About Sal Deluca

Our family has spent summers at Lily Lake since the mid-1950s. Each generation has used it in its own way, but the place's natural beauty, fun, and relaxation have remained mostly unchanged through the years. For the last decade, we've decided to make it our full-time home and now would like others to have the opportunity to enjoy a little bit of what we've built our lives around.

Sal Deluca purchased this cottage in 1987

Why Sal Deluca chose Pennsylvania

The Lily Lake Guest House is on a parcel adjacent to our primary residence. As our family has grown, we use for get-togethers and holidays. It's far enough to offer our family and family a bit of seclusion, but close enough that we can easily spend time together.

What makes this cottage unique

We've tried to create a place with many modern conveniences yet one that maintains the popular rustic cottage style of the 1920s. Guests can enjoy heated bathroom floors and Internet access but also bear witness to the passage of time with the simple stone-and-mortar foundation created of rock found on the property, the original yellow pine clapboard siding and Douglas Fir flooring, the open-air patio and screened porch, and the structure's simple yet functional layout.

Lovely Guest Cottage

  • 5 of 5

We were very, very pleased with the lovely property. We took two of our grandchildren for a "making memories" weekend and the cottage provided the perfect venue to share time on and off the water.

We would recommend this as a quiet, serene spot which is impeccably maintained and very well appointed.

When possible we will definitely try to rent this property again!!!

Owner's Response: Thanks so much for the kind words, Bob. I know it was a long time in the planning, but I'm thrilled that it was so memorable. Come back anytime with the grandchildren (or even by yourselves!) Thanks again.

Charm-filled serenity

  • 5 of 5

We spent two lovely days in the cottage enjoying zero appointments, deadlines, commitments and crises. It was fantastic. The cottage is beautifully decorated and well-appointed to make your stay a breeze. We happened to be celebrating our 30th anniversary and enjoyed a special meal prepared and served just for us. It was a delicious and relaxing way to enjoy our evening. Thank you Sal and family for being such wonderful hosts.

Just perfect!

  • 5 of 5

My family and I had a delightful stay at the Lily Lake Guest House this Thanksgiving. The location was perfect and the owners really put thought into creating an ambience that was comfortable, but filled with casual elegance. They also provided supplies to make it a turnkey/relaxing experience (such as recreational equipment, cooking tools and much more).

Sal was very accommodating and great to work with when making reservations- we hope to make this an annual trip.

We highly recommend the Lily Lake Guest House to all!!!

Exceptional, as usual

  • 5 of 5

So sorry it took me so long to write. Our dog, Rocky, who has been with us at this cabin every time we have, died the day after we got home. So we've been grieving. Be that as it may, this is still our favorite place to stay. The cottage was in spectacular condition when we got there. We had a problem with ants and it was handled the same day. We had bragged so much about the chef-provided meal that we had an extra guest for dinner and NO ONE was disappointed. As is usual, I hated to leave. The cabin, the lake, the owners, the agent, the beautiful setting, nothing lets you down. We will be back as far as I can tell, every year, if not more. Love it!

Owner's Response: We are so, so sorry to hear about Rocky! He was so kind and sweet and will always be remembered. It was great to meet Karen this year. She was the perfect addition to the group. Thank you again for the kind words. We really do try to make our guests' stays easy and memorable. It's rewarding to hear that we have been successful. Can't wait to see you all again next fall (if not sooner). Happy holidays!
