About Sal Deluca
Our family has spent summers at Lily Lake since the mid-1950s. Each generation has used it in its own way, but the place's natural beauty, fun, and relaxation have remained mostly unchanged through the years. For the last decade, we've decided to make it our full-time home and now would like others to have the opportunity to enjoy a little bit of what we've built our lives around.
Sal Deluca purchased this Cottage in 1987
Why Sal Deluca chose Conyngham
The Lily Lake Guest House is on a parcel adjacent to our primary residence. As our family has grown, we use for get-togethers and holidays. It's far enough to offer our family and family a bit of seclusion, but close enough that we can easily spend time together.
What makes this Cottage unique
We've tried to create a place with many modern conveniences yet one that maintains the popular rustic cottage style of the 1920s. Guests can enjoy heated bathroom floors and Internet access but also bear witness to the passage of time with the simple stone-and-mortar foundation created of rock found on the property, the original yellow pine clapboard siding and Douglas Fir flooring, the open-air patio and screened porch, and the structure's simple yet functional layout.

Great spot, loved it
Wonderfully appointed sweet cottage in a primo spot. It snowed the day we got there which made it even prettier. The next day the owners had thoughtfully shoveled our car out before we were even awake because we had mentioned possibly going to Elk Mountain to ski. Hiked around the frozen lake with our dog who was in her glory. We were very comfortable and highly recommend (loved the heated floors in the bathroom). Only minor complaint was the Internet connection wasn't great. Sal was super responsive but for some reason it cut out a lot. My husband and I weren't complaining - it meant we had our teenagers attention more than we normally do. Would love to go back in summer. Thanks for a great weekend out of the city.
Thanks so much for the kind words, Carole. Glad you had a great time!
Only sorry to hear the the internet was spotty. Our Internet Service Provider had an outage that unfortunately coincided with your stay. But we agree that getting your teenagers' attention is priceless these days!
Please come see us again in the summer. I think you'll really love being able to relax outside on the porches and by the lake.
We had an amazing stay in this lake front cottage. Everything was very clean, we were provide with anything that we needed for our stay. It was a beautiful winter trip, Bob the neighbor was very helpful throughout our stay. Thank you!
So glad you had such a great time, James. It was a pleasure hosting you, and we look forward to seeing you again. Happy new year!
Thanksgiving Dinner Stay
My husband and my best friend stayed here for the Thanksgiving Weekend, and I made a whole turkey, 4 sides and a pumpkin cheese cake here!
The house is clean, spacious and probably really pretty in the summer as you can see the lake right in front of it. Really nice place to stay.
Initially, we had a bit of a problem with getting the house to heat up, but it was probably because we live in Manhattan and are not familiar with central heating system. It was easily fixed the next day when the kind owner came to assist us on Thanksgiving Day.
The only weird thing was that the house didn't have many bowls for cereal. While they had a coffee bean grinder and coffee maker, they did not have a coffee filters (we bought some the next day). They did have a percolator so it came in handy the first morning.
Overall super relaxing stay and warm hospitality. Will recommend this place for anyone looking to relax and enjoy quiet time!
Thanks so much for the kind words. We're delighted that Thanksgiving was a success for you. And yes, the cottage is wonderful in the summertime as well. In addition to hiking, fishing, and swimming, it's nice to enjoy the porch and fire pit.
I'm so sorry there weren't any coffee filters there for you! It was an oversight on our part, and we thank you for letting us know.
As for cereal bowls, there are six or seven there with blue rims. I'm sorry they weren't more apparent.
Thanks again for taking the time to write. We look forward to hosting you again in the near future!
We wanted a quick weekend getaway and this place was perfect. Very nice house, well maintained and clean. The house is steps away from the very picturesque Lily lake, we fished from the dock and did some hiking around too. It's close enough to some fun things to do in the area as well. Overall I would absolutely recommend this to anyone. The owners were great and we couldn't have asked for anything more. Thanks again! We'll surely be back.
Thanks so much, Dan. It was a pleasure having you. I'm glad you found yourself at home and were able to take advantage of the fun to be had both at the lake and beyond. Please come see us again soon!
Beautiful peaceful piece of paradise!
We enjoyed our wonderful lake side stay. The owners who live on the property were very helpful and accommodating. We appreciated the restaurant suggestions. We really enjoyed dinner at Le Manhattan Bistro in Wilkes-Barre. Looking forward to coming back in the summer.
We are delighted that you enjoyed your stay and got to do a little exploring of the surrounding area. Please do come back in summer! It's a lovely time at the lake. Thanks again for choosing to stay with us.
Charming, comfortable and peaceful.
We enjoyed our visit at Lily Lake. Upon arriving you immediately feel at ease. The property is quiet and beautiful. The house was well equipped with everything you need for a relaxing stay. My husband and I drove up from Southern NJ not really knowing what to expect. We were very impressed from the moment we arrived.
We love our wine, so on Saturday we found a beer and wine festival on Cayuga Lake and enjoyed a day on the lake sipping beverages and listening to great music.
We are foodies, so we enjoy cooking our own meals. I would suggest to all those who plan on cooking to bring your favorite spices, oils, vinegars, etc. I would also suggest bringing your own non stick pan. Otherwise, the kitchen is perfect & the space is very clean. There is even a grill on the patio.
The house itself is beautiful in so many ways. You will notice that a lot of attention was paid to the detail of the decorating. There is beautiful hardwood flooring throughout, gorgeous wood trim everywhere you look, boxed out windows & the ceiling is to die for.
I absolutely love fresh flowers and they were tastefully placed in different parts of the house. The bud vase in the bathroom is absolutely adorable too.
There is a dock down by the lake, adirondack chairs and a fire pit that was set up for us to use before we even got there. We enjoyed our wine, & a fire the night before we went back home. It was a perfect end to a wonderful & much needed getaway.
We enjoyed meeting Sal & his kids while they paddle boarded on the lake. Thanks for your help and for mailing my jacket back to me that I forgot to grab on the way out of the house. Have a great winter & I would recommend your VRBO to anyone who needs a retreat from their hectic lives. Our stay was nothing less than perfect.
Thanks for all the kinds words, Miranda. It was a pleasure hosting and meeting you both last weekend.
So glad you appreciated all the decoration and architectural details. We tried to create a space where guest feel truly at home.
Please come see us again next time you need some R&R!
