About Leslie Hager

My husband and I split our time between this home in Colorado and a home in Houston, where two of our children live. We are both professionals and enjoy the peace and tranquility of this amazing retreat.

Leslie Hager purchased this house in 2007

Why Leslie Hager chose Front Range

When we were choosing a property, we wanted to live halfway between Lakewood and the ski slopes. This home was easily accessible from the highway and remote enough to provide the rest and relaxation we wanted.

What makes this house unique

The home is remote but within a few minutes of I-70. It is located in Arapahoe National Forest, so there are no neighbors nearby. The views are better than any we had ever seen. The town of Idaho Springs is 6 miles away and has a grocery store, bars, restaurants, parks, and a gold mine that is now open for tours. There is also a glacier approximately 5 miles away, where you can enjoy hiking, sledding, and snow shoeing.

Felt like a dream!

  • 5 of 5

Our stay was truly one of the most memorable weekends ever. The location of this beautiful house is nestled in such a special place. Leslie and Steve (the owners of this cabin) are so nice and extremely helpful hosts. They went out of their way to give us suggestions/advice about places around the area. They gave us tips about hiking St. Mary's Glacier that most hikers don't know about. The best part, besides sitting in the hot tub and staring at the millions of stars in the sky at night, is that St. Mary's Glacier is only a few minutes drive from the cabin! When we arrived at the house, it already felt like home. Extremely clean, refreshing and relaxing. Every room had a heavenly view and was such a great way to start the day. If you're looking at other houses, stop. It doesn't get any better than this. Leslie and Steve - thank you so much for sharing this piece of heaven with me and my friends! Can't wait to come back again.

Amazing location, stellar views, cozy but spacious retreat!

  • 5 of 5

We loved our stay so much we can't wait to book again! We visited at the end of May but still were able to enjoy the snow! The first 3 days felt like winter, the last 5 were like early spring so we really got to enjoy the best of the beautiful snow and then the warmer weather activities in the area. This lovely cabin is very comfortable for a family get away and it is close to MANY activities.... although just relaxing on the deck or in the hot tub is quite nice too!

Perfect week in the mountains!

  • 5 of 5

We spent our honeymoon in this little pocket of paradise and were astounded with how delightful the views were on the balcony every morning and evening. We loved the fireplaces and the creative design of the cabin with all of it's beautiful wooden interiors. Convenient location, private but in close proximity to town and just a skip away from Denver. The hosts were so sweet and accommodating and were available via phone for the duration of our stay. Looking forward to another visit in the future, highly recommend!

Tranquility in the mountains.

The place was private and relaxing. Beautiful fireplace and all the accomadations you could need. The owners were very tentative to our needs and communicated with us the whole time. We highly recommend this place.

An amazing journey back in a time.

  • 5 of 5

This is a awesome property tucked gently against a mountain with spectacular views. Takes you back to a time when the Rocky Mounatins where just being dicovered and you will feel like Lewis and Clark.

It's far enough up the mountain to give you the feeling of a remote wilderness log cabin. But, close enough to town if you need supplies, great shopping or just a dinner with the friendly locals. Prefectly located to near by Denver and other mounatin passes with absolutly breathtaking views.

Leslie and Steve, the owners of this private residence are experts at preparing guests for this one in a lifetime adventure. The leasing process at first may seem very detailed. But, thanks to Steve's, knowledge of thier property and situational awareness, we were prepared for the first winter snow. So, I suggest you trust his process because it allowed us to have our best trip eve! We would highly reccomend this mountain home for couples or large families who need to reconnect with each other while surrounded by the great outdoors.

Gorgeous Cabin + Breathtaking Views

  • 5 of 5

We truly enjoyed staying in this home and the hospitality of the homeowners made us feel very welcome, informed about the house and the area. The photos of the interior are very accurate and the kitchen is very well equipped and fun to cook in. Every window really has a gorgeous view. I don't think there is any photo that could capture the beauty of the outdoor views. There are sweeping views of the neighboring mountains. In front of the deck are several beautiful large pine trees where the hummingbirds hang out. They make wonderful little noises and dart back and forth between the trees and the feeders. We liked the quiet seclusion of the house and its close proximity to shopping in Idaho Springs. The surrounding area is quite beautiful. St. Mary's Glacier is a must do! We would recommend a 4wd car if you are not used to driving on challenging roads. We come from a very flat area and felt it helped us feel more confident navigating the mountain roads. We would rent this property again and recommend it to friends.

You can also drive 5 miles to St. Mary's Glacier, where you can hike or sled year round and snow shoe in the winter. Driving Fall River Road as you head to the home, you will see spectacular views and the fall brings incredible sights as the aspens change.
