Beautiful and perfect!

  • 5 of 5

My husband and two teenage daughters spent our Thanksgiving here. I took everything we needed to make a turkey and all the fixin's. The kitchen was very well stocked and our dinner was perfect!

The skies were mostly gray while we were there but it didn't matter...still beautiful! We loved exploring Thomas Rock and Yellow Dog Falls. But my favorite part was spending quality time with my family playing games and doing puzzles inside the cozy cabin.

We can't wait to go back!

Lake Superior Gem

  • 4 of 5

The cabin was really nice and my Pastor guest was really appreciative that I invited him to such a nice facility right on beautiful Lake Superior.

Although we didn't do very well with deer hunting we sure enjoyed our stay at this beautiful facility and we had exceptional warm weather during our stay. Our cell phones only picked up one bar signal during our evenings. The cabin came with a land line so that helped with the one local call we needed to make one evening. The view from the cabin was astounding and we found out that the Big Bay Hotel-Restuarant was closed the first two days we were in town. Call ahead if you plan to eat there, but the food is excellent. We did do some sight seeing a few times and checked out the Burns Landing Marina and camping area at Perkins Park on the Northwest corner of Independence Lake. I have to rate the cabin at 4 1/2 stars out of five due to only one bathroom and no dishwasher. But the absolutely beautiful log cabin on the water made up for any inconvenience. I highly recommend staying at the cabin any time of the year. The listing of the cabin was very accurate, clean and nicely decorated. Fireplace was awesome. Kristin, the property manager was also very helpful in taking care of some last minute items we needed.

Beautiful Big Bay cabin is just as described!

  • 5 of 5

This Beautiful cabin in Big Bay, MI is just as described on the Home Away site. We loved sharing the space with the whole family without feeling cramped. We ventured out to many great Upper Peninsula attractions, but some of our favorite time was spent right around the cabin (kayaking in Lake Superior, chasing waterfalls, hiking, trout fishing, etc). Property Manager, Kristin was very helpful before & during our stay.

Wow! That was our reaction when we walked into this log house. It's an amazing, well-built, beautiful log home on the shores of Lake Superior. What more can you ask for? It is cozy, comfy, nicely decorated and well stocked with all amenities needed to spend a week there. We enjoyed star gazing, attending St. Anne's Catholic Church, spending time at Squaw Beach, touring Big Bay Lighthouse, taking long walks and listening to the waves from the deck or the shore of Lake Superior. We took a day trip to the Keweenaw Peninsula and thoroughly enjoyed making stops along the way. Houghton is a neat town with Keweenaw Brewery. The drive along Rt. 26 was beautiful. We spotted a bald eagle at Eagle Harbor Marina. We continued down the peninsula stopping at Bete Grise beach which was amazing! Marquette was a nice town with lots to do. Donckers Ice Cream/Soda Fountain--yummy! The Maritime Museum was very interesting as well as St. Peter's Catherdal. The Mt. Marquette Scenic overlook on Carp Road is worth a visit!

All in all, we would highly recommend this log home to anyone who is up for some adventure, peace and quiet, star gazing, and listening to the waves of Lake Superior!
