Please note: in high season (December 15 to April 27) we accept ONLY Saturday-Saturday stays (7 or 14 nights).
First time to St Lucia? We suggest you start by deciding the best part (North or South) of the island for your vision of an ideal vacation. This is important, as the distances between the different parts of the island are a lot longer than they look on the map. It's about a 90-minute drive (each way) from the North to the South on very twisty roads (with driving on the left - "British" - side of the road). You'll end up spending most of your vacation near your accommodation, so be sure to stay in the south if you want to "play" in the south - and vice versa.
Hopefully this short guide will help you decide which is right:
The South is where you find the iconic Pitons and views that will literally stop you in your tracks. Here is where the best outdoor activities are located - hiking through the rain forest, climbing a Piton mountain, snorkeling, SCUBA diving, dolphin and whale watching, waterfalls, ATV rides, zip lining, plantation tours, horseback riding, mountain biking, mud baths and the drive-in volcano, wind and kite-surfing, and of course, relaxing on the beach, including the white-sanded Sugar Beach. A few resorts/hotels and private villas are sprinkled across the hillsides, many (like ours) positioned to get the most amazing views. The restaurants range from food trucks for lunch to white-tablecloth fine dining. There is a much more local and laid-back vibe to this part of the island than the North. If you are looking for an outdoor and active vacation, or to simply stay at an accommodation with incredible views of the Pitons and feel your stress melt away, this is the part of the island you want. And ten years after a stay in Soufriere, you'll immediately recognize your trip pictures as being from St Lucia!
The North (Rodney Bay/Castries/Gros Islet) is where you find all the large resorts, lots of restaurants, a casino, duty-free shopping, etc. There is a little hiking and snorkeling on Pigeon Island (in Gros Islet). The views are nice, but overall the area is not too dissimilar from many other Caribbean Islands. This is the area to choose if you are looking to mostly soak up the sun on the beach, and want a typical Caribbean beach town to walk around in the evening for bars and restaurants for tourist-oriented nightlife.
Does the south sound perfect for you? Then the only thing missing for your dream vacation is the perfect villa. How about one that is almost like a private hotel, with staff to take care of you while you enjoy stunning sunsets and jaw-dropping views of the Pitons? Our home, Villa Grand Piton, may just be the answer! You and your family/friends will be the only guests in our spacious home, and have our sparking pool to yourselves to enjoy the magnificent view of the Pitons, the Caribbean and the sunsets. Our friendly staff will keep the villa clean, help you plan your activities, and anything else you need to make your vacation truly unforgettable. Additional important information about Villa Grand Piton:
Our home is a non-smoking villa. No smoking anywhere in the villa or on the grounds, except in a designated smoking area at the base of the driveway.
The villa and grounds pose inherent dangers for children under 13. If your party includes any children under 13, please contact us so we can describe the issues. We want to ensure Villa Grand Piton is a good fit for your party.
The villa is not available for rent without the staff.
The villa is built in the open-architecture style of most Caribbean residences. This style emphasizes harmony with the outdoors, and does not try to create an impenetrable barrier between the interior and exterior. Doors are not weather-stripped, windows are not covered by glass, and the buildings often have other openings to allow free airflow, allowing insects and geckos into these houses. Our windows are covered by screens, beds and the Jacuzzi all have mosquito nets, and we have an outdoor mosquito-control machine to help keep the mosquito population down.
Given the open nature of the house (interior walls that do not go to the ceiling, no glass covering the windows), the air conditioning in the bedrooms will not be able to cool the rooms, but does blow cool air on the beds to make sleeping a little more comfortable.
Noises also carry somewhat in an open-air house, and you may be able to hear what is happening in a nearby room in the house when the rest of the house is very quiet. We've put some small radios in the bathrooms and there are TV's in the bedrooms. Feel free to turn either of these on to create some background noise.
We do require a signed (electronic signature) rental agreement, which will be provided upon your request to book the villa.
