Hidden gem on AL coast at the mouth of Palmetto Creek & Perdido Bay-25 %Aug 2026

I live in New Orleans, close to family but never too far from Perdido. As a retired flight attendant, I have travelled the world but have always felt the most at home in the Deep South.
I love dogs ( & even a few cats) & enjoy fostering & finding homes for the many that have crossed my path over the years. I love antiques, reflected in the homes decor. My mother was a building contractor, mostly custom homes and following in her footsteps I also have a love for renovation. I have worked diligently the past 2 years to update “Breezy Point” & make it more comfortable but not fussy. Originally Breezy Point was a camp house, no electricity or running water. My dad camped out in it when he was a little boy with friends-and it has been added on to over the years. My extended family still owns the properties on either side as well as the property out to the paved road.
Most of all I just hope you enjoy your stay & may want to come back one day. I love sharing our special place here at Perdido. Thank you for coming.

We are actually the town of Perdido Beach, Alabama, a town of 500-700 residents. We incorporated maybe 10-15 years ago but all my life this community has been called Perdido Beach. Most people think we are on the Gulf but we have Soldier’s Creek to our left facing the Bay, Perdido Bay in the middle & Palmetto Creek & Spring Branch on the far right. We are the best of all worlds. You can enjoy all three or venture out into the Gulf. Also you can take your boat across the bay & pick a great seafood restaurant.
We do have a volunteer Fire Dept with a helicopter pad, but no stores, condos, gas stations, bill boards or golf cart trails, just drive on the street or sandy roads. We do recycle at the Fire Station. And if you are lucky, you may see the Blue Angels fly over occasionally but you for sure will see your fair share of dolphins-they usually come in in the mornings & go out before dark. Sometimes they’ll even put on a show. You’ll also see Pelicans, sometimes a Bald Eagle & Osprey. And of course you’re in the South so you’ll cross paths with Armadillos, Possums, Rabbits, Squirrels & an occasional snake, mostly black snakes that are harmless & keep the mice away. Hope you enjoy experiencing them all except maybe the harmless black snake.

My grandchildren are the 6th generation to have enjoyed this beautiful place. My great grandfather from Selma, Alabama discovered this special spot & their family took a train from Selma to Pensacola, a mail boat from Pensacola to Soldier’s Creek where locals picked them up. My great grandmother & her 8 children stayed on Palmetto Creek all summer, no electricity, out houses & lived on the vegetables & products from local farmers. Over the years all those children bought property in this area & generations later many of us, including my 3 grandchildren, continue to be blessed to enjoy it. Today it’s still a quiet, peaceful place but close to “civilization” as we call it, if you want to experience that. The water here is great for swimming and enjoying other water activities. The Gulf is only 10 min by water across the Bay. Straight across the Bay from us is Ono Island. Also between us & the Gulf is the Inter-coastal Canal.
Perdido is a sacred place for me. It has always grounded me & been a safe haven. I hope you, too, will enjoy this very special slice of Heaven.
