Spacious home with private hot tub, pool, & deck

New in our program, this home has many great reviews from past guests.

Dixie Arrow is located ocean-side with direct boardwalk access to the beach on the quiet Oceanview Drive. The third floor has a large great room with ceiling fans and a brand-new (2024) kitchen with a breakfast bar. Sliding doors lead to a large, all-new (as of 2024) deck with an ocean view complete with deck furniture and a picnic table. The second floor features a bonus room for kids with a foosball table, a new stair tamer, a TV with front side A/V jack, a sofa bed, and a second fridge/freezer. A private deck exits the first floor to a private decked pool. The grill, fish cleaning station area, and showers are located in the under-house entry. Come relax and point your vacation to Dixie Arrow.

Avon Fishing Pier is located 400 yards North and Club Hatteras is 400 yards West on route 12.

Things to Know
The private pool is open seasonally from 4/26/2025 and closes 10/12/2025. Dates are subject to change.
The pool will open seasonally from 04/01/2026 and close 10/10/2026. Dates are subject to change.

Hot tub OBX family trip

This house was great. The views of the ocean and sunrises were great. The open floor plan on the 3rd floor was a great hang out spot for food and cheer. The 3rd floor deck was a great touch to sit at in the morning and at night. The walk to the beach path was right across the street. Our families loved it here.

Great property, awesome amenities. I cannot find any suggestions for improvement. It handled our 12 member family with ease. Appreciated the ample cookware and facilities. 100% excellent!

Family Vacation 2025

This house was perfect for our family of 10. I read reviews and was somewhat hesitant however, I took a leap of faith and ignored the previous comments and I was glad I did. Location was perfect! Access to the beach is diagonal from the home on the right which is a huge perk. The couches in the upstairs living room could be updated and the water pressure is eh but other than that everything was amazing! Kitchen had everything we needed and then some. Very pleased! I will definitely stay here again. Also, communication with VASCA was excellent as well. I will definitely recommend this spot. ☺️

Large home near beach

The layout and size was great. Location, very close to public access to fantastic beach. Fun small pool. Kitchen had new appliances. Not spotlessly clean but acceptable. Broken arm on chair. Ladder to pool completely broken off, but pool water was clean.

Adoring Avon

Proximity to the beach was fantastic with a walkway right in front of the house. Communication if needed with Vacasa* was no problem! All amenities were there as promised and everyone could not have been more friendly. There was no push to check out just the nice Reminders. we typically leave a early to get re-acclimated to work again! Looking forward to next year!

Overall great time- I would book with them again!

We had a great time. Early on we had a maintenance request. They were very responsive and the staff was friendly and helpful. We talked a little and the person who showed up to fix our request gave helpful tips for places to visit. Our issue was cleared up very fast and the rest of the week was perfect.

Army retiree reunion

5 of my Army retired buddies and I rented this property for a reunion. It was plenty big enough for everyone. Only one flaw during the entire week. The dishwasher sucks so we washed the dishes the old fashion way, By hand.

Nice location. House and furnishings clean, but old and worn. No response from Hatteras Realty about complaints that microwave and WiFi were not working. Will not rent from them again.

Vacation week outer banks

We really enjoyed the area. The house was as advertised big and comfortable. My only complaint would be that we had to wait for 2 hours for the house to be cleaned. We arrived at 4 got in at 6 only to find one of the bedrooms was not clean. The rug had so much hair on it I rolled it up until I found the vacuum 2 days later. Some of the pool furniture was broken but usable.

Please know that there was some miscommunication regarding check-in, it states on our agreement that check-in is between 4 and 6 o'clock, however we deeply apologize for the room that was not cleaned. Old furnishings that are not well maintained adorned this beach home. Scratches on table tops and dressers were hidden by a layer of dirt and dust. Vacasa property managers were not responsive. Would not recommend.

This home is dirty and outdated had to clean when I got there the rails for the steps literally destroyed a wash cloth very disappointed in this home I stayed in it in 2011 and was much nicer There is no shower pressure takes 3-4 cycles to dry clothes very dirty house furniture falling apart very sad condition

Needs updated and cleaned

Dont expect the interior of this property to feel like home or feel like it’s had any attention paid to it. Basically you’ll be paying to be close to the beach which is nice and to have a kitchen and enough beds. This place is filthy and outdated. The positives are the staff are nice and helpful, the hotub pool and ac were maintained and those are musts. Do yourself a favor if you watch tv bring hdmi cords and laptops/tablets for kids ect. The 2003 TVs their might as well not be. We left our hdmi cord there hopefully it stays there for the next person to use.

Did the trick

We stayed here for a week in sept and for the most part enjoyed our stay. The house could really use a deep cleaning but nothing was so bad that it ruined our vacation. I know this year has been really rough in rentals in the OBX and they don’t have enough staff for cleaning plus a high amount of rentals keeps them doing the minimum right now. Some of the ceiling fans had dust all over them. There is a piece of molding missing going from the kitchen to the living room, also looks like water damage on the cabinets right next to it. Some walls could use a wipe down. Like I said nothing that ruined our stay at all! The location was perfect with beach access almost directly across from the house. Hot tub and pool were used and enjoyed as well! The only suggestion I would make is maybe offering some seats inside and outside that aren’t so low, some people in our group had a hard time with the chairs and sinking into the couch. We would rent here again!

Dirty/Outdated

As previously posted by others you are literally only paying for the access to the beach just across the street. The whole house is a disgrace for its cost and don’t let the photos fool you. This house is extremely outdated and falling apart. The piece of molding separating the kitchen and living area was not fixed as it said it was in another review and the carpet runners, running through the house are dingy and falling apart. While the house smelled clean when we first walked in the floors and couch had sand all over them. The windows had writing on the from the pervious renters and there where dirty dishes put away. Also, the outside furniture is literally falling apart. It is also not supposed to be dog friendly and there was dog hair everywhere. Do not rent for even the off-season cost, way over priced.

Disappointing beach house

Although this house is in a great location with quick access to the beach, it caused a huge growing lump of disappointment as we drove up to the house. The outside is in disrepair with different colors/shades of paint all over. The same is true for all of the deck furniture. It has all been touched up here and there with different shades of paint. The inside of the home is dirty with extremely outdated furniture. The beds are covered in only sheets and a thin blanket; no bed skirts and no bedspreads. The flooring is ok, but with outdated and dirty rugs and runners. The threshold between the kitchen and family room was broken on one area, leading to people catching their toes. We were told the refrigerator broke in the kitchen and we would have only a mini fridge for half the week, so we were pleasantly surprised to have 2 working refrigerators on the kitchen level when we arrived. Of course, we enjoyed the beach being only 30 seconds away, but the cost of this house far exceeds what you get.

Great Location, Disappointing Facility and Amenities

The property claimed to have had "a mess from the prior tenants" and forced us to wait in the driveway for 2 hours after our check-in time while they were finishing cleaning. However, once given entry into the property, it was clear the cleanliness level of house was not acceptable on any level with sticky messes still present on counter tops and tables, sand all over the floor, and standing water in the downstairs bathroom. We did not complain as we had been waiting for the place to be cleaned for hours already and were anxious to start the vacation. However, as everyone settled in, we realized that only some rooms were provided bath towels, forcing us to use our own spare beach towels for entirety of our stay. Amenities were lacking the entire vacation as we had to make a trip to the store to buy our own trash bags and some cleaning products. The location of the house was fantastic, but as the week went on, we saw the house beginning to fall apart. The TV sound went out in the middle of NBA playoffs, the microwave went out in the middle of cooking dinner, the grill proved too disgusting to even attempt a cookout, and most importantly and unbearable, the downstairs air conditioning unit went out on our second day. The comfort of coming home from a hot beach day to a nice cool room was no more. Instead, we were forced to suffer in the hot, stale humidity of an OBX summer. Several guests of the house were forced to sleep upstairs on the couch, just to get a couple moments of shut-eye at a tolerable temperature. Finally, the downstairs sink and toilet began leaking upon first use later in the week. The house felt as though it had not been maintained since the 90's as several railings, even on the third floor, were loose and dangerous. Overall, the house felt dirty and hazardous, I would recommend staying in the area but not this particular house.
