Gorgeous valley views from the ground floor and Atlantic ocean views and sunsets from the rooftop terrace. Yard is landscaped with palms, flowering trees and shrubs, papaya and plantains.

Great vacation

We enjoyed our 4 night stay on Vieques and this property was a great home base for our adventures. The central location is convenient for getting to Isabel, Esperanza, the beaches and hiking spots. The supplied beach chairs, umbrella, and coolers made the trips to the beach much more comfortable, and the washer and dryer were nice to clean our sandy clothes before packing them to go home. The kitchen was well stocked making it nice for the times that you want to eat in. Our stay was great and we would stay here again.

Great private place to stay

We've stayed here twice and love it. The rooftop is an awesome place to relax and read or eat your breakfast. The house itself is clean, safe, & private - and the air conditioning in the bedroom is a great addition. WiFi is convenient & the washer/dryer and gas grill work great. They also have beach chairs, umbrella, and coolers available for use, which seriously improve your beach lounging. Owners Rob & Nate, and the local property managers Barbara & Kris are very responsive and helpful. The house is only a short Jeep ride from groceries, restaurants, and both north and south shore beaches. The hospital is also close (hopefully you don't need it). We really enjoy visiting Vieques and loved our stay at this location!

Pure paradise!

We stayed here for our 15 year anniversary. Even though there are houses around they are so far apart it feels like you are alone on the hill top. It is so quite at night. The house is very clan and we felt safe. The little extras set this place apart from others, the washer/dryer, grill and beach equipment but our favorite was the rooftop deck and hammock!! It was easy to get where we wanted to be and then find ourselves back home without any confusion. The house managers responded quickly and were very kind. We ended up not being able to fly in the first night and had to wait until the next morning. The house managers were very accommodating and met us early the next morning. When we checked out once again they were flexible with our schedule. We definitely would stay here again.

Exceptional rental

There aren't enough positive adjectives to describe our experience! The owners/ property manager were very easy to reach andhelpful, which is what is needed when visiting anywhere new! The residence was more like a true home. We love to cook on vacation and there were spices and condiments available on arrival. The kitchen and outside grill satisfied all our needs nicely. The view, surroundings and location allowed us to disconnect from our busy lives in the States. These surroundings gave us a more accurate representation of island life. The house was well appointed. Everything we needed was there; as opposed to some places we have stayed which had little to offer for guests. Beach chairs, towels and a cooler for snacks was available at the house for use. The breeze on the main floor deck and the upper deck were FANTASTIC!! Speaking of the upper deck- WOW! Especially at night star watching. There was a meteor shower while we were there! The view upstairs was amazing; a ture 360 degrees. This property felt like home and we would definitely rent again!

Great central location

We have stayed at Rob and Nates house several times now, its just a great place to call home while on the island. Its a great location for either going to Isabel or Esperanza and the reserves beaches. Weve stayed at several different places on Vieques but this is the only house we try to return to each trip. The evenings on the rooftop deck and the quiet neighborhood keep us coming back. Thanks guys, Kevin and Jacque

Perfect Vieques casa with 360 Views

Jose's Paradise is the perfect couple's getaway. Situated on a hill in a rustic glen in the interior of Vieques, sweeping 360-degree views from the essential roof deck include a northern vista featuring the ocean and Culebra. The blazing orange, summer-blooming Flamboyanes cluster here and there around the landscape, and the house is surrounded by fragrant alamanda, palm, aloe and aechmea. The house is well-appointed with everything you need to live comfortably at this beautiful location. A rental vehicle is essential to access the beaches, and everywhere you look and go, horses, horses, horses. We've been travelling to the Caribbean for nearly thirty years, and always rent a house of some sort. We put this one in our top three!---Steve and Andres.

Perfect for island explorers!

My daughter and I chose this home for our week in Vieques, and we could not have been happier . The beautiful little house has everything you need and the outdoor spaces are wonderful. We loved having breakfast on the roof, and the shady patio was great for having a meal sheltered from sun wind or rain . We also enjoyed the roof at night, no bugs to bother us, and the stars are magnificent! The bed is very comfortable, and we appreciated the air-conditioned bedroom at night. All of the design details and fun paint colors make this such a happy vacation home. We saved a lot of money making our own breakfasts, packing our own lunches, and creating our own evening piña colada‘s! The location is great for anyone who wants to explore the island. As for service, the owners were very quick to respond with helpful information and are a pleasure to work with . The house managers were also great. Met us at the airport, and responded to our texts quickly. The rental was clean, and well stocked with essentials and condiments which is so helpful for those who want to cook some meals. We hope to return to this spot, and will recommend it to friends.

Awesome private retreat

My wife and I spent 8 days in this marvelous cottage - villa is situated on top of a hill behind a private gate. Great views of surrounding forest and ocean. Great location between Isabel and beaches/ Esperanza. Great outdoor space. Perfect place for a couple hoping to explore Island and have a relaxing, self sufficient place to call home. My wife and I checked out many of the remote beaches, snorkeled, and fished. It was great to catch fish, hit the store, and then come home and grill up our catch of the day. Villa is equipped with a bbq, washer dryer, and beach equipment. If you are wanting to be in the center of the downtown or within walking distance of the tourist bars this is not the place for you --- but if you are after a place that is quite, well thought out, unique, and allows you to be self sufficient it is ideal. My wife and I loved are time at the Villa Borinquen and are planning on returning!

Truly amazing

This little cottage had everything you needed in its kitchen and bathroom, AC in bedroom was wonderful. The views were absolutely breathtaking. Jose's Paradise and the island of Vieques exceeded our expectations. Would definitely come back.

Jose's Paradise was truly an amazing house. It was centrally located to Isabella Segunda, Esparanza , and the beautiful beaches. The house was perfect for two people, the views were incredible. Our favorite part of the house was the rooftop patio, it was so relaxing and peaceful. We were there when the moon was full and it lit up the whole rooftop, very romantic! Rob and Nate did a great job of envisioning and creating the perfect retreat on Vieques.

Great Place to Vacation!

My wife and I had a great stay here for our honeymoon. The house is well located near the town of Isabel II and about a 10 minute drive from the National Wildlife Refuge, where many great beaches could be found. The house itself was perfectly outfitted for our stay. The kitchen was well stocked so we were able to eat in regularly. The upper roof was a nice place to sit or lay in the hammock. Overall, we would highly recommend Jose's Paradise to a couple looking to vacation in Vieques.

Simply Amazing

I'm gonna use the word "amazing" again. For two years in a row, my wife and I stayed at Jose's Paradise. It's the perfect retreat to get away from it all. We really enjoyed the location, the views and all that Jose's Paradise had to offer. The owners have done a great job in creating this little paradise on a beautiful island. Hey y'all, Macie and I just wanted to thank y'all for sharing your piece of paradise with is this past week. We had an amazing time in Vieques and found ourselves dreading having to come home. After all the stress that came with planning our wedding it was so nice to be able to kick back, relax and rejuvenate. The beaches were way more than either of us expected and the people made us feel very welcome. Now that we're home we find ourselves comparing everything to Vieques. Jose's Paradise and Vieques....fabulous

My wife and I stayed at Jose's Paradise May 14-20 and could not have asked for more. The location is perfect to get to any side of the Island and the pristine beaches that abound on Vieques. As for Jose's Paradise....what an amazing place to come "home" to at the end of the day of exploring and snorkling... the roof top terrace with the awesome views and cool breezes, and the main level patio for outdoor dining. A very comfortable bed and bath in the inside. What more could you want for a wonderful time. Thanks Rob and Nate as well as Nancy for helping to make our stay memorable.

The house was wonderful! Beautiful views of the ocean and the hillside, breezes through the large screen windows, colorful landscaping and decor, and the rooftop veranda was over the top! A beautiful spot-we ate our meals and had our coffee up there. We really enjoyed relaxing at the house-could have stayed there all day if there were not so many places to explore on Vieques! I enjoyed all the wildlife-especially birds that could be viewed from the property-mangrove cuckoos, yellow-faced grassquits, Puerto Rican woodpecker, Adelaide's warbler, with egrets traveling overhead. Great cooking facilities too.

Awesome stay at Jose's Paradise!

My husband and I stayed at Jose's Paradise as part of our 25th anniversary trip to Vieques in March. Over the years we have stayed in many homes on Vieques and most have been great with great views but Jose's Paradise is definitely one of our favorites! I would recommend it to any couple looking for a quiet, relaxing stay with fantastic views, both from the patio area off the living area to the fantastic rooftop deck. The mid island location is perfect too for easy access to all the beaches, Esperanza and Isabel Segunda for happy hour and the sunset.

Love Jos's Paradise

We just love it hear at Jose's Paradise, Just the right size for the two of us. great open patio where we eat or meals and relax. We go on the roof deck at night and have wine and cheese and watch horses and cars going up the hill past the house and also can look out over the ocean. very private location with excellent views. This is my fourth year staying hear and we plan to keep coming back. The home is a great value. Gentle breezes, great views and close to everything. What more could you ask for. This year we are going to Bioluminescent Bay for a Kayak tour and maybe some horse back riding. The beaches are so uncrowded and the locals are very friendly. They treat us like a local.

Great house for a couple

We had a great stay at Jose's paradise! The location is off the beaten path, but with easy access to Isabel II and to all the beaches on the south shore. Esperanza is about a 10 minute drive. I would listen to Nate and Rob when they say the house is very well set up for a couple. We thought about adding a third person to our stay, but that would not have worked well given the floor plan. The rooftop deck is amazing! Great views, great breeze, nice shaded area. Rob and Nate are very responsive and were very accommodating.

Great honeymoon in Vieques

We had an amazing stay at Jose's paradise! The location couldn't be better with close proximity to town and to all the beaches on the south shore. The house is very well appointed and the views from the rooftop deck are amazing! Rob and Nate are great guests and were very accommodating. We will definitely be back!

Amazing property, great location!

The house is absolutely great. The large screened windows open up to a great view of the valley below. Kitchen is well equipped to make just about anything you can think of. And of course the rooftop - awesome. Perfect for sunsets, looking at the sea to the north, and just sitting in the hammock for an afternoon nap. I was a bit concerned about the house having no AC for sleeping, but with the fans on and windows open, it was good (mid 80's at night). The location is perfect. The map doesn't display it correctly. It is in the middle of 997, a few minutes from Isabel II and about 10 minutes to Esperanza or the Wildlife Refuge beaches. We will be back for sure! And make sure to kayak the bio bay, tops my list of natural phenomena I've ever seen or experienced.

Beautiful Location and Home - Great Owners

As a frequent traveler on my first trip to Vieques, this home met all of my wants and then some. The breathtaking view from the rooftop deck was a sight that is still imprinted in my head. The property is well-maintained and the house has all of the amenties needed. The location is perfect between Esperanza and Isabel II and the cool breezes at night and interior fans made for a great nights rest. The owners were prompt in initially setting up the rental and after and have great property managers(Barbara and Kris), who met me at Maritza's Car Rental upon arrival. The home's kitchen is perfect for any meal and they have a grill as well. Also, its excellent they have a washer/dryer and a hose to wash off your jeep after days of off-roading fun. Don't even bother looking anywhere else upon stopping at this home. I look forward to coming back to this property and beautiful island.

Wow and Wow

We had an amazing and magical trip to Vieques. The cottage was just amazing. We loved the bay windows an the wonderful rooftop with picturesque views. We took full advantage of the kitchen and watched the sunset during dinner every night. Barbara and Kris were excellent house managers and always available for questions or insights. We did not want to leave the property! But forced ourselves to the beach everyday. We can not wait to return to Vieques and can only hope this place is available when we do. THANK YOU ROB!!!

Beautiful Property.

My wife and I spent our silver honeymoon at Jose's Paradise in Vieques. It was our fifth time in Puerto Rico and third on VQS. Pictures can't really do justice to the beauty of the house, property and gorgeous views. The decorations and appointments to the home are very impressive. Vieques is somewhat of a rustic island (the key to its endearing charm), but this house is anything but rustic. It is modern, comfortable and much attention has been paid to the details. The kitchen is wonderful and includes everything you need to cook a great meal, if you desire. The owners are very amiable and accommodating. The roof deck almost temps you stay at home and ignore the world-class beaches the island is known for. The home opens up nicely to maximize the island breeze through the house and keeps the temperature pretty nice during peak season. You won't be disappointed.

Fabulous Caribbean Adventure!

Get ready for an extraordinary adventure on the isle of Vieques! The views from this house are simply spectacular. The rooftop deck or enclosed patio are perfect for a sunset glass of wine, margaritas, or whatever and just let the panoramic view engulf your senses. House sits on hilltop surrounded by rainforest canopy and wild horses peacefully roam the nearby fields. House is tastefully decorated and cozy, and has all the conveniences needed for food preparation, wifi, grilling outdoors and provides a tranquil evening respite after a day at the beach or in one of the two towns located nearby. Instructions provided by the hosts were more than adequate for opening and closing the huge screen window panels in the living area exposing a view which is 'to die for'. Pack your bags and have an incredible rustic island experience upon your arrival!

We both work as educators and live in Maine. Not a fan of long winters, we first visited Vieques while vacationing on the island of Culebra in 2006. When we heard about how unique and beautiful Vieques was, we thought that a little slice of paradise might be within our financial means. We immediately refinanced our Maine home, then visited Vieques several times and began looking at property. Raw land without title was all we could afford, but we eventually settled on a scrubby hillside lot in the Barrio of Monte Carmelo and took the plunge. After 5 years of building (mostly on our own) the house was complete and ready to enjoy and share with others- The rest is history.

Why they chose this property

Jose's Paradise can boast a number of things that make renting our home an attractive option.
Affordability. Stand alone one bedroom homes are not plentiful on Vieques and our house is perfect for a couple looking for a romantic getaway. The house sits high on a hill with fantastic breezes, wonderful valley views from the ground floor and views of the open Atlantic and Isla Culebra from the rooftop terrace. It is colorfully and tastefully decorated with tile floors throughout, an ensuite bath, and indoor/outdoor living spaces.

Location: We are centrally located and easy to find, located just off of Rt 997, a few minutes walk from the well known Mambo's Colmado ( open 365 days), 10-15 mins drive to the many beaches of Camp Garcia on the National Wildlife Refuge and Sunbay, and only several minutes drive to the town of Isabel for gas, groceries, restaurants, festivals, shopping, etc.

Privacy: While not located in the absolute quiet of the countryside, our house does sit on a half acre lot with plenty of distance from our neighbors which means privacy and relative quiet compared to busy neighborhoods such as Esperanza.

What makes this property unique

The rooftop terrace offers a beautiful vantage point to relax and view the surrounding hills with their visiting horse herds, as well as the panoramic vistas of the Atlantic Ocean and Islas Cuebra y Palominito.
