We had a large corporate group use the home for a two day off-site event. The property offered great amenities and activities for our team events and plenty of space for the team to relax and enjoy each other. Everything was clean and well taken care of and we would highly recommend the house for large families or group events that want to enjoy Lake Norman.

Great to hear the home worked so well as a setting for your team's off-site. Having enough space for both group activities and downtime is exactly what we hope larger groups find here, and we're glad everything was clean and well-maintained for you. Lake Norman is a wonderful backdrop for an event like that. Thank you for the recommendation, and we would love to welcome your team back.

Our stay at Lion's Manor was excellent. The house is well kept, stocked with all essentials and in a great location on Lake Norman for boaters. I would highly recommend and will be rebooking next year.

Wow, perfect house, exceeded our expectations! We were there with our office team of 13 and did a lot of cooking and dining outside and loved it. House in very good shape and very clean. Southern Charm team is extremely responsive and helpful.

Family retreat

This is an amazing property and a great location. The cove is quiet and the kids enjoyed taking out the kayaks and paddle boards without concern for large wakes from motor boats or jet skis. Getting our boat there and docking at the house was super easy, i do wish the boat slip was covered but that is really the only thing that wasn't ideal. When not in the water, the pickle ball court, pool table and ping pong table kept everyone busy. We have come down to lake Norman every year for the padt 15 years and this was by far the best house we have stayed at to date.

I booked this home in spring 2025 for a January 2026 stay. On January 1, 2026, the property changed management. I was told the new company would honor my original reservation, pricing, early check-in, and late checkout, and that they would contact me on January 2 to confirm payment and details. They never did.On January 3, I logged into VRBO and saw the house listed as available for the same weekend I had booked for a group of 20 women traveling from across the country. I had received no communication from the new management company. To secure the house, I had to rebook through VRBO. I requested early check-in and late checkout again but was charged three times the original amount, meaning my original pricing was not honored. After rebooking, the management company then denied my early check-in and late checkout.I was later told I could only request early check-in within 24 hours of arrival. When I did, I was informed early access still might not be possible because the home had not been cleaned or inspected, as it was a newly acquired property. After significant back-and-forth, I eventually received early check-in and late checkout—but only after paying 3 times more than originally promised. The lack of communication, failure to honor the reservation, and failure to honor pricing was unprofessional and stressful. I would never work with this property management company again and will avoid properties under their management in the future.

Thank you for sharing your feedback. We understand how frustrating and stressful this experience was, particularly given the coordination involved for a large group trip and the expectations that had been set prior to the management transition. Property transitions can sometimes create operational and communication challenges as reservations, pricing structures, and policies are transferred between management systems. We recognize your concerns regarding the delay in follow-up communication, the rebooking process through the platform, and the inconsistency surrounding pricing and check-in accommodations. We also understand your disappointment that the experience did not align with the expectations communicated to you initially. Your feedback regarding communication, reservation handling, and guest coordination during ownership or management transitions has been documented and shared internally for review. We appreciate you taking the time to provide detailed feedback, as it helps identify areas where improvements are needed moving forward.
