Spring Break Getaway

Three families with our high school seniors! Accommodations were great and the views tremendous. Easy beach access with an umbrella and 2 chairs included each day! Good restaurants nearby too! We will be back!!

Great location!

Great location directly across the street from the beach with direct beach access. Balcony had a beach view. Little bar & grill next door that had great food (and karaoke on some nights). Room wasn’t finished being cleaned when we arrived at check in time but that’s okay because we had a wonderful time.

Loved this property. Everything about the listing is accurate. Very spacious. We had 2 families, 9 total people and we had plenty of room. Great views from the balcony. Had all of the kitchen supplies needed for cooking, etc. The location is great, near several restaurants. Loved the beachside pool. Would definitely stay here again.

The stay was great. I asked prior to “Realjoy” if beach chair was included and they said “no”. I know no where in list did r mention it, so when I went to the beach with money to pay for rental the guy repeat to say we get on set with the rental of our condo. I was misinformed for rental.

Great space and location

The condo was beautifully furnished, very spacious, and the location was perfect - relaxed, but close to Destin’s amenities. My only negative is that is wasn’t as clean as I expected it to be upon our arrival. I would definitely book the condo again with hopes that the cleaning service would be more thorough.

We loved the condo. An email was sent with check in instructions and check in was flawless. Everything was exactly like advertised. Beautifully decorated and had plenty of room for all 11 of us. I would definitely recommend this room to anyone looking to get away to the gulf. Easy access to the beach and we loved the shower/pool at the beach to wash off all the sand.

Destin vacation

Plenty of room for 13 of us. Great location. Easy/quick walk to private beach. Patio furniture could've been more comfy, tongs broken, shelf in lazy susan feel twice (was resting on crock pot instead of plastic prong), dryer needs looked at. These were just Minor things as the overall stay was fabulous.

Roomy

This condo is very roomy, with rooms being good distance apart for privacy. A wonderful large balcony with decent view of ocean and perfect view of pool in back. Large kitchen, dining room table and living area perfect for large family. We had a few issues while staying but RealJoy resolves all of them quickly and professionally. The owners really need to replace carpets in bedrooms and replace pots and pans in kitchen but otherwise this was a really nice place to stay and we enjoyed our family time!!

It was a nice place but place was not very clean with sand still on bed trash under beds dishes all cracked and chipped furniture outdated and not very clean. For the price not horrible

Great Getaway

Such a great location and setup. The pool on the beach was so convenient and the beach area was perfect. Not crowded at all especially compared to the public areas. I'll start with the only negative, the washer & dryer, then talk about the rest. The only downfall was the washer that had a light mildew odor to it (front loader with the typical smell that starts in the seal) and the dryer that took several times to get things dry. That being said...this place was fantastic! We loved the condo, enough beds for everyone, a great little kitchen, and plenty of bathrooms. The property does not come with a beach spot so we did rent an umbrella & chairs but well worth it to not drag things down to the beach each day. The place was clean and organized. Plenty of items in the kitchen to utilize, just be prepared to buy trash bags, paper towels, and toilet paper on your stay. I can't tell you enough how great this place is, and we looked at a few others while down in the Miramar Beach area. We will certainly book again with this unit! The management company was so easy to deal with and that made it super great when it came to parking the golf carts. I would give this unit a 10 out of 10 if it had a better washer/dryer situation. That was the ONLY negative thing we would even come up with. Do not hesitate to book this unit! And don't forget to check out the Leeward Key live stream on YouTube!

Perfect Location!

First of all, the location of this unit is great! It’s directly across the street from the beach and has two pools that you can use. It’s easy to go back and forth from the condo to the beach. Within the condo there are some things that need improving. It appears that there has been no deep cleaning in a while. The utensil drawer had food crumbs and dirt in it. Frying pans were disgusting and look like they had been put away dirty…they were unusable. There are also limited baking dishes and storage containers. One of the bathrooms has what looks like mold on/around the vents and the paint on the walls looks water soaked. The vent in the bedroom was also very dusty so mush so that there was dust on the wall. The curtains in the master bedroom are closed together with clothes pins as they are too small for the window – only a big deal b/c the sun shines directly in the windows. While the management company did respond to messages/calls, it was frustrating that we had to call them. On the way to the condo we had not gotten any check in instructions. I messaged them and they said they would be sent at 3:30p before check in at 4p. Ok no problem – but at 4p, we still had not received them. Called the office and they sent them then. When we got to the unit the cleaning crew was still cleaning. They were very nice and were out of there in about 15 minutes. Overall we think the location is great but just might pick a different unit next time.

Perfect family vacation!

My husband and I brought our family of 5 kids and 5 of their friends for a Spring Break getaway to Destin. We've been many times before, but this was our first stay at Leeward Key. We were extremely impressed with the condo! The layout is great - perfect for our 6 teenage boys and 4 teenage girls! Everyone had a bed and the bathrooms were ample size for all to have room. Plenty of hot water and tons of extra bath towels, pillows, and blankets. The décor in the condo is beautiful - no detail is overlooked. The kitchen is a great size for big groups and the appliances are top notch! The view is not directly of the water, but you definitely can enjoy the ocean from the large balcony. Our kids loved the easy access codes for the condo and the beach/pool so no one had to keep up with a key. Everything is well thought out and made our stay effortless! The building is in a fabulous area - tons of sidewalks to go exploring in walking distance from restaurants (one being right next door!). We were a bit concerned that the building was across the street from the pool/beach area, but it was never a factor once we saw it in person. It's a short walk and a small, slow street. No problems! The beach area is pristine - lots of room to set up a volleyball net and play all day! The kids loved the heated pool by the beach because the ocean is still pretty cold in March. No hot tub on property, but the beachside pool was nice and warm! The Building is minutes away from Destin Commons as well as the Outlet Mall - we enjoyed both! It's also a 10 minute drive from Destin Harbor so fishing charters, etc. are a quick trip down 98. We had two days of deep sea fishing with Locked Up Charters and caught our limit! Customer service with this unit is awesome - we booked the entire trip online and had absolutely no problems. The RealJoy app made it super easy to get all of the information I needed. We needed a new access code to the beach and all I had to do was make a request through the app and it came back ASAP. Welcome instructions, departure instructions, frequently asked questions, requests, etc. happen instantly, 24/7. What a gift! No checking in at a desk or waiting for someone to meet you with keys. Effortless! This vacation was priceless to us - the memories will last a lifetime. Thanks for an incredible stay - we will definitely come again!

Great location, views were good although not beach front. The sunsets were spectacular from unit.

Overall we enjoyed our stay. It was priced very reasonably. Location was great. The building is nice and the beach is super close. The pool was heated and warm most of the time. This was a huge plus for staying here. The chairs and loungers by the pool and on the beach were great. Kitchen was nice and easy to cook in with all the needed supplies. Beds and linens were nice. Living room TV was big and new. Every room had a tv but we mostly used the living room tv. As soon as we walked in we noticed stains on the sectional so we covered it with blankets to be more comfortable. They need to replace it with furniture that can be cleaned. It’s is a microfiber material. Very comfortable though. The guest bathroom tub water runs and it’s difficult to shut off. The kitchen sink looked new but was not completely done. It’s was as if someone installed it but left everything loose. We had to call maintenance on New Year’s Eve because it was leaking. No one was able to come to look at it due to the holiday so we had to go without a sink for the New Year’s Eve until we finally notice all the knobs were just loose. We tighten everything and it was fine afterwards. One night during a storm we heard a loud noise that went on for several hours. We called them to check the next day and they responded immediately. However they couldn’t tell what it was. It didn’t happen again and they said they would check the exterior of the building to make sure it wasn’t something outside. The management was very quick to respond when we had anything we needed help with. We stayed for about a month. Overall, I recommend this unit. I recommend replacing sectional with easy to clean furniture and replacing carpet but this did not ruin our stay and we felt the price was good for the unit. We would definitely stay here again and we think leeward key is very unique. We had so much privacy and it was a very safe and comfortable. There is a lot to do within walking distance. It was fun to walk to the rolled ice cream store & to the badass coffee shop. We loved just walking up from the beach to the restaurant next door. The parking was great. I highly recommend the units in this building. Positives are location, beach access, private, quiet, clean, safe, heated pool and views. Negative is stains on carpet and sectional. We would definitely stay here again. We enjoyed the complimentary snacks, cokes and games that greeted us upon arrival.

Family vacation

Everything went well. We had problems with air conditioning which were addressed promptly. Loved the location and ease going to the beach.

Absolutely love it!

The property was just like the listing. It was so beautiful upon arrival. It was clean for the most part. Only thing was the floors was gritty. Everything else was on point as far as cleanliness. Two thing I'll say is provide more tissue. It was only one roll per bathroom. Also provide laundry necessities I didn't see any. Great location to the beach and restaurants. I am coming back next year. Thank you for the stay.

Spacious with a great view!

This is a beautiful condo with a great view! We’ve stayed at Leeward Key a few times but this was our first time in this particular unit. What you see in the pictures is exactly what you’ll get. Check in was a breeze. Communication was great. We received our email with the codes timely. There was an issue with the tub (apparently the jets weren’t working and it leaked downstairs)and we didn’t realize there was even an issue until they reached out to me. Someone came up right away and immediately knew what the issue was and simply hit the switch. Some reviews mentioned the cookware was outdated however I felt the cookware was perfectly fine. It wasn’t brand new however it wasn’t old and dirty to where we didn’t want to use it. The only other suggestion would be to have certain things available in the kitchen as a great host such as coffee pods and cabinet items such as sugar etc. and maybe Beach items. Such as beach towels, chairs, and a few beach toys for the kiddos. Sometimes when you’re traveling with a large families you don’t have room for those things. The host that we rent from regularly at Leeward has those things available so we just may be a little spoiled lol. However I understand that they may not be allowed to do that due to Covid. Overall this condo was great, our family had a blast and that’s what’s important. Would definitely recommend and we’d definitely rent from them again.
