If you are looking for a summer visit the old saying that everyone comes to Vail for the winter, but stays for the summer couldn't be truer. There are tremendous opportunities whether you are into hiking, mountain biking or trying the world class fly fishing in Gore Creek that runs through the resort and is right out the front door. The options are endless. Try a walk, run, or bike on the miles of Vail hike and bike trail that runs directly in front of our unit. Follow the trail along Gore Creek into Vail Village or continue the 9 miles to Vail Pass or down to Beaver Creek and beyond. At night head to the Gerald Ford Amphitheater for a symphony concert or watch the international dance competition. There is something for everyone in the summer.

After a day full of skiing/hiking/fishing the world-class terrain of Vail, the Millrace at Cascade offers multiple outdoor hot tubs, pools, steam room and sauna to soothe your hard worked muscles. When its time to call it a night there are plenty of sleeping options for up to 8 people - Master bedroom has a king bed, a second bedroom with a queen bed, the loft area has two twins that can also be joined to form a king, and the Living Room has an American Leather sleeper sofa with a gel foam queen mattress. About James

We are a family of four with two young children who are 5 and 9 years old. We live in Austin, Texas but grew up skiing in the Northeast. We love the mountains and the snow, and wanted our boys to experience that joy as well.

James purchased this condo in 2013

Why James chose Vail

We looked at many properties in Vail and chose this one because of its amazing location, family-friendly amenities, and quiet from highway noise. Being able to ski in/ski out is fabulous for families that want to ski different hours. Plus, it allows easy access to home for midday naps for toddlers. Ski lessons are a just a green run away from the top of the Cascade lift.

The Cascade resort offers many family-friendly activities including s'mores and crafts. The outdoor heated pool and hot tubs are a must for our children.

When it's 8pm and time for them to sleep, there is complete quiet - no highway noise, no village hubbub, no stumbling partygoers. We thought that we might miss the Vail village scene, but it is only a short shuttle ride away and the babysitter can keep the kids easily at peace.

What makes this condo unique

Ski Valet.

When you first arrive, leave your skis and boots with the hotel valet where they will keep your boots dry and warm for you each morning. Walk to the ski valet in the morning by going a short distance up the main road, then right down the service road, up the metal stairs and across the hotel driveway directly to the ski valet. This is the easiest route. Remember your ski/boot number as this is how they will get your equipment each morning. At the end of your trip, you can request to have your equipment ready for you at the hotel valet for easy loading and departure.

Renting Equipment.

If you need to rent equipment for adults or kids, Charter sports is next to the ski valet and offers excellent service and equipment. They are not the most affordable but the convenience and quality is well worth it.

When you are ready to go skiing in the morning, walk up to the ski valet and tell the ski and boot attendants both your number. They will put your skis outside on the rack and give you your boots. After your boots are on, hand them your shoes and tell them your number. Now your ready to hop on the lift (chair 20).

Best New Years EVER!

  • 5 of 5

What a find! This place was absolute perfection for our needs, and we stumbled on it at the last minute. We wanted a quiet Vail getaway with the comfort of home and the convenience of the ski in/ski out treatment. This delivered on all fronts. While we couldn’t ski right up to our back door, there was a shuttle service that took maybe 1 or 2 minutes to bring you to your own personal ski lift/ticket office. That’s right, 1 or 2 minutes. You could absolutely walk that and it would warm up your ski legs perfectly. And did I mention that you essentially have your own personal ski lift with valet ski check. OH MY! We had no idea it was this convenient. You are offset from the main villages of Vail/Lionshead which equals a beautifully quiet and private feel that is worth every penny. Best said it is this perfectly private nook of Vail that made us feel like we had stumbled on to this hidden jewel!

The actual condo was clean, perfectly maintained, and gorgeous inside. The natural wood burning fireplace really set the tone. Plenty of wood was supplied on the balcony. We stayed in and cooked all of our meals because this place was just that cozy….we didn’t dare leave for a meal. The customer service was top notch! We had an infant with us and were provided a high chair and pack-n-play that awaited our arrival. We will be back--thank you James!

Vail condominium stay

  • 5 of 5

We had an excellent experience beginning with the check-in process (quick, simple) through our departure. There were a few minor requests (nothing to do with the accommodations) from us and found management very accommodating. It was a second floor and two story condo so there were many stairs which was no concern to us but may be to others. The master bedroom and bath were luxurious.

Vail Cascade Condo - Millrace

  • 5 of 5

We just spent a wonderful week at this condo and the snow God's came through for us! The pictures on the internet are exactly what you would expect. We are pretty particular about where we stay and this condo was one of the best so far! We found it to be very spacious, comfortable beds, clean, great bathrooms and a nice kitchen with plenty to cook with. The shuttle service from the condo to Lion's Head or Vail Village works pretty well. If you have a car you can drive into either place after 3pm and park for free which is great if you want to go to dinner or do some shopping. The owners are wonderful to work with and check in etc. was a breeze. I will say the walls are fairly thin and sometimes you can hear your neighbors but it did not seem to bother us.

Going Back!

  • 5 of 5

Our group of 8 stayed here last year and have already booked to stay again. The short walk to the ski lift makes vacationing with a group a breeze. Those needing a mid-day break can easily go "home" for lunch, or drop their gear with the ski valet and head in early. Stress free for the rest of the crew wanting to take advantage of a full day of fantastic skiing.

The condo is quite clean and modern as the photos show, the beds are comfortable and the humidifiers in the bedrooms are great for guests whose lips and noses are unaccustomed the dry mountain air. Even though it is in a sizeable complex, the condo is really quiet and the view off the balcony is beautiful. I highly recommend a post-skiing soak in the hot tub overlooking the creek.

We used a rental car to get to condo but after a run to the grocery store, we rarely used it. In the morning we filled the crock pot provided and had dinner waiting, or used the grill to quickly prepare dinner. There are shuttles around town but we preferred to relax at home most evenings.

This is a comfortable condo in a great location. The owners went above and beyond for us. Looking forward to returning.

Beautiful view, comfortable home

  • 5 of 5

We stayed over labor day weekend and loved the experience at 2 E Millrace. The home is very nicely updated and comfortable. There is lots of space on the 2 levels. Garage and driveway parking made it so easy. We enjoyed the deck, the nearby Gore Creek trail and the pool and spa at Aria right across the street. This was our first stay in Cascade Village, and we are so impressed! It's close to everything, yet out of the bustle so you can enjoy the mountain views, trees, and peaceful creek.

The owner James, as well as the management staff, were all so friendly, responsive and easy to work with. The entire condo had everything we needed (each bedroom having a humidifier and fan, boardgames in the living room, fully stocked kitchen).

We will definitely stay here again!

Other fun activities. Our favorite non-skiing activity is tubing at adventure ridge. It is the best tubing that we have ever experienced. As it is a bit more extreme, there is a height requirement of 42'. Adventure ridge also offers mini-snowmobiles for kids. There are playgrounds for kids throughout vail but one is located adjacent to the ice skating rink in Lionshead. Cascade village also offers many different activities from crafts to s'mores.
