Great family retreat with lots of room. Your private beach and dock make for water fun. Bring your boat and other water toys. Excellent fishing off the end of Yellow Bay point. The boat launch is just across the bay at the Yellow Bay State Park. We offer two lake view decks with BBQ and outdoor speakers. Only minutes away from Bigfork or Polson with all the shopping, theater, restaurants and great golf.
It was wonderful having the whole family able to stay here. Plenty of rooms and beds. I love the house layout, and access to the lake. Very kid friendly. Shannon was excellent to work with! Made our vacation very memorable being able to have everyone stay together and still close to many activities! Loved it!
This house is probably one of the best locations on Flathead Lake. Yellow Bay is a family favorite of ours and this is the second time I've enjoyed this house. There is tons of space so everyone can spread out and enjoy themselves! We had 2 babies in our group so the three downstairs bedrooms with their own baths were perfect for our situation. The only reason I gave this house 4 stars instead of 5 is that some of the items seemed rather low end for the price we paid ($750/night w/taxes and other fees). There wasn't quite enough flatware to get through more than one meal, none of the plates or mugs matched, the towels were well worn, etc. However, it had all the kitchen gadgets and appliances one would need to make meals.
This issue is not a deal breaker, and my family will consider renting this house again, but when you think of amenities you might see in a hotel at this price point, you expect higher quality kitchen and bath items. Again, the location is AMAZING and this house is a great size to accommodate a large group!
This house was absolutely perfect for our family vacation! The house has almost everything you will need. The 3 bedrooms in the daylight basement each have a bathroom and 3 separate entrances to the house and the lake. The main level not only has a terrific view of the lake, but a large open kitchen and large dining room table that seats at least 10. The laundry facilities were on the main level and very nice. We brought our boat and launched at Yellow Bay State Park. We would definitely stay again.
It was a grandma's dream vacation for a family of 12, ages 7-68. Clean and spacious it has a well-stocked kitchen with large inside eating area, plenty of beds and those necessary bathrooms. The neighbors were wonderful and Shannon (the property manager) couldn't have been more helpful and accommodating. To attract other boating families, the dock does need a boat lift for windy weather. We had to make arrangements for our boat in Wood's Bay. I can't say enough about the sunsets on the water. If you are lucky enough to live on the water, you are lucky enough. I got to be lucky for a week. Thank you.
This place is great. Plenty of room for everybody. The kitchen was well stocked with everything we needed for cooking and serving. Located conveniently to Polson and Bigfork for shopping and restaurants. Be sure to check out the brewery in Bigfork for some live music, tasty beers and food. Easy day trips to both East and West Glacier park, National Bison Refuge, Wild horse Island (a must see!), Garden Of 1000 buddhas, and everything on the Flathead reservation. The waterfront dock just outside the back door is great for swimming, launching a boat, and just gazing out on the water. The area is also perfect at night for looking at the stars and roasting marsh-mellows over the distinct fire ring. The mud room in the garage is excellent for getting out of messy clothes and shoes and then conveniently located next to the laundry room. Garage is big enough for cars, bikes, kayaks, and any other gear. We stayed in the upstairs bedroom, where the bed was super comfy and the oversized bathroom with jetted tub was a plus after an activity filled day. Cannot say enough positive things about this place. We will most certainly return in the near future. Thank you for a top notch place to stay on our Montana vacation.
The house itself was great for 2 big families, but there were many things that were an issue. We were told the owners prepared the house and not the management company. There was dust on shelves, not enough trash compactor bags, and no outside garbage can to start. We also didn't receive any sort of "Welcome" book that gave info on the area or what needed to be done when we checked out. Only after arriving did we contact the management company with the issues. It was then that we were told check out was 9 am and we were asked to start a load of sheets. We were told to we had to take the garbage ourselves to the town dump, about 10 miles away. That isn't something we should be doing for the amount of money we paid. We were also told that the sprinkler would go off automatically every night on a timer and we should feel free to move it around to get the whole yard. My brother in law looked at the dead grass and decided to look at the sprinkler system. It was set up to go off only once a week. No wonder the grass was dead. He fixed the timer. On one of the cool nights we tried to use the fireplace, it did not work. The next day after contacting the management company again we found out the gas fireplace was never actually hooked up. It shouldn't be advertised as an amenity if it does not work. There were built in outdoor speakers and throughout the house but no receiver hooked up to them to play any music. We tried to use the internet and only had 1 bar. Turns out the internet was from the neighbors and the house did not have that capability. A very big issue since 2 of the family members needed to work while at the lake for a week. The management company apologized about the internet, brought us outside trash cans and new trash compactor bags, and a receiver to be able to use the speakers. We are happy they took care of them but had they made sure the rental was ready, the probably would not have needed too. After we worked out most of the kinks I'm sure renters that follow will have a smoother time. Unfortunately, we had to deal with a week of kinks.

The name Bigfork is derived from the Salish name for the area. There are reports of a homestead and orchard immediately north of Bigfork as early as 1885. Everit L. Sliter set out 500 apple, cherry, plum and pear trees in 1892 on Flathead Lake’s east shore. In 1902. he platted the Bigfork townsite at the mouth of the Swan River. The east shore has since become a major cherry growing area. Wayfarers State Park lies just south of town.(Copyright 2009, Montana Historical Society: Montana Place Names from Alzada to Zortman, Montana Historical Society Research Center Staff).
Bigfork has been distinctly honored with designations in the following publications: The 50 Great Towns in the West, 100 Best Small Art Towns, The Great Towns of America, and National Geographic Guide to Small Towns Escapes. Bigfork is an exceptionally lovely, upscale, year-round resort village that is brimming with art galleries, fine restaurants, golf, high-end boutiques, and live theater.
