Cliff at Lyons is a luxury countryside retreat in Kildare.Today the walled estate comprises a beautifully restored collection of rooms and cottages in historic, stone buildings, surrounding the former mill, courtyard and dovecote. Located just 30 minutes from Dublin city and Dublin Airport, the estate offers countryside tranquillity and period character in equal measure.

Our boutique Kildare accommodation is home to both The Well in the Garden Spa and to our outdoor wellness retreat, Village Thermal, situated in the heart of the village’s extensive gardens.

At the heart of the Cliff at Lyons, Shackleton Mill Restaurant offers a delightful dining experience in a spectacular setting. An exceptional place to enjoy lunch or dinner in Kildare, here you’ll enjoy refined seasonal food, much sourced directly from the estates bountiful gardens.

Shackleton House is a beautiful two-bedroom cottage that immerses couples and families in the rural idyll of Irish country living while retaining all the features and services of our luxury estate.

Spread over two floors, Shackleton House has all you need to be your country home from home, nestled in a quiet corner on Mill Square beside our outdoor fireplace.

Both of the upstairs bedrooms feature comfy four-posters beds and views over the Grand Canal and Dove Square, with silk, wooden panelling, wood floors and soft carpets throughout.

Bay windows catch the sun in each of the traditional rooms, while the scent of fresh roses and lavender lends a familial touch. Shackleton House has very much retained its character from the days when it was part of the 19th century Lyons Village.

It also has an exceptional private garden, perfect for lounging on sunny days, and great for kids.
