●Complimentary coffee, tea, pancake mix, and syrup are provided to help you start your day. Everyday essentials such as basic spices and vegetable oil are also available. Guests are encouraged to bring groceries, as the nearest market is approximately 11 miles away and offers limited selection. For a wider variety, we recommend shopping in Anderson, Redding, or Palo Cedro prior to arrival.

●During the winter months, the cabin is maintained at a consistent temperature of 68–72°F to ensure a comfortable and evenly heated environment throughout your stay.

●Cell service & internet: Cellular service is very limited due to the mountain location. A signal booster is available, though performance may vary by device and carrier. High-speed Starlink Wi-Fi is provided (approx. 195 Mbps download / 43 Mbps upload).

●Power reliability: During high winds, PG&E may implement Public Safety Power Shutoffs with 1–2 days’ advance notice when possible. Winter storms may also cause outages. A backup generator is in place and operated intermittently during outages.

●Winter travel: A 4WD vehicle or tire chains are strongly recommended. Roads are paved and plowed by county/state crews, but snow and ice may still be present.

●Cabin character: The cabin features a metal roof, so the sound of rain may be heard indoors. Some interior wood finishes are intentionally rough-sawn, reflecting the rustic design of the space.

I’ve always loved the outdoors—being near lakes where you can kayak or paddleboard, sitting by a quiet creek, hiking through the mountains, and just taking in fresh air and wide-open views. That love for nature is really what inspired Lassen Red Fir Cabin.
This area is special to me because it offers all of that in one place—forests, lakes, creeks, and easy access to the mountains and trails. I wanted to create a space where guests can experience the same kind of peaceful outdoor lifestyle I enjoy, whether that’s spending the day exploring Lassen Volcanic National Park, relaxing by the fire pit, or simply slowing down under the trees.
My hope is that guests feel at home here in nature the same way I do—comfortable, relaxed, and connected to the outdoors.
