Overview

About the property

House, 4 Bedrooms, 2 Baths, (Sleeps 8-10)

This creek is ALWAYS full!

A complete remodel of the kitchen and dining room made this 1930's bungalow a real treat for vacationers! Granite counter tops and stainless appliances attest to the quality of the home, while the fantastic old double hung windows and cedar plank walls of the living room and bedrooms retain the original woodsy craftsman feel.

Numerous windows and the Deck look out on the spectacular spring creek tumbling at the base of a 2 Giant Sequoias, Huge Cedars and Massive Pines. Flowering Dogwood trees, Trilliums, and wild blackberry and raspberry and wild flowers grace the creeks edge. It's a very clean spring creek that bubbles out of the ground a few miles upstream that never varies its flow much, winter or summer.

Relaxing in this home may turn out to be your favorite part of the vacation!

What a hideaway

  • 5 of 5

We had an amazing week at the cabin. Used is as a base to explore the area and Lassen NP, then played in the creek every afternoon with our lab. I was amazed at how much water was flowing late in September. Enjoyed going to sleep each night listening to the creek. The house has everything you need from BBQ to dish TV. Well equipped kitchen and plenty of room. Michael was a great host....great to meet him on the first day.

Sweet Spot in the Woods

  • 5 of 5

We really enjoyed this cabin, it's in such a beautiful setting!! Great way to get away from crowds and traffic. It was a quick drive to Lassen National park as well as fun things to do in Redding. The owner was very helpful, and the kids in our family just loved the little creek in the back yard!

My only comment would be to let people know that the bedroom layout is a bit funny for privacy - although there are 4 "bedrooms," only two are really private - you need to walk through the other two bedrooms to access the private ones, and the bathrooms as well. This wasn't a huge deal for us, but did result in a lot of tiptoeing around sleeping children.

Lovely location, attentive host, comfortable beds and a well-stocked kitchen.

  • 4 of 5

Two bedrooms require passage through other bedrooms for access. This is fine for families and close friends but could be awkward for others. When all bedrooms are full a few more towels are needed -and one box of tissues would be nice. The cabin was comfortable and cozy.

Perfect Lassen Getaway

  • 5 of 5

Perfect distance from the north end of Lassen Volcanic National Park and other Lassen National Forest adventures. Michael was the perfect host and was there when we checked in to answer all of our questions. Between the tall redwoods and the mountain creek, we couldn't have asked for anything more. The cabin was clean, the beds were comfortable and the kitchen was stocked with all the essentials. For large shopping stop in Redding. Shingletown has a mini mart and a very small grocery store. Pizza place and bar in town isn't too bad either.

Great getaway!

  • 5 of 5

Our family of 8 really enjoyed our stay here. The creek was very enjoyable as well as the outdoor fire pit. The house was very comfortable and has everything we needed. Lassen park was 30 minutes away and Burney Falls was an hour from the house. We took day trips to both. These are both worth the short drive to see. We went during an extremely hot time of year and although the house doesn't have central air they provide a number of fans and with the creek and the evening breeze we were comfortable. We will definitely rent the property again!

Michael was a very welcoming host!
