Escape the hectic pace with a stay at The FARM at 2407. Our 2 year project to convert an 1886 vintage cattle farm into a pleasant getaway is now complete. We are converting pastures and cropfields into wildflowers, wetlands and habitat suitable for birds of all species , especially Bobwhite Quail. Come and enjoy our nesting(in season) herons,red winged blackbirds, blue birds,barn and tree swallows , ducks, geese, deer, turkeys and so much more! You can experience this from hiking over several miles of trails or simply sitting on one of the porches. Are you a hiker? In addition to our trails we are close to the C+O Canal. A biker? Ditto. A Civil War buff? We are 12 minutes to Shepherdstown, 21 to Sharpsburg and about 45 to Harpers Ferry. A fisherman? Catch your fresh bluegill and catfish dinner at the pond . We ask that you release any bass. Feeding the fish at the dock is great entertainment as well. PICKLEBALL player? Two Championship courts will be complete by August 2025. What a great place to have a Pickleball Rendezvous (as we call them) and gather friends you've met at tournaments for some competition ,fun and friendship. Have horses? Bring them! When you aren't riding the Canal or on our trails , your equine pals can relax in our 1/4 acre 3 board, 5 foot paddock with run in shelter. You may want to hold a group event here as we have plenty of room for trailers. For many years, we have been VRBO customers and often commented," if we had a place it would have ( fill in the blank).
