The Whaler Resort has just completed it's re-modeling project that included re-tiling the lanais of each floor,along with new planter boxes, new roof, and painting the exterior of the two towers.This project came on the heels of having just completed a major overall remodeling of the property including, but not limited to landscaping, oceanfront pool upgrades, new hallway flooring, and wall covering on each floor and much more. All of these projects have positioned our property once again as one of the most prestigous world class resorts in West Maui. Our unit simultaneously underwent a full remodel to match the 5 star standards in keeping with the resort.
Our beautiful island home is located in Tower II and sits just one unit back from the OCEANFRONT spot. We chose this specific location because of it's spectacular oceanfront and beachfront views from within the unit. We enjoy being able to sit in our living room or right from our bed and having an unobstructed view of miles of ocean. Our condo offers an exceptional view of Kaanapali Beach with it's wide stretch of soft white sand all the way to the most well known snorkel and scuba diving site on Maui called Black Rock. As you can see from the photos there is no compromise on our views no matter which room you're in. We've added mirrored walls in both the living room and master bedroom so you get a sense of a panoramic oceanview within the condo itself! You'll wake up in the morning and right from your bed you'll begin your day witnessing the most magnificent ocean surf, tropical palms swaying in a gentle breeze and the spectacular blue water that just beckons you to jump in! If your blessed with a brief tropical shower then expect a beautiful rainbow to appear just to add another touch of magic to your day!
Start your morning with a leisurely breakfast on your lanai, and watch as the surfers and parasailers master the waves.Or,if you happen to be one of the lucky ones here visiting during whale season, just sit back and marvel at the the magnificent show of the humpback whales as they glide gracefully through the water.It's only a short stroll next door to the Whalers Village the largest outdoor shopping center on Maui. You'll find a myriad of fine restaurants or casual family dining, convenience stores, boutique shopping, first class art galleries,live entertainment and so much more. And if you're inclined to take advantage of the many water adventures most start directly from Kaanapali Beach ~ now how convenient is that!
Our choices of furnishings were designed for comfort and convenience condusive to the tropical climate without compromising on the everyday amenities that we've all come to enjoy at home. We've stocked our kitchen with a few 'extra' cooking essentials like a rice cooker, coffee grinder, and extra baking tools for those inclined. We thoroughly enjoy the luxury of cooking in our open kitchen and still being able to see the ocean.
Our master bedroom features a extremely comfortable king bed, all new downlike pillows with extras for added convenience. Flat screens in both living room and bedroom and attention to detail with added features like ipod and iphone docs. We've listened carefully to what our guests like and their preferences on amenities and believe we have hit the mark!
Our on island management company is available to assist you with any of your island activities, car rental needs or perhaps arranging for advance grocery delivery service for your arrival. Feel free to call them anytime for assistance throughout your stay.

Fabulous Stay at The Whaler 456
Our experience in this condo was wonderful! We loved every minute of it. The views were just amazing and so relaxing. Condo was very well appointed with everything we needed. Having the full size washer and dryer was a great plus! Bed was very comfortable. Loved being right next door to Whaler's Village and great restaurants! An A+ experience for us. Thank you so much.

Beautiful views and unit!
The view is excellent, the location is great and the unit was clean. We would’ve given it 5 stars, but we thought the bed was a bit too firm and the pillows were very flat and need to be replaced. If those two things were updated it would be pretty much perfect.

The view is awesome!
This is a really nice place with an excellent location and view on Ka'annapali beach. Kitchen is well stocked and updated. The living room is average with very little tropical decor, but comfortable and roomy. The bedroom has a comfortable King bed and separate A/C thermostat. The bathroom vanity with double sinks is located in a common area and nicely updated. The reason for 4 stars is the bathroom; tub/shower/toilette area is in need of updating.

Wonderful Condo - Exceptional view
This is one of many stays for us in Maui and the 4th at the Whaler but our first in this unit. This one was wonderful. So much room and nicely decorated with all the comforts of home. The view was perfect and we loved all the amenities the unit had for us to use. We will definitely be back.

One of the Best
We have stayed at several units at the Whaler over the years, but this was by far one of the best. The view was perfect - high enough for privacy (4th floor) but low enough so this mom doesn't get fearful with her kids on the lanai! Speaking of which, we always love how big the lanais are at the Whaler, and this unit's is particularly wonderful due to the high table (so you don't sit in a chair and look through the railing) and the lounge chairs. Although we might have preferred two bathrooms for our family of four (mostly to hang wet bathing suits), the bathroom here is so spacious. We also loved the convenience of having a washer/dryer in the unit. Our only request would have been to have more racks to hang our towels by the sink and in the shower area. The kitchen had everything we needed, and it was nice to have breakfast, lunch and even a few dinners in the unit. The mirrors in the living room and bedroom really accentuated the view!
You can't go wrong staying at the Whaler, as the units are so spacious (since they were built in the late 1970's). So much better than staying in a small hotel room with four people. Here you can completely relax, as you don't feel crammed together. We were glad that there were beach chairs, as we prefer to be in the ocean, though we did enjoy the pool area. Unlike most hotels where people put their towels down first thing in the morning and keep them there all day, there wasn't that feeling here that you had to rush down.
One of the best things about the Whaler is also that you don't have to drive if you don't want to. You can walk to restaurants and stores, and the beach is the best! Some of the snorkeling and whale watching boats even come right onto Kaanapali Beach, so you don't have to drive to Lahaina (though it's a short distance).

Great Location, View and Accommodations
Wow....This is an exceptional unit in a great location with beautiful views. The unit is superbly decorated with higher end TVs, washer/dryer, dual a/c units and the kitchen is equipped with everything we needed for meals and snacks. The lanai is large and has a table for dining and chaise lounges for kicking back. With the great view of the beach and Black Rock we spent quite a bit of time in the chaise lounges. The location is very close to shopping and restaurants and only a short drive to Lahaina. The unit was very clean and the grounds were well maintained. The pool and beach facilities and services were very good. This was our third vacation to Maui and this was by far our best accommodations, I don’t think it could be any better.
We could tell the owners take pride in their unit and we want them to know that it was appreciated and enjoyed. The unit was a key part of what we considered a perfect vacation in paradise. Mahalo.

Boardwalk front this property provides eash access along the beach to all area attractions including the largest outdoor shopping mall at Whaler's Village, live entertainment, boutique shops, fine dining and casual dining and all water sport activities including catamaran excursions, whale watching trips (in season) trips to outer islands and more!
