Beautiful Maui Condo

Having stayed at the "Whaler" several times in the past 20 years, we found our stay in this beautifully remodeled condo PERFECT for our family of four and the nicest one to date. Not only was the condo equiped for all of our needs, it was very convenient to have a washer and dryer in the unit as well! As for the view and location------incomparable!

Fabulous Stay at The Whaler 456

Our experience in this condo was wonderful! We loved every minute of it. The views were just amazing and so relaxing. Condo was very well appointed with everything we needed. Having the full size washer and dryer was a great plus! Bed was very comfortable. Loved being right next door to Whaler's Village and great restaurants! An A+ experience for us. Thank you so much.

Beautiful views and unit!

The view is excellent, the location is great and the unit was clean. We would’ve given it 5 stars, but we thought the bed was a bit too firm and the pillows were very flat and need to be replaced. If those two things were updated it would be pretty much perfect.

My wife and I had a really nice stay. The unit was well stocked with enough of everything to get us going. The bed was very comfortable. The views were great from anywhere in the unit because of all the mirrors. It would be nice to have a sponge in the kitchen instead of having to use a dish cloth. Washer and Dryer worked great. We really enjoy the Whaler. Great dinner at the Hula Grill, a very convenient walk. Mahalo! John & Jayne

Wonderful stay at The Whaler

The Whaler is very conveniently located, right on the long beach, near restaurants and shops. Don't have to use your car unless needing additional groceries. Our unit had a supreme view of Black Rock. The grounds are very well kept and staff was excellent. The unit had very good furnishings on the lanai but interior needs an upgrade. Kitchen utensils and supplies were sparse, at best. Bathroom is outdated. Instructions for control of the TV's were totally wrong, very frustrating. Need accurate instructions. Overall, we will definitely come back to The Whaler but not to this unit unless it gets an update/upgrade.

Sad times in Maui :(

We had a wonderful stay for 5 days until the lights went out in the early morning of August 8, 2023, then the horror of the fire in Lahaina :( Many displaced people along the beach trying to figure out what was next for them, people vacationing at The Whaler barbecuing their food that was sure to spoil and sharing stories about what they knew about the tragedy. The staff at The Whaler were very accommodating and kept us up to date on anything we needed to know! We loved staying there and will definitely return when things settle down for all the locals.

Poor Wi-Fi instructions… and it needed to be reconfigured. Cockroaches in the kitchen on the first day. I am not able to turn ceiling fans on. Otherwise, a wonderful property!

Great Location, View and Accommodations

Wow....This is an exceptional unit in a great location with beautiful views. The unit is superbly decorated with higher end TVs, washer/dryer, dual a/c units and the kitchen is equipped with everything we needed for meals and snacks. The lanai is large and has a table for dining and chaise lounges for kicking back. With the great view of the beach and Black Rock we spent quite a bit of time in the chaise lounges. The location is very close to shopping and restaurants and only a short drive to Lahaina. The unit was very clean and the grounds were well maintained. The pool and beach facilities and services were very good. This was our third vacation to Maui and this was by far our best accommodations, I don’t think it could be any better. We could tell the owners take pride in their unit and we want them to know that it was appreciated and enjoyed. The unit was a key part of what we considered a perfect vacation in paradise. Mahalo.

One of the Best

We have stayed at several units at the Whaler over the years, but this was by far one of the best. The view was perfect - high enough for privacy (4th floor) but low enough so this mom doesn't get fearful with her kids on the lanai! Speaking of which, we always love how big the lanais are at the Whaler, and this unit's is particularly wonderful due to the high table (so you don't sit in a chair and look through the railing) and the lounge chairs. Although we might have preferred two bathrooms for our family of four (mostly to hang wet bathing suits), the bathroom here is so spacious. We also loved the convenience of having a washer/dryer in the unit. Our only request would have been to have more racks to hang our towels by the sink and in the shower area. The kitchen had everything we needed, and it was nice to have breakfast, lunch and even a few dinners in the unit. The mirrors in the living room and bedroom really accentuated the view! You can't go wrong staying at the Whaler, as the units are so spacious (since they were built in the late 1970's). So much better than staying in a small hotel room with four people. Here you can completely relax, as you don't feel crammed together. We were glad that there were beach chairs, as we prefer to be in the ocean, though we did enjoy the pool area. Unlike most hotels where people put their towels down first thing in the morning and keep them there all day, there wasn't that feeling here that you had to rush down. One of the best things about the Whaler is also that you don't have to drive if you don't want to. You can walk to restaurants and stores, and the beach is the best! Some of the snorkeling and whale watching boats even come right onto Kaanapali Beach, so you don't have to drive to Lahaina (though it's a short distance).

Best location but not the best Host!

Love the location and the unit. But disappointed with our Host. For a premium rental, it’s the first time we have to buy our own shampoo, soap, Kleenex. No coffee or tea provided. Too many fees added onto the initial rental cost.

This condo was amazing! Upon arriving at the front desk to check in to the moment we checked out, it far exceeded our expectations. The condo was perfect! It was immaculate, spacious, the kitchen was fully equipped, newer washer and dryer and a very spacious bedroom with lovely adjoining bath. The balcony was perfect for breakfast and amazing for sunset views, ocean & pool views. The grounds were immaculate and a pleasure to look onto. A lovely fountain and coi pond were lovely to look at. We cannot wait to return!

The location and floor level was excellent. The kitchen is a little worn. Would be safer to have an automatic shut off coffeemaker, liquid soap for washing hands and another for the shower would be nuce.

Great Condo, Great View!

This was our 2nd stay at The Whaler 456. Although the Covid-19 virus dampened our spirits we tried to keep a positive outlook! The staff at the Whaler is great as they were very visable keeping things as safe as possible for their guest. Kudos to them! Hopefully we will be able to return next year?

We really enjoyed our stay. Thank you for such a lovely place. Staff at resort are the best. There are no towel racks so wet towels hung over TV, chair backs, etc. Needs cutlery knives and more bowls to cook with. For two people this is great. Four people would get frustrated.

Fantastic Location!

The Whaler is a beautifully kept condo community with a great pool and attentive staff. We loved the central location and being able to walk to shops and restaurants in Whalers Village. Lahaina and Kapalua are only a short car ride away. We stayed in unit 456. The kitchen, bath, master bedroom and lanai were wonderful. The living room was a little lacking in furniture and decor but all of the basics were there. It would have been nice if the kitchen had a few more pre-stocked essentials like Tupperware, ziplock bags, and foil/plastic wrap. An extra set of linenes would have been nice as well. But it did not detract from our experience, we’ll definitely be back!

Amazing Maui vacation

My only complaint is that we didn't book more time to enjoy this beautiful condo and amazing island. Everything was just as pictured, check-in was quick and painless and the staff on property was very nice and friendly. The location of this condo was perfect. If there wasn't so much to explore on the island, there would be no need to leave this area. Shopping, food, beach and every excursion you could think of was available within a 2 minute walk. Thank you for sharing your beautiful home! My family will cherish the memories we made here for a lifetime.
