Beautiful vacation home in the Umbrian hills - only 12 min from famous Montone

Casale San Cristoforo is a peaceful hidden gem on the Coldipozzo hills overlooking the medieval hilltop town Montone. San Cristoforo is the patron saint of travellers. It took us many cities and countries to get here, but we did, and we decided to stay for good.

We are a well travelled family of four and would be happy to have you as our neighbours during your stay in Umbria. Umbria is one of the least known but most beautiful regions of Italy. It is called the green heart of Italy. We fell in love with Umbria 13 years ago and are still amazed every single day. The people, the culture, the food, the historic towns- there is simply beauty in everything.

Stay at Casale San Cristoforo and enjoy a luxurious escape alongside nature and tranquility. You can explore our olive groves, watch our chickens roam in the vineyard or just lean back and enjoy the concert of the wild birds. Experience true nature and everything it has to offer. It’s pure magic.

The interior designed guest house mixes old and new, rustic and modern, and reflects us and our journey through life. We wanted to keep the Italian aesthetics and mix it with the modern. The house boasts artisanally recrafted wooden furniture mixed with designer pieces.

Sleep completely organic in our organic mattresses, bedding and bed linen. We take great care to select the best products for you and our planet. Therefore, we love brands such as “Hessnatur” and “Grüne Erde” in which you can enjoy the healthiest and most comfortable sleep. In the bathroom you can enjoy our organic towels alongside carefully selected washing gels.

You will find a fully equipped kitchen with a Smeg fridge and an Ilve oven. Your Nespresso machine will offer you a fresh coffee you can enjoy on the terrace while watching the morning “glow”. We would be happy to tell you about local cheese and meat farms, also organic, so you can prepare your aperitif in the right manner. As a warm welcome to this wonderful region we provide two Umbrian wines, a red and white, for you to enjoy. This could be either for aperitif or a dinner outside on your own terrace. We can give you restaurant recommendations as the area has everything on offer, from simple, delicious, home cooked meals to Michelin star dining. We have plenty lovely restaurants nearby.

Sit on our relaxing lounge chairs and enjoy the last rays of sunshine while sipping a wonderful Umbrian wine (be it white, rose or red). If you fancy a wine tasting, we are very happy to recommend places to go and can also help organise an exceptional experience. Cooking and pasta making classes with a wonderful local chef are also available upon request.

Cyclists are very welcome - my husband would be thrilled to recommend beautiful routes around the area. For those who love Pilates we provide mats and foam rollers which can be used in the garden, terrace or inside spaces.
