My fiancé and I went for the week for the 4th of July. We had the best time. Timmy and Rose were the nicest people you could ever meet. The hospitality and the way they welcome you makes you feel like you are family. It was very hard to leave at the end of the week. The cabins were beautiful and the fishing was awesome! If you want to relax and just get away from your busy life this is absolutely the place to go. We can not wait to go back again. This is our new vacation spot. Thank you Timmy and Rose for everything...we miss you guys and can not wait to come back and stay. Keep up the excellent work and service you both provide. It is greatly appreciated!!

A Little Slice of Heaven

  • 5 of 5

My husband and I always try to get away for a few days in April to celebrate our anniversary. We've had some unique experiences with selecting cabins or other rentals (site unseen) from internet sites. This year, we were looking forward to 4 or 5 days of relaxing, fishing and reading. When we arrived at our cabin, we were welcomed to breathtaking views and a cabin that was even nicer than the photos we had seen on their site. The hospitality shown us by Rose, Timmy and their boys made us feel so very welcome and as a result we extended our trip an additional 5 days! We were showered with so many acts of kindness, it would be impossible to mention them all, but a sampling would include, delicious homemade goodies, visits and invitations to experience all that Russell Springs has to offer, along with just being made feel like welcome guests by a family opposed to a "cold" hotel experience. The cabin lacked absolutely NOTHING! From the completely stocked kitchen, beautiful furnishings to any toiletry you could ask for, we needed nor wanted for anything! The relaxing porch and hammock are perfect for reading and my husband fished until exhausted! The setting of the cabin allows for a very quiet and restful visit. The daily walks around the lake allowed us to enjoy some of the wildlife in the area and the sound of the church bells in the distance was magical! The experience spoiled us for sure and we look forward to returning; this time we will be looking forward to visiting with very dear friends. Thank you Rose, Timmy, Tyler, Brandon and Brentley for an amazing trip! We can't begin to thank you enough! God Bless, Bobbie & Michael Ely, Canton, GA

My best friend is turning 70 this year and LOVES to fish. We are both obsessed with fishing. We arrived at the cabin on Monday, April 18 and fell in love with this cabin. Rose had decorated the front entrance with a "Happy Birthday" banner and balloons. When we went inside, she had also left a gift for my friend, a Birthday card and when we opened the fridge, there was a Very delicious cherry cheesecake!!! Rose and Timmy are the best. We felt right at home. And the fishing was, to put it mildly....GREAT. We caught so many bass, bluegill and crappie that we lost count after the first hour. And we are obsessed with fishing. We got up and 3:00 and 4:00 a.m. each morning just so we could fish. But, as great as the fishing was, the kindness of Timmy and Rose, along with the wonderful cabin were more than we could have asked for. I know that my friend will never forget this Birthday!! Thank you so much for our wonderful stay at your cabin!!!!!

Owner's Response: Thank you Candis for the spectacular review. Timmy and I feel so blessed that you chose our property to celebrate your friend's 70th birthday. We hope that it was her best birthday ever! The both of you are truly devoted fisher ladies. Not very many people gets up at that time of the morning to start fishing. It was a pleasure and a privilege to have met you and to have you as our guest. Take care and please know that you will always be welcomed at Peaceful Valley Lake and Cabins... Thank you again Timmy and Rose

I found this little slice of paradise browsing for a trip for my girlfriend and I in between Christmas and New Years. We wanted a place in the country, a cabin, to just hub-bub and noise of the city...any city....just peace and quite.

What we got was so, so very much more. Starting with Timmy and Rose, the proprietors....two of the most authentic, down to earth, honest, wholesome, genuine people we have ever met. When we showed up, the cabin was unlocked and ready to go....Rose had made the most incredible fudge and candies as a welcome....and Timmy was there working on a new cabin (which looks to be a real beauty!) and stopped to show us around and get us settled.

The views were incredible from the back porch of the little one room cabin in the middle of the lake.... but the real golden moment was at night as we lay in bed....not a sound was to be heard except the distant hooting of an owl, and as a storm moved in, the sound of the rain on the tin roof....magical....

The weather wasn't the greatest, so we didn't get to use the boat that came with the rental and we didn't bring fishing gear. However, there was a bucket of fish food that you could use to feed the fish and some of the bass and bluegill that swam to the top to gobble it down were humongous!

The cabin was incredibly clean and came stocked with all of the basic well as some stuff in the fridge! All of the accoutrement was perfect from the bed spread to the the perfect out-in-the-woods, country feel.

The 6 acre lake is fed by a fresh natural spring and is beautiful!

All in all, it was a tremendous get away and we will definitely be back as soon as we can arrange our vacations!!!!

Owner's Response: Wow, I'm speechless. The words thank you isn't enough to say. This review is just like yourselves.... exceptionally outstanding. It is a true pleasure to that you, our, guest can relax and enjoy yourselves. Your happiness is our top priority. The fish loves to be fed. We just haven't figured out if our guest has spoiled them by feeding them, or if the fish has spoiled our guest by just watching them swim around. The sound of rain on the metal roof is magical. We will cross our fingers that the weather will be better for your return. Timmy and I look very forward to seeing you again. The both of you was honestly a pleasure to have met and to have visited with. Take care, and may you be both be blessed in the new year 2016. Your friends, Timmy and Rose

Peace in the Valley

  • 5 of 5

While this review may not be as poetic as our guestbook entry, I couldn’t in good conscience not take a few minutes to write a little something about our long weekend at Peaceful Valley Cabins.

Timmy and Rose were amazing hosts. The cabin was quaint, inviting, clean, WARM, and equipped with everything we needed for a few days of peace and quiet… and fishing!

Upon arriving at the cabin, we resolved NOT to turn on the tv during our three days there. It was an excellent decision, as there was so much to enjoy outdoors that neither of us missed the tv one bit. From the fire pit, to the boat, to fishing from the banks surrounding the cabin, we were never lacking for something to do.

On our last day, I commented that I felt as though we had traveled back in time a bit. It had been a good while since I’d heard church bells ring out on a Sunday morning, or spent more than a few hours without some form of modern technology – though it is available at Peaceful Valley if needed! The experience was relaxing, restorative, and above all, memorable.

So thank you, Timmy and Rose, for the hospitality, good conversation, and the cheesecake!

Owner's Response: Timmy and I had the best time visiting with you both. That was the most we had laughed for a while. It means so much to us to have the pleasure of meeting the both of you, and knowing that you enjoyed your stay is thrilling, also an honor. Listening to the church bells ringing on Sunday morning and evening always makes you want to stop and listen for a few minutes. Thank you so much for staying at the cabin, for such a splendid review, most of all for your friendship. Lets not forget the poem you wrote in our guest book. We look forward to seeing you again. Take care my friends. Timmy and Rose

A little peace of heaven

  • 5 of 5

Sitting on the porch every morning drinking hot apple cider overlooking the peaceful lake and admiring nature dressed in fine Fall foliage. This was the best way to spend our anniversary and the perfect place to do so!! The cabin is charming, clean & comfortable with all the amenities for a quiet stay. The wrap around porch you could fish off or just feed the fish was just the best part of the cabin. The other 2 cabins are far away enough for privacy yet close enough if you wanted to visit. Our hosts Timmy & Rose are just wonderful and so thoughtful. They make you feel like your visiting family, so warm & welcoming! Thank you Rose for the pie and anniversary gift! Timmy, we'll text you when we are ready for our next trip (wink, wink). Highly recommend staying here if you want to truly rest from the day to day busyness and just enjoy the beauty and the good folks of Peaceful Valley Cabins! We plan on returning hopefullly every year!!!
