Why Elizabeth McDonald chose Templeton
This is a dream home, as romantic and serene as they come. Sit poolside and just lounge and read a book. Listen to the sounds of nature. Meanwhile my favorite seaside towns are only a few minutes away.
What makes this House unique
Very peaceful get-away, serene setting such that you never have to leave. Go for a walk on the 5 acres, a swim in the pool, or just relax and take in the scenery and wildlife.

Beautiful place to unwind and relax!
We spent a fabulous birthday weekend at the ranch - the house accommodated 10 of us comfortably and the pool, jacuzzi, patios and view were amazing. The large and well-stocked kitchen was perfect for our private chef dinner and the dining table was just the right size. And to top it all off, the mama deer and her fawns who greeted us at sunset were as cute as could be.
My guests enjoyed the weekend very much and we will be back!!
Beautiful house and outside area. Did miss the game room though. It isn’t available.
The house was perfect for my family of eight. It is spread out and had plenty of room in and out. Two negatives: the towels were not soft and I didn’t know where I could take a long walk. The road is too busy. I would easily stay there again, but I would take my own towels. Tina was great about her quick response re: WiFi.
We enjoyed the house and beautiful surroundings
Relaxing and Welcoming!
The house is really nice. It's is open, airy, and welcoming. The property is out of the way, quiet, surrounded by natural scenery. The kitchen is well-equipped, so it was fun to make meals and then hang out by the pool. Bedrooms and bathrooms are nicely spaced throughout the house, so everyone had privacy and quiet sleeping space. The beds were also super comfy. It was awesome to have a pool to alleviate the heat! On our last day, a mother and baby deer sat in the shade in the side yard. It was so peaceful to see them. :)
We had a few complaints that I'll list here, but overall I want to make it clear that it was a wonderful place to stay and I'd love to stay here again!
1) The wifi was just a hot spot, so we didn't really have a home-base wifi to sign on to. My husband may have had to work remotely, so this wouldn't have been possible from the wifi system provided. The limited wifi should be clearly advertised.
2) The pool's floor surface was rough. We played a volleyball kind of game in the pool and a few of us kind of mangled the skin on our feet during it.
3) Lots of rules. We totally understand the need for rules, but we were confused by some of them and wondered if we were doing what we needed to get our deposit back. Maybe clarify and simplify the house rules.
If you are looking for a rental property in the Templeton area you wont be disappointed, this home is beautiful and VERY roomie. We had 10 adults staying at this home and we had plenty of room for everyone!! Our main reason for staying in the Templeton area was to visit with some family members. We had a bbq on Saturday with our family members and they were also blown away at how beautiful the home was. Needless to say there was plenty of room for hosting a dinner party with our family as well.
Also during our stay we went to Morro Bay and Hearst Castle. The drive there was beautiful and it was not that long of a drive.
We are so happy to have found this home, Thank you Elizabeth for letting us use your beautiful home.
Templeton Ranch House is the BEST!
Our family stayed at Elizabeth and Tina's Ranch House for our daughter's wedding in the Paso Robles area. It was the perfect home for such an event, for we were able to spread out to complete some projects and the ladies were able to get ready in the separate wing of the house. This home also allows for enjoyable outdoor dining, the pool is kept at a wonderfully warm temperature, and the green grass adds to the ambiance. We were allowed to bring dogs and they were super happy as well. The home is also well stocked of towels and sheets. You really feel like you're home away from home. The pictures don't begin to depict how wonderful this home is--cozy yet expansive. We highly recommend it!
The Ranch House Resort is in the lovely rolling hills of San Luis Obispo in the heart of the wine country close to wineries, shopping, fine dining, golf, and the all the activities the ocean has to offer.
