About Eileen and Richard Reinders

Born and raised in Santa Fe and very knowledgeable about the area. We live on the vineyard and enjoy hosting our guests.

Eileen and Richard Reinders purchased this cottage in 2007

Why Eileen and Richard Reinders chose Pojoaque

We found the property and saw it had an abandoned vineyard. We reclaimed the vines and named the property Estrella Del Norte Vineyard. We are 20 minutes north of Santa Fe in the beautiful Pojoaque/Nambe Valley. We are a perfect location for travelers who enjoy being "off the beaten path" and immersed in the culture of Northern New Mexico.

What makes this cottage unique

Our vineyard location is situated in an area where outdoor activities such as hiking, biking, rafting and fishing are conveniently located. Casinos and hot springs are close driving distance. Just 20 minutes from the heart of Santa Fe where numerous galleries, museums, top restaurants, music and festivals can be enjoyed. Beauty and massage spas are just minutes away. We can assist guests with reservations and day-trip planning.

Great get away from hustle and bustle. Casita reflected the landscape of New Mexico.

  • 4 of 5

The casita was well kept, had all necessities needed. Able to relax. Eileen greeted us and made us feel welcome from the get go. Able to come and go without bothering anyone. Thanks for the opportunity to stay. Nice to say we stayed in a working vineyard. Recommend to others!!!

Very quiet and relaxing

  • 4 of 5

Wonderful patio area to enjoy a glass of wine and relax after a day of exploring the beautiful Santa Fe area. Very easy access to the day trips and places we wanted to visit. Could have used a bit of sprucing up before we arrived...a bit dusty. Overall, we loved our stay and would definitely rent again.

Owner's Response: Delores, it was a pleasure meeting you and Sandy. You were great guests to host at our vineyard casita and we hope to see you again. Thank you for selecting our location for your vacation stay. I recall we had some tremendous winds which blew a lot of dust just before you arrived. We'll make it a point to double dust next time those winds come up. Best wishes for your travel adventures. Salud amigas!

Nice location outside of Santa Fe.

  • 5 of 5

My wife and I enjoyed a two night stay over Memorial Day weekend. We had stayed in Santa Fe before, but it was good to experience a different part. We enjoyed sitting on the patio amongst the grapevines. Very relaxing place to stay.

Recent stay

The area was beautiful and the casita was very private. We loved having a wine tasting when we arrived also. The kitchen is equipped for minimal cooking, but we enjoyed the local places for our meals. The owners and staff were very friendly and the stay was enjoyable and relaxing.

Estrella Del Norte Vineyard Casita

  • 5 of 5

The casita was private and quiet. We love the bed in the master bedroom and unlike hotel beds had no problems falling off to sleep. Our early May stay revealed the budding Pinot Noir grape buds and vines starting to leaf, and the complementary wine tasting was very educational and fun. Yes, this is a working winery although most of the vineyard acreage is not on site. For those who want to experience the real New Mexico, we highly recommend this property and the hosts, Richard and Eileen are beautiful people. Why pay for the inflated Santa Fe experience, whereas the local fare here is just as good and cheaper. Gabriels, Sopaipilla Factory, Road Runner Cafe, El Parasol, Sugars (Embudo) and Rancho De Chimayo are just a few of the local places to experience the best of New Mexico cuisine, and yet, Santa Fe is only a short drive away for those seeking the city different. Many of the New Mexican artist have their own galleries outside of Santa Fe to avoid the high overhead. Avoid the crowds and glitter traps for tourists, and experience the quiet side of New Mexico that locals enjoy. That said, we still love Santa Fe because we use to live there, but we look forward to coming back to this beautiful casita.
