Space 1,350 sq ft
Property type house
Minimum Stay 2 nights

About the property

Casa Mar Vista is a beautiful home with amazing ocean views; welcomes families.

Spacious Casa Mar Vista (~1300 square feet inside + lots of deck space outside) has one of the most breath-taking views on the Sunshine Coast (we’re not really has!).

We are nestled a few minutes walk up from the beach in Hopkins Landing and only 1 Km from the nearby Langdale ferry terminal. You can arrive as a walk-on or ride-on ferry passenger to reach this beautiful getaway. You can even pull up to the Hopkins Landing wharf in your own boat and walk up to the house. Hopkins Landing beach features Gibsons’ only sandy beach, ideal for anytime of the year for relaxation by the water, or for romantic evening walks at sunrise or sunset.

Your kids (or the kid in you!) will enjoy exploring the path adjacent to the beach, where they’ll find tree houses to climb that are nestled in the remnant trunks of old majestic cedars or hiking/mountain biking in the nearby rain forests.

Downtown lower Gibsons is home to historically acclaimed television series “The Beachcombers”, loaded with coffee shops, a variety of great restaurants which includes Molly’s Reach, and plenty of knick-knack shops which is only 4 km away from Casa Mar Vista. If you don’t want to drive, or have left the car back home, a public transit bus stop is on Marine Drive immediately beside the property to get to Lower Gibsons, Roberts Creek, and Sechelt.

Master Bedroom: King-size bed, master bathroom.

Second Bedroom: Queen-size bed

Spare sleep area: Double bed and a pull-out sofa (double size, sleeps two small people) and a spare toddler bed upon request.

Kitchen: It has everything you’ll need + BBQ to prepare and serve delicious, leisurely meals.

About Michael & Ozgur

Michael is from the West Coast (via Chile) and Ozgur is from Turkey originally. We have both traveled the world and prefer staying at vacation rental places whenever/wherever is possible.

We are community-oriented people; love meeting new people from all corners of life. We enjoy mountain biking, kayaking, hiking, arts and photography which you get the best of all here on the Sunshine Coast! As avid travelers & parents to small children, we know what families look for while vacationing: very clean, comfortable and enjoyable place for all generations with less breakables, books, toys & board games to keep little ones occupied and a fully equipped kitchen with everything necessary for cooking where you can make yourself 'home' - away from home :)

Michael & Ozgur purchased this house in 2014

Why Michael & Ozgur chose Gibsons

We bought this property because it offers so many lifestyle options for us. There is so much to do in the area for us and our children. When we want to do nothing, we can just stare out forever at the magical view, even during the storm!

What makes this house unique

It is walking distance to the ferry (8-10 minutes). Downtown Vancouver is ~1.5 hours away from our doorstep, which includes the ferry ride and an express bus right downtown. We love having access to the beach -- long walks, playing in the sand & tree-houses with our boys, kayaking to nearby islands, beach-combing, hiking & excellent mountain biking. Gibsons Landing is only 4 km away. We can zoom into town in minutes to grab a hot coffee and croissant, catch a movie, or go for dinner at a bunch of great restaurants.

Guestbook comments from the manager

We had an amazing time and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. We loved it so much we stayed for another night. The home had an amazing view and fit our family perfectly. The host was friendly and very helpful. Will definitely stay here again.

We were a group of older ladies who have been together as a group for close to 50 years, We have an annual long weekend getaway every year and chose Casa Mar Vista for this year's. The accommodations for 7 were comfortable with close proximity to the quaint village of Gibsons. Our days began on the deck with coffee in hand watching the sun rise over the million dollar view and ended in the living room watching the moon rise over the same amazing view. In the past our entertainment was usually playing board or card games

but at Casa Mar Vista we were content to stare out the bay window in the living room at the activity of the ferries, yachts, cruise ships, paddle boarders, fish boats, tugs pulling barges and logs, eagles soaring and simply enjoying each other's company in utter relaxation. A lovely place that we would all recommend.

Wonderful place, very convenient, great view!

  • 5 of 5

A great home, had everything we needed. Clean, well kept and comfortable. Very close to the ferry, which was great. Short walk to the beach. Owners were very responsive to any questions we had as soon as we arrived. Great selection of toys and books to keep the little one entertained! We even saw the rainbow out on the ocean just like in the picture!! I would stay here again, and would recommend it.

Great for families

  • 4 of 5

Fantastic for my family of two kids (3 month and 24 month old).

Host very kindly set up playpen with soft baby blankets and mobile for us. High chair provided. Awesome toddler toys (mostly for boys) and books which made our kids day every day during our 3 night stay. Washer and dryer were new and super useful. Lots of towels provided as well as toiletries.

Hosts were extremely empathetic to our needs as a family of young kids and accommodated our need for flexibility with the booking to the nth degree.

On site managers were easy to contact via text and provided lots of prompt responses and local suggestions.

Location is around the corner from the ferry terminal and view of boats coming in and out of port were fantastic (and also made my toddlers day).

Definitely considering booking again in future.

Great location, awesome view, nice place to stay

  • 5 of 5

Very close to the ferry terminal. We had a car, so travelling to downtown Gibsons and Sechelt was not a problem at all. Place was not huge, but big enough to fit us 8. It was clean and had most of basic needs, such as cutlery, towels, blankets and so on. The propane gas tank for bbq was empty, so I asked if there were more. The manager promptly got us some more gas, and we appreciated it. Overall it was great. I would recommend to others, and I would come back in future. Thank you.

Beautiful Getaway

  • 5 of 5

We loved Michael's place!!! It was even more beautiful than the pictures. My husband and I showed up late at night so we couldn't quite see outside. We slept in the most comfortable bed (quite the spacious room). When we woke, we were surprised to see the most amazing view of the water from our living room. We spent the rest of the day on the patio taking in the wonderful scenery. The place had everything we needed and then some. Was very clean too! We very much appreciated how close the house was to the ferry terminal (90 seconds). Riding to town is about 5 minutes as well. We would love to come back and visit again. Hopefully very soon!
