Big Family River House on the Trinity River with trail to river, big decks, river views, shade & sun, and lots of fun! The home has 2 bedrooms, one king and queen bed, and a loft with a queen bed as well as a sleeper sofa in the living room. Two full baths (one upstairs and one downstairs). Sleeps 8 comfortably.
This home is just about 1 mile outside of Willow Creek right on the Trinity River. Trinity River can be great fun for swimming, fishing, tubing, and just relaxing. When you walk down the trail, through the shade, to the beach, you are welcomed by a big grassy field and plenty of spots to enter the river. Nice areas to sit by the river. If entering the river, you must be super careful for strong currents, etc. You are about 1 mile from Big Rock park on the river where you can drive down and then float down to your home, if conditions are right. The big bbq is great and there is plenty of seating out on the deck, and a firepit for you to enjoy in the evening. The house has plenty of fans and was built in a way for good air flow to stay cool during the day. Willow Creek has rafting companies and various restaurants and a market for food, etc. Of course it goes without saying that this is the home of Bigfoot and we have a Bigfoot Museum to prove it! Also happening every September in Willow Creek is Bigfoot Days, a super fun festival celebrating the local legend. Lots of great hiking nearby and plenty of state and federal parks. And, you are less than 45 minutes away from Arcata and the coast. Great day trips to the beaches of Trinidad or the Lagoons (kayak rentals available at Stone Lagoon through ) and Prairie Creek Redwoods National Park, which includes Fern Canyon and over one hundred miles of trails through the majestic Redwoods, Lady Bird Johnson Park, Talls Trees trail to Redwood Creek, and plenty of wildlife including Roosevelt Elk, is about 45 minutes from Arcata. You can also head south to Victorian Ferndale, Old Town Eureka, Sequoia Zoo and the Fairgrounds. Don't miss the annual Taste of Willow Creek festival which is a great event featuring wine tasting, craft booths and hors d'oeuvres, exiting events, activities and food offerings.
The property manager was more than helpful.
The vacation rental was very clean.
I was very happy with the location.
I was more than satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental.
Overall, I recommend this vacation rental.
We were very pleased with the location and the house is homey and cozy, the posting is a little confusing about how many bedrooms are available and there are no instructions for the guest bedrooms. overall it was a perfect place for the holidays. on a side note bring your own toilet paper if planning on staying more than a night.
Nice place, but the pictures are misleading. Not very clean, long walk to the water. You pay a high price and still they want you to replace the paper product you use. Neighbors are nice but way too close. We were expecting a better place for the price. We wont be going back.
