Our home is located just 30 minutes from the southern entrance (Highway 41) into Yosemite National Park.
This beautiful lakefront family home has three floors overlooking the lake in the prime area of Willow Cove. This area of the lake is safe from speeding boats as it is in a 5-mile an hour zone. This also reduces the noise level.
The main floor is on the middle level. Here you will find a large living room with ample seating for your family. The living room also features the original granite fireplace from when the cabin was built in 1942. The cabin was renovated and enlarged in 1984 when we bought it. The game table is a wonderful place for playing cards & games, working puzzles or writing emails (free wifi) while looking out at the lake.
The dining room also looks onto the lake and can seat 10 at the large dining table. The two adjacent eating counters seat 4 each. The French doors from the dining room open onto a covered deck with ceiling fan and a large round patio table that seats 8. This deck is the perfect place to enjoy a cup of coffee as you watch the sun come up or for an evening bbq. The large gas fueled bbq is located adjacent to this seating area.
The recently renovated kitchen is fully equipped with a five-burner gas cooktop, convection oven, a convection/microwave oven, dishwasher and trash compactor. You'll find plenty of dinnerware and cookware for your use. For coffee lovers there is also an expresso/cappuccino maker and two 12- cup coffee pots. The central island/chopping block is ideal for the whole family to help prepare some delicious meals. A washer & dryer plus a second refrigerator are located just steps from the kitchen.
Also on the main level there are two bedrooms each with queen size beds. The shared bathroom has double sinks and tub/shower.
On the top floor is the large master bedroom suite with a freestanding fireplace, seating area and private bath with double sinks and double-headed shower. The second master bedroom has a queen size bed and private bath with tub/shower. Both third floor bedrooms overlook the lake.
On the lower level is a family room and two bedrooms facing the lake. The family room has a queen size sleeper sofa and a twin trundle that sleeps two. One of the bedrooms features a queen size bed and other bedroom has a queen bed and a twin bed. The fourth bathroom with double sinks & tub/shower is on this lower level.
The French doors from the family room take you out to a lake level patio with table and chairs to seat 6. Another recent addition is a cushioned seating bench that seats 4. This is a great area for watching a hot game of horseshoes. Just a few steps down is a wide sandy beach with a horseshoe pit, room for sunbathing and building sand castles. On the beach we provide four chaise lounges to relax on while you read or watch the kids play. Our dock has room for you to have two boats or one boat and jet ski.
We have free wifi and a Verizon signal extender.
We have rented our home during the summer for over 20 years now but just recently started listing it on VRBO.
Check out our video tour on youtube. Note the kitchen has been totally remodeled.

About Marc Sobel
The owners, Dennis & Cindy, shown above moved to Bass Lake in 1983 with our young family of four children. We had vacationed here for many years and decided we wanted our four children to grow up in a small mountain community. We spent six months enlarging & renovating a small lake front cabin that was originally built in 1942. Our children grew up in this house, went to elementary & high school here before starting their own families. They have blessed us with nine grandchildren. We just recently retired and love to travel and visit our children & grandkids.
Marc Sobel purchased this House in 1984
Why Marc Sobel chose Bass Lake
My husband started vacationing here when he was ten, and we started coming together in 1966. A vacation spent in a neighboring rental convinced us this was a prime location. This is the home where we raised our family. You'll find family photos still on the walls and all the comforts of a real home. There are bright light-filled rooms and no dark cabin paneling in sight. The beach is right out the lower family room door. There are many tall pine trees around the house and a lawn area on the side. You can watch the alpin glow from the sunset as it settles on the forest across the cove or if you're lucky enough to be here during a full moon you can watch it rise too. If you're here in August, you can sometimes catch the meteor showers if you lay out on the chaise on the beach. This is one of the safest places to swim because boats are only allowed to go 5 miles an hour in Willow Cove. We have been blessed to live here for 34 years and give thanks for that blessing every day.
What makes this House unique
This home is large enough for two or three families and is a wonderful place to make vacation memories. Bring your beach towels, chairs & pop-ups and spend a lazy day on the beach. The water is warm and your views of the pine covered mountains is spectacular. If you love to get away in the winter, we have two wood burning stove to warm you on a chilly day. For skiing and snowboard enthusiasts, Yosemite National Park has a great ski area , Yosemite Ski & Snowboard Area (formerly known as Badger Pass). There are 3 double chairlifts and 1 triple chairlift that access ten runs. They have a great learn to ski program and are very family friendly. The ski resort is about 1 1/2 hour drive. You're also just 30 minutes from the southern entrance into Yosemite National Parks and a short distance from the Sierra Scenic Byway.

Best lake house loved it
First thing i want to say is that i fell in love with this house its so beautiful LOVE the view of the lake and that its just a few steps away .We had a great time me and my friends. House was big and comfy for 14 people and including kids. And course house was clean and neat, house had all the basic stuff we needed. I thank Marc for giving us all the instructions on how to get there and that he replyed back as soon as possible when i messaged him he was great. We are definitely coming back for summer with the family. We went on April 2018 weather was great . The lake water was very cold but still enjoyable. Just a tip if you go with a big group just dont take a bath all at the same time hot water will run out . And wifi sometimes goes off but not a big deal .But over all house was great couldnt have asked for a better vacation. Cant wait to come back!!!
great family home!
we had an amazing experience in the lake! the water is warm, the weather was great, and the house was perfect for our group of family and friends. the living space inside is great for a big group, and there is plenty of space outdoors - even with the water levels up so high! we will definitely be returning next year!
Willow Cove Dream!
We had 6 adult couples here for the weekend and it was amazing! There is no better place in Willow Cove than this home. Great views, very spacious and the home is laid out for plenty of privacy if desired. Kitchen is big and well stocked. Hosts were very accommodating and we would definitely stay here again.
We are very glad you enjoyed your time at the Lake and hope you will come back soon.
Perfect for our family!
We just finished a 5 night stay at Bass Lake and would highly recommend this house and definitely stay there again. My husband and I took our 3 adult children and spouses and 3 grandkids, ages 5, 3 and 2-1/2. It was perfect for everyone. The kids had their own little activity table and play area in the living room. The kitchen was probably the best equipped of any rental we've stayed in. Just steps to the lake with a nice sandy beach. One of our favorite rentals ever!
It was so nice to meet you a couple of weeks ago. We're glad you enjoyed our home with your kids and grandkids. We want our guests to feel comfortable, able to put their feet up and relax. That's what getting away and vacationing is all about. Bass Lake is a wonderful place to make family memories.
Have a happy New Year and hope to see you again in 2017.
Dream vacation stay
We had the best time here! The house was very accommodating for our large group of friends & kiddos. The Willow Cove area of Bass Lake is definitely the place to stay! The cove is quiet with a no wake zone, easy access in and out of cove, awesome rope swing just across from the house, and water level is excellent right now (FULL!!). We stayed May 2016
A few warnings: this house has a lot of stairs (probably not the best for older people). Some of the steps are hard to see (inside and outside) of the house.
Bring your BUG SPRAY! or citronella candles! PARKING really sucks.... we could fit a max of 3 cars because we had a few trucks. We ended up shuttling people back and forth from the Market parking lot (about a 15 min walk) which worked out for us.
Bass Lake is our new favorite vacation spot. Check out more pictures of the house on Zillow! There is a really great virtual tour :)
Madeline, we are so glad our group had such a wonderful time. This is one of the best spots on the lake to enjoy natures beauty. As indicated in the description of our home there are three floors which does mean a lot of steps. All of the stairways have appropriate lighting and switches and all but one area has natural light from outside too. Unfortunately, late May & early June is our bug season. We have four parking spaces for guests, but only two spaces that can handle over-sized trucks. We hope to see you again for your next family gathering.
Fun with Friends
There are words to explain the beauty of this place..2 years renting this house with other couples.. Absolutely amazing!!
So glad you had a good time. Hope we see you back for the triathlon next year. Dennis & Cindy
Located in the Sierra's at 3500' elevation, this home is located on Willow Cove in beautiful Bass Lake. It's just a 25 minute drive via Highway 41 to the southern entrance of Yosemite National Park. Just inside the entrance is the Mariposa Grove with an easy walking trail through the giant redwoods. A few miles inside the park you'll come to the historic Wawona Hotel and Golf Course. On your way to the Valley you can detour to Glacier Point and in the winter you can enjoy downhill and cross country skiing at Badger Pass. Continuing on to the Valley you have to stop at the Lookout after going through the tunnel. From this vista you can see Bridalveil Falls, El Capitan and Half Dome. Don't forget your camera. Once you reach the valley floor there are trails that take you to the base of Bridalveil Falls and Yosemite Falls. In the summer you can float on the Merced River or enjoy a horseback ride. The best way to see the Valley is on a tram ride from Yosemite Village. The guides are very knowledgeable and give a great overview of sights and the parks history. Don't miss the Ahwahnee Hotel. Walk through the public rooms and see the huge walk-in fireplace. Be sure to check out the dining room and if you have time, stay for lunch/dinner or on Sundays the brunch is outstanding.
If you're an avid mountain biker there are lots of advanced trails around the lake, i.e. 007, Goat Mountain, and Willow Creek.
Ski boat, jet skis and patio boat rentals are available just 5 minutes away in the Pines Village. For the best hamburgers in the area try the Forks Resort or Miller's Landing. Both have gorgeous lake views.
There are two nearby golf courses just outside of Oakhurst. Sierra Meadows offers an 18 hole course and River Creek has 9 holes.
