Perfect little getaway
We stayed for 4 nights and got some much needed r&r. There's everything you need here and the owners are very sweet (and very generous with allowing use of their canoes, kayaks, etc.) They live on the property but give you your privacy. It's also close to a lot of great areas (within 1.5hrs) if you want to take any side trips. All in all this was a great choice for us and we loved staying here!
A lovely and serene setting
Spent a wonderful week steps away from a peaceful and clean lake at this very cozy and well equipped camp. This setting offers everything you could want/need for the perfect “unplug” from the hustle and bustle. The camp is well cared for and stocked with everything you could reasonably think of. Ideal for an individual or couple. Great jumping off point for day trips to Bangor and Portland. Just a wonderful gem of a place and great hosts who are accessible and responsive.
We had a great time, very relaxing, peaceful. Loved sitting by the lake watching everything!
The camp is rustic, as advertised, which lends to the charm. Had all the comforts of home. We enjoyed being so close to the lake, swimming and canoeing. Then driving around the backroads of mid-Maine! Great mini-vacation.
Paradise for the outdoor lover!
This property is a slice of Heaven! We enjoyed everything about it! From the private lake front to swimming and kayaking, drinking coffee every morning on the screened in porch and the beds were super comfy. The sunsets were beautiful!
We made several day trips to Moosehead Lake, Bar Harbor and Acadia National Park!
Lois had everything we needed and met us when we arrived! Would recommend to any couple or family of 4! Such a relaxing time!
Spent a very relaxing week listening to the waves hitting the rocks (less that 20ft away). Lois and Earle were outstanding hosts. The cottage is in a great location on the lake. There is an information book (better than any hotel I have stayed at) with brochures, restaurant info, shopping and sights in the area. Sitting around the firepit (wood provided) was extremely nice. The little town of Newport is close for food and Redbox (it rained a lot one of the days that we were there). The lake can be a little rough if the wind picks up. The loons made an appearance along with the eagles. Already looking at dates for next year.
Property could use some work.
Outside the lake and surroundings we're beautiful. The house was much more rustic than we anticipated.
