Excellent excellent excellent !!!!
We really enjoyed our stay everything was perfect no problems at all. I will definitely stay at this home again
Great House in a great location!
This was a wonderful rental with no issues at all. The house was amazing and is in a great part of town. The owner was very responsive to any pre questions we had about our up coming visit and made the stay hassle free. I would defiantly stay here again!
We stayed in this beautiful home for 3 weeks this past March. Loved the layout of the home & it is in a quiet neighborhood convenient to shopping & restaurants. We spent a lot of time in the pool & hot tub with a beautiful view of the canal. Everything worked perfectly & the owner Jeff was very responsive to our questions & needs. We will definitely stay here again on our next trip to the Cape.
Pelican Cape Coral
My wife and I are retired but rented this beautiful 3 bedroom home so our 2 youngest grandchildren and their parents could visit for a portion of our stay. Great bedroom layout with master suite on opposite side to 2 other bedrooms. Canal and swimming pool/spa create relaxing fun atmosphere. Spa had some challenges but owner made every effort to resolve. Vacationing in Cape Coral requires you to drive to the beaches and be patient in traffic. Great view with canal but very young children should not be left to play unsupervised near the canal. However the whole family enjoyed fishing off the dock!
We usually visit Wis Dells in December, but this time decide to visit Cape Coral. Best choice ever. The house is beautiful, pool and spa are amazing, cable tv, super fast internet. We will definitely visit it again.
Great house: Poor Amenities and Owner Response
Saturday, Sunday, Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday morning of the 7 day stay:
The grill leaked gas. I texted, sent photos and videos, and attempted to call the owner. He asked us to go to Home Depot and swap the tank. This did not work. Grill still leaked, filling house and patio with gas.
Spa. When it was turned on, it drained. It auto refilled with cold water in the morning, but spa was effectively nonoperational. Could use spa for about 10 minutes before the water level was too low.
I advised the owner that we would not be at the house all day Monday through Tuesday afternoon. Nothing was fixed during this time. After repeated attempts to contact the owner, I was advised he had given my contact info to the grill repair guy, and that "the spa was fixed". It was not.
We rented this house with a goal of spending the majority of our time relaxing here. Too much of my time was spent texting the owner and multiple calls to HomeAway. I wasted several hundred dollars of food that was purchased for the grill. We had hoped to wake and relax in the spa, but this was out of the picture daily as we had to wait for it to refill at 7:45 am, then heat. We even changed our travel plans and spent 36 hours out of the house, with the hope of having these issues fixed for the remainder of our trip. But this did not happen. Nor did the owner attempt to contact us with an update. Instead, we arrived back to the property with an empty spa and a grill that leaked gas.
But, the owner asked us to leave a good review.
The goal of this vacation was ruined, our money and time on this property was wasted. The owner cannot buy back our time, and as of over 100 hours from checking out, has not reimbursed us for the items he asked us to buy or the rent we wasted.
This vacation was only for one week: from Saturday through Wednesday we went without these amenities. The grill leak was fixed Wednesday, and two of the three burners worked. If you stay here, don't use the ice maker, it's full of mold. The back door to the side yard locks with a screw. After being told by the owner that I needed to speak with the spa technician, we overrode the timer and "fixed the spa". (I had to FaceTime the spa tech for repairs.) From that point forward, the pool was spa temp and the spa was usually cool.
Note: when operational, the spa is on a timer and only works from 8-5pm.
So yes, the house itself is great. But don't plan on amenities. I still have not received a reply from the owner
With so many great reviews it is disappointing to see this review published as there are many details left out. With regards to the grill it was determined through conversation with the renter that the propane bottle or the connector hose was leaking. To eliminate the propane tank, I asked him if was willing to go 5 min down the road to Home Depot and switch out the tank which he did. He reported back that didn't fix the problem. I sent somebody out to the house to look at the grill and had him replace the gas hose. He also reported that the new tank had probably been dropped as there was a leak around the shutoff and it was removed from the property. There were no further complaints after the grill guy left.
The pool vendor was called first thing Monday morning and later that day he made it out to the house and determined a check valve was needed and was replaced at 6 am Tuesday morning. I got a call Wednesday from the renter stating nothing had been fixed and had the pool vendor out there by 9 am. He spent 30 mins checking the system and could find nothing wrong. He also reported the pool was at 91 degrees which is higher that the preset 85. My contract states you are not to change the pool temp and will be charge for a service call. No charge was made. At checkout the renter said the spa still had a problem. I went to the house at 0715 on the following Wednesday to find the spa full of water and operating correctly.
When informed of the mildew located on the ice flapper, I told him I would send the maid out to clean it. He said not to bother as he bought ice. I wiped it off in just a few minutes during my home inspection. The home inspection was completed on Wednesday and his deposit along with a refund for the propane was sent on Friday. I additionally waived any overage for the electric, which was offered up mid week of his stay.
The house has a fully stocked kitchen for cooking. The spa had a check valve failure which was replaced. The home has a heated pool, which was available the whole time during their stay. Repairmen and vendors have many clients and I do my best to get then out there as quickly as their schedule allows. I have been renting homes since 2001 and always try to address any issues in a timely fashion, as having a satisfied customer is important to me.
Additional information about rental rates
Add $150 for cleaning fee. My rate includes 625 kwh/ week for electric which normally covers your vacation and rarely exceeded due to the energy efficiency of the home.
