Spectacular Oceanfront Retreat - The Boathouse

Bedrooms 2
Property type house
Minimum Stay 3 - 4 nights

About the property

2 Bedroom, 2 Bathroom, 5 Sleeps

Our ocean front vacation home was a boathouse that has been converted to a two bedroom cottage. The interior of the cottage has been recently renovated and includes the following:

• a fully equipped kitchen

• two large bedrooms with hardwood floors (one bedroom has a king size bed and a futon couch and the second bedroom has a queen size bed and a cuddle chair.

• two full bathrooms

• a large flat screen TV with DVD player

• WiFi

•. stacked washer & dryer

• wood burning stove

• comfortable furnishings

This is an exceptional ocean front property with over 300 feet of low bank level waterfront located in a very private setting on two-third acre. The converted boathouse is only 20 feet from the water and the large lot is flat so there are no hills to climb. The property features a deep water dock with access to fresh water and power and can accommodate up to a 40 foot boat. In addition, the property has a large glassed-in deck located over the water with gate access to launch kayaks or canoe. The owners have two kayaks for use by their guests. From the front of the living room, many hours could be spent watching boats and seaplanes arriving and leaving the harbour. At night, the place is serene and quiet. Many animals including deer, bears, eagles and sea otters have visited the property.

Some local attractions include hiking at Mount Daniel Park and Skookumchuk Narrows, ocean and lake swimming, boating, fishing, golfing, horseback riding, art galleries and Sunday Jazz at local pubs. Whether you are looking for an active or relaxing vacation, this is the place for you.

For your shopping needs, the village of Madeira Park is a 20 minutes drive from the cottage and it has a well stocked grocery store, pharmacy, credit union, a new spa, restaurants and pubs, liquor store, gift shops, etc.

Our cottage is a 40 minute scenic ferry ride from Horseshoe Bay to Langdale and about an hour and 15 minutes drive up the Sunshine Coast Highway (Highway 101) to Garden Bay, Pender Harbour.

For more information about our cottage, please call us at 604 619-5958 (mobile) or 604 522-3336 (home).

Beautiful quiet spot

  • 5 of 5

We loved the location of the cottage. As quiet as can be. The inside was very tidy and clean, no shortage of kitchen wares to make our stay really easy. Loved the several options when sitting outside, you can be in or out of the sun all day long from different areas of the yard. Coffee on the deck as the sun comes up over mount Daniel was my favourite.

Wonderful week on the Sunshine Coast

  • 5 of 5

The idyllic quiet bay waterfront location of this house cannot be beat! We (2 couples) went into instant relaxation mode as soon as we arrived. 5 lovely places to sit outside on the large property. Very comfortable living room and bedrooms. So lovely to leave the top blinds open at night and see the water view (night and morning) from the loft bedroom. The house was immaculate, and everything we could have possibly needed was available. The kitchen was particularly well-stocked. Loved having the kayaks. Owners Bruce and Judy were very responsive, and took the time to check in halfway through our 5 day stay. Highly recommend the Slo-Cat tour of Pender Harbour, and the Sunshine Coast Tours of Princess Louisa Inlet.

An amazing place

  • 5 of 5

We loved this spot. Beautiful, quiet, waterfront location, very well furnished and maintained, everything you could need in a kitchen and full of extras such as several pairs of binoculars, West Coast books etc. We took full advantage of the kayaks and saw herons, seals and other wildlife from the dock and house! The directions were clear and the hosts were very responsive. One of the best VRBO rentals we have ever been to. Rob Phillips Edmonton Alberta

An absolutely amazing getaway destination!!!

  • 5 of 5

For all those who are wanting a tranquil vacation, or those who are wanting to escape the hussle and bustle of city life, this is absolutely the place for you!

I truely do not have one bad thing to say about this home. We had such a great time adventuring around in the kayaks, walking around, visiting nearby towns, beachcombing, observing wild life, enjoying Judys jam, and over all, just relaxing and enjoying ourselves.

10/10 would reccomend

Thanks again Judy and Bruce!

Very relaxing! Instantly felt like home.

  • 5 of 5

We had never explored the Sunshine Coast, except for Gibsons, and were so happily surprised at the seemingly remote location of this property. It was tucked away in the small Hospital Bay. As we visited other Bays we always we're happy to come 'home' to our place.

We felt instantly welcome with a personal note from Judy and homemade jam! Yum! and our kids instantly fell in love with the fish pond. What I especially loved about the outdoor space was all the selection of seating areas. We really enjoyed access to the ocean, thank you Judy for letting us borrow the kayaks! we all loved that experience.

Inside the house it was very tastefully decorated and I loved the HUGE front window (we saw deer almost every night) and your home had all the things we needed, even a great selection of movies. The only I would have wanted was a selection of games for rainy days but really EVERYTHING was there. I want to come back next year! Thanks Judy and Bruce for a great holiday!

Owner's Response: Jaime, We are glad you had a good time at the "Boathouse". The suggestion to provide a selection of games is a good one. We will look into it and make sure we have some indoor games for our future guests. Thanks again for staying at our place and we look forward to your return. Bruce and Judy
