About Lola Burmeister
We enjoy sharing the peace & tranquility of this space. Visitors seem to welcome and embrace this unique space, reconnecting to nature, refreshing Spirit. As our grown children refer to me as the Airy Fairy portion of their make up, I believe in the powerful connection, in the energy, and healing properties of the earth and beings. Together Ken and I create functional spaces that remind you of spirit and imagination. Stay with us to plant your feet on the ground, your head in the sky & your heart everywhere.
Lola Burmeister purchased this Cabin in 2012
Why Lola Burmeister chose Oxford
Our property is over 3 acres, on a secluded peninsula with a variety of mature, beautiful trees, plants and many wonderful creatures. As you walk about on the property you will notice many Fairy houses, inspirational sayings and gardens.
What makes this Cabin unique
Tiny House Living has become a new craze. Our cabin lets you experience what everyone is talking about. Tucked away on our property, you feel totally secluded, the train whistle reminds you of a time passed. Birds, bunnies, squirrels, deer, fox, raccoons, turtles and the coyotes singing in the distance allows you to feel far away. The ability to walk .2 of a mile to restaurants, supplies, a gas station, deli, a dollar store, craft mall, makes your stay more enjoyable. Sit in the quiet or explore the opportunities Marquette County and surrounding counties have to offer. Enjoy, relax, refresh at the Nature Nook.

Cozy winter getaway
You need to watch for Lola's messages - not VRBO's, which have an incorrect contact phone. The listing info is outdated e.g. keypad code not a key. And Google maps brought us to a couple blocks off the destination. But all that aside we had a very nice stay. Warm despite sub-freezing temperatures. No problem with driveway despite packed snow. Supplies are just enough for two so sorry, no menage a trois.
It was a fun and peaceful time away from it all! Super cute cottage!
We had such a great weekend. Enjoyed all the wildlife and the walk down to the water in the morning over coffee. Had a wonderful dinner at Ishnala supper club while enjoying all the fall colors!!! The cabin was perfect for 2 , nice and cozy. We would definitely recommend for quick get away. We'll be back again, next time for 2 nights!!! Thank you Lola!!

First impression....deceitful. Pictures shown on website include several pics of lake......so we were assuming the cottage was on the lake. We were informed to text owner when close so that we could meet them @ cottage to give us key & instructions. I texted the # given on website couple times....no one responded. Then after checkin time I called & no one answered. Jill.....the former owner....called back and gave us Lola’s #....who is the current owner. The # listed on website was Jill’s. So we called Lola’s # and no one answered. By this time we were @ cottage for 1 1/2 hr. We decided to go down to house by lake and see if anyone knew where Lola was. Her mother came out and walked up to cottage with us and opened door.....the temp was 52 degrees. The furnace said to replace batteries.....so mom went back down to her daughters......Lola’s house to get new batteries. The TV had only one channel that came in. Had a DVD player......but NO DVD movies. Very disappointed in the whole VRBO experience. Don’t think will ever use again.
thank you, Mary, for your honest opinion. every guest is sent an email before arrival with my contact information and the key code with instructions to let yourself in. the description of our property is 3 acre lake access. the cabin is described as tucked into private wood. I assure you VRBO is a great way to go if one knows how to use it,
