Hummingbird Haven is tucked off a secluded, dirt, back-road. This log cabin, build in 1952, is peaceful and quiet. Birds entertain as you have morning coffee on the screened in porch. In the evening, watch lightning bugs dance. A haven with comforts of a forgotten time, and some modern amenities - just enough to be comfortable. There is endless hot water, an indoor bathroom, fresh spring water from the tap, a full kitchen, but no TV. Cell phone and internet usage are limited. Some phones have a bar or two on the corner of the porch, otherwise, phones work in the hayfield, or at the end of the drive. Hummingbird Haven invites you to disconnect and slow down for a moment. Take a break from hustle and bustle, walk back in time when life didn't move so fast. Leave feeling rested and happy about unexpected delights of your time here. Civilization isn't so distant. We are just 30 miles from downtown Nashville, 15 miles from historic Franklin, 10 miles from charming Leipers Fork, and 4 miles from the grocery in Fairview. This area, Fernvale, was once known as a much sought-after retreat. . We can promise hummingbirds. We do our best to create the experience you hope for when you take a holiday. For cyclists, we are 8 miles from the Natchez Trace. We have safe parking for your vehicle while you enjoy your ride. We hope you will come visit, time and time again.

About Daisy Jabas or Tony Vincent
We have had a lot of our own travel experiences. Our goal is to make a restful renewing getaway for all that gift us with a visit. Daisy is a retired nurse, mental health advocate, gardner, quilter, bit of a mischief maker, known as 'the straw that stirs the drink" of our Fernvale community". Tony, has a great sense of humor. He is a retired systems analyst/programmer, Montessori teacher, song writer/folk singer, bottle washer, supervisor and cohort.
Daisy Jabas or Tony Vincent purchased this Cabin in 2000
Why Daisy Jabas or Tony Vincent chose Fairview
Not fancy, but clean. Old fashioned, allows for a time to reconnect, to family, friends, yourself, and the quiet joy of life. A low stress community, where neighbors are friends. Limited internet and phone service does make it easier to disconnect. (There may be a little reception on a corner of the porch. There is good reception at the end of the drive).
What makes this Cabin unique
An entire log cabin to yourself, with only birds to wake you. The cat probably will ignore you. Innkeepers that are ever so happy to make sure you have what you need, as well as to sit on the porch and talk.

The best kind of paradox!
Rustic, yet comfortable. Secluded, but close enough for exploring many towns, both small (Franklin, Leiper's Fork, etc.) and large (Nashville). Daisy and Tony were friendly, but not intrusive, and stocked the cabin with many appreciated amenities and extras. We'd love to come stay again, and had a wonderful time -- no paradox there. Thanks!
I'm glad you enjoyed your stay. We enjoyed meeting you both, and appreciated you're leaving our place so neat. Happy that Zoocy & Cooper had a good time, as well.
Hopefully, we'll see you again.
Very charming rustic cabin off the beaten path
We enjoyed our stay at the Hummingbird Haven. Lovely location, homemade biscuits, gracious host. Wish we could have stayed longer!
Mary Francis was a wonderful and friendly guest who left our B&B as clean and neat as she found it. She and John were a delight to get to know.
Sweet, peaceful and clean cabin
My stay at Hummingbird Haven was renewing for my tired spirit. After a long road trip, being told, "the key is in the door", then walking in to the lights on and many touches that said "we are glad you're here" is a rare find in overnight rentals. Daisy and Tony are refreshing fun loving people. I will definitely return!
I can't believe that we didn't answer your lovely review. Thank you. Our goal is to have our guests rest and renew. We hope you will come again. Daisy
SWEET COTTAGE ON THE HILL
My husband and I absolutely loved our weekend at Hummingbird Haven. It was the perfect country setting for our 20th wedding anniversary. We spent most of our time on the screened in porch looking at the beautiful nature all around. Fresh eggs, juice, milk, fruit, coffee and biscuits were waiting for us in the fridge and the wild flowers placed throughout the cottage was such a sweet touch. We walked the property and found Daisy working in her garden, more then willing to stop and give us a tour (and some fresh broccoli !!) We will absolutely be coming back. Kim & Philip Davis (Franklin, TN)
Thank you for your kind review. It validates us, as we want you and our other guests to feel special and enjoy our place as much as we do.
We had no idea you chose Hummingbird Haven to celebrate your anniversary. We are honored that you did.
Congratulations, and hope to see you again.
Great get-away! Amazing birds. Quiet spacious yet comfy.
Tony and Daisy are terrific hosts. They were open for a visit on their porch or suggestions for local destinations, but also gracious about our quiet space at the cabin in back. This is a fabulous spot for birders. We counted more than 40 species in the property- many viewed from the front porch at the feeders. We left a list. Also very close and easy access to the northernmost end of the Natchez Trace.
There is a nice firm bed, full kitchen, gas grill, friendly outdoor dog, and very nice cabin furnishings. The original wood paneled walls and ceilings are exquisite.
We were delighted also by the fresh home-made biscuits and local eggs stocked in our cabin as well as good coffee and fresh OJ.
We can't wait to return. This is maybe our best ever VRBO experience.
Jack and Kelli were first-rate guests. They are very friendly and thoughtful. Not only did they educate us about the 49 species of birds that they identified here (we had no idea of such a number), but also gave me good advice about a home project that I was working on.
We enjoyed getting to know them through a number of easy going conversations we had during their four-day stay, which seemed to pass so quickly. We appreciate the way they treated our B&B as well as they would their own home, and left it as tidy as they found it.
Although they live in Oregon and doubtfully will be this way in the future, we would love them to visit us again.
Very nice, quiet
Very nice location with a clean, well kept cabin. Definitely rustic - no phone service unless you take a walk! Perfect for a getaway or retreat.
Quiet & private, y just 30 miles from downtown Nashville with all its music & activities, 15 miles from Franklin with all its Civil War history, 10 miles from Leipers Fork with its small time charm & shops, and 4 miles outside the town of Fairview. Bowie Nature Park in Fairview and the nearby Natchez Trace are both great for cyclists and nature lovers.
