Hummingbird Haven is tucked off a secluded, dirt, back-road. This log cabin, build in 1952, is peaceful and quiet. Birds entertain as you have morning coffee on the screened in porch. In the evening, watch lightning bugs dance. A haven with comforts of a forgotten time, and some modern amenities - just enough to be comfortable. There is endless hot water, an indoor bathroom, fresh spring water from the tap, a full kitchen, but no TV. Cell phone and internet usage are limited. Some phones have a bar or two on the corner of the porch, otherwise, phones work in the hayfield, or at the end of the drive. Hummingbird Haven invites you to disconnect and slow down for a moment. Take a break from hustle and bustle, walk back in time when life didn't move so fast. Leave feeling rested and happy about unexpected delights of your time here. Civilization isn't so distant. We are just 30 miles from downtown Nashville, 15 miles from historic Franklin, 10 miles from charming Leipers Fork, and 4 miles from the grocery in Fairview. This area, Fernvale, was once known as a much sought-after retreat. . We can promise hummingbirds. We do our best to create the experience you hope for when you take a holiday. For cyclists, we are 8 miles from the Natchez Trace. We have safe parking for your vehicle while you enjoy your ride. We hope you will come visit, time and time again.

About Daisy Jabas or Tony Vincent
We have had a lot of our own travel experiences. Our goal is to make a restful renewing getaway for all that gift us with a visit. Daisy is a retired nurse, mental health advocate, gardner, quilter, bit of a mischief maker, known as 'the straw that stirs the drink" of our Fernvale community". Tony, has a great sense of humor. He is a retired systems analyst/programmer, Montessori teacher, song writer/folk singer, bottle washer, supervisor and cohort.
Daisy Jabas or Tony Vincent purchased this Cabin in 2000
Why Daisy Jabas or Tony Vincent chose Fairview
Not fancy, but clean. Old fashioned, allows for a time to reconnect, to family, friends, yourself, and the quiet joy of life. A low stress community, where neighbors are friends. Limited internet and phone service does make it easier to disconnect. (There may be a little reception on a corner of the porch. There is good reception at the end of the drive).
What makes this Cabin unique
An entire log cabin to yourself, with only birds to wake you. The cat probably will ignore you. Innkeepers that are ever so happy to make sure you have what you need, as well as to sit on the porch and talk.

Nice country setting enjoyed every minute.
Thanks for your review. Our concierge said you left the place very clean. We so appreciate that.
Great cabin if you want to totally unplug! Was thinking this is the place to go when writing a book
Clean, rustic and very well appointed
Thank you very much. That is exactly the ambiance we want to create! We look forward to reading your book, may even buy the hard cover. Safe and happy journey. Daisy
Quiet, cozy retreat...a trip back in time...a simpler time.
Hummingbird Haven is close to everything, but tucked back off the beaten track. If you are looking for a quiet cabin, a trip back to a simpler time, check in with Daisy and Tony. They have found their Walden and are willing to share it with others!
Stephanie and Jackie,
Thanks for celebrating your birthdays with us. Daisy, myself, and Patches (I know) enjoyed getting to know you a bit. I'm glad you had a good stay here.
I hope you return,
Quiet country stay
We enjoyed our quiet country stay. Cabin was a genuine Tennessee country experience. Very much as I recall from my childhood visiting my grandparents farm and my college years. Great place for birding and just sharing time and company with those you love. I would recommend it to anyone looking for such an experience.
Quiet, Peaceful Country Retreat within minutes of Nashville
Such a quiet and beautiful setting for our short weekend getaway. The cabin is so charming and the touches that Daisy adds, from the eggs, cantaloupe and juice in the fridge, the yummy scones and biscuits on the counter and the freshly cut flowers scattered throughout the cabin, made us feel so at home. As busy business owners, truly unplugging is not an easy task for us, but our time at the cabin with no cell service and no TV helped us jump start that much needed unplugging process. Patches the dog greeted us each morning and each time we pulled back in the driveway. We came with a plan of exploring the sites and sounds of downtown Nashville each day, but we never went back into the city once we arrived at the cabin as we loved exploring nearby Leiper's Fork (Puckett's, all of the quaint shops and Leiper's Fork Distillery) Franklin (great Civil War history) and we so enjoyed the brief amount of time we had to explore beautiful Natchez Trace. A return trip here will definitely need to go on our calendar. Thank you Tony, Daisy and Patches!
Linda and Kent,
Thanks so much for staying with us, and for writing such a nice review. I'm so glad you enjoyed your visit here. We hope you do come back. We look forward to it.
Very unique quiet restful place to stay
We had a perfect 3 night stay here. It rained the entire time we were here, but the screened in porch was where we happily spent our time. Birdfeeders brought in hummingbirds, doves and cardinals - even in the rain - and listening to the rain while sleeping is always nice. It is an old log cabin full of history, creaky floors and charm. We loved it. The bed is new and very comfortable. It is close to Leipers Fork and about 20 minutes to Franklin. The countryside is beautiful. This cabin is in a very special location and we are happy we found it.
Enjoyed you and Mike staying with us. It finally stopped raining, and the sun came out today (Friday). The birds seem to not mind the rain, though most of the hummingbirds have left for their winter habitats in Mexico & Central America. Amazing to me that they fly that far on those little wings. Well, time to get wood in for the winter, as it was actually 60 degrees this morning. Mike, too, for your Michigan cabin.
All the best,
Quiet & private, y just 30 miles from downtown Nashville with all its music & activities, 15 miles from Franklin with all its Civil War history, 10 miles from Leipers Fork with its small time charm & shops, and 4 miles outside the town of Fairview. Bowie Nature Park in Fairview and the nearby Natchez Trace are both great for cyclists and nature lovers.
