PLEASE NOTE: our four cabins in Grand Lake and Estes Park are a 35 year family business. We are not a hotel, we do our best to make sure that every guest and group are happy. The cabins are in the mountains and therefore small furry and crawly friends may visit from time to time, especially in the late fall. All of our cabins are NO SMOKING inside or on the decks and patios, the Rocky Mountains are under constant fire danger and our cabins are all made of wood. We also want to respect the smells and preferences of other guests. If our onsite managers smell smoke of any type then the entire deposit is forfeit. Our cabins in Estes Park are on well systems. That means the sinks can have streaks when clean and the HOT TUBS can be off color as the minerals react with the cleaning chemicals. The water is safe to drink and very clean! PETS are allowed in BOTH cabins, however, we only cater to dogs and only very well behaved ones. This cabin can have 2 dogs, the other only 1. Please keep dogs crated when not home. We do not have dog runs at this time. Please clean up after dogs. We employ an additional cleaning service for pet dander and rug shampoo so that our allergic guests are also happy. We charge a $40 pet fee for EACH dog that is not usually reflected in the price quote. FIRE: we have gas fire pits at both houses, wood burning is not allowed in Estes Park vacation rentals. PARKING: we have room for 6 vehicles at each house, but we want to be good neighbors so we only permit 3 without contacting us before you book so we can make sure that both cabins aren't simultaneously full. CAMERAS: we have live closed circuit cameras on the driveways, the main decks, and the water front. These are for safety and security and are only accessed by the owner. There are no recording devices anywhere inside the cabins
If both cabins are rented then we will keep 10% within 6 months of check-in
Each cabin will keep
25% if cancelled within 90 days
50% if cancelled within 60 days
100% if cancelled within 30 days.
Our cabins book a year out, it's more difficult to make last minute arrangements so VRBO recommends getting their insurance against cancelations for medical and other last minute issues.

About Mike Thomas
Our family has been in Estes, Grand Lake, and Rocky Mountain National Park since the 50s. We have had a family rental cabin at Lemmon Lodge in Grand Lake since 1986 and cabins in Estes Park since 1999. We love the area more than anywhere else on Earth. Rocky Mountain National Park will always be the center of our Colorado home.
Mike Thomas purchased this Cabin in 2013
Why Mike Thomas chose Estes Park
This cabin is made for family reunions and family gatherings. We love to help make memories and appreciate guests who come back year after year. Our goal is that every stay in the Rockies is unique and wonderful, and that we can share our love of the mountains with other families and new friends.
What makes this Cabin unique
The views are stunning, as are the different seasons and the amazing wildlife that makes the area its home. We have unobstructed views of nature, regular visits from bald eagles and elk in the yard.

There were 12 adults and we had plenty of room. The house is well-stocked with everything you'll need to cook, play games, and cozy up during the winter. We were stuck inside for a few days with super high winds but no one was bored! Thanks to Mike and family for a great stay!!
Great view, Close to town and RMNP, plenty of space!
Perfect size for our large family for our Thanksgiving trip. The kitchen was fully stocked with everything you could possibly need. You are also close to town for shopping and other needs. Very close proximity to different parts of the National Park!
Excellent house for large family. Excellent location with a gorgeous view of the lake. Our experience was OK however if the porch remodeling project was completed and more attention was given to the routine maintenance our stay would have been outstanding.
A great get away with the family. Will not want to go home!
The kids & grandkids loved all the great things there are to do. We will be back and hope to stay even longer !!
Estes Lake cabin
We had a great time at this cabin. We had 10 adults and 2 young children, and there was room enough for everyone. It's situated on the lake with beautiful views, but it's right next to a busy road leading into town. The house is pretty well insulated, so the road noise wasn't too bothersome, but 2 windows, in the kitchen and in the upstairs bathroom, are old and do very little to keep the wind and cold out. They should be replaced. Otherwise, the cabin is well-stocked with kitchen utensils, board games, books about the area, and it has a big pull-down screen which made it fun to watch movies. The owners did everything possible to make us feel welcome, and we all were glad to have stayed there. If not for some deferred maintenance, we would have rated this cabin with 5 stars.
Spacious house, good location
We used the house as a base for adventures in RMNP and fishing on the front range. Easy access to town was a bonus. House is in good shape overall - clean and well appointed. Nice kitchen with everything one might need. Renovations were midstream for our stay, but this was not a problem. Main floor shower lacks water pressure and Hot Tub is not as advertised (ad said it held 6 but its tiny - fits 2-3 average sized adults, possibly 4 maximum) and is older. Overall we were pleased with our choice and enjoyed our stay.
