The cabin was perfect! Spacious, clean, and very relaxing!
Everything was great. The house was the perfect size for our group of couples. I would say only feedback is to make bunkbeds more comfortable. They move a lot when top bunk person moves over. Other than that, we'd definitely return.
My friends and I spent two nights at the Brocante Chalet this past weekend. This property was PERFECT for our group of 8 adults and one small dog. We originally thought that one couple would have to sleep on the pullout couch in the living room, but there were three queen size beds (two in bedrooms and one in the loft area), which was a pleasant surprise. The room with the bunk beds was larger than expected and could easily accommodate four people. The house was clean and stocked with everything we needed to cook, clean and entertain ourselves for the weekend. As the trip organizer, I received so much positive feedback on the house selection, which made me happy. The property managers were very responsive and the key pick-up and drop-off couldn't have been easier. We would definitely stay here again.
A few things to note:
-There weren't any spices/condiments/oils in the kitchen, so be prepared to bring everything with you.
-There was body wash and a small amount of shampoo/conditioner in the bathroom, but you might want to pack that in as well. The water stayed hot during back to back showers and water pressure was good.
-We all brought extra towels for the hot tub as recommended by another reviewer. A few of us found the hot tub to be a little too hot at 102 degrees so we opted out. However, the tough ones in the group seemed to enjoy it, especially after a day of skiing at Mt. Baker.
-There is no cell service or wifi, which forced us to actually talk to one another. I think this really added to the overall experience.
-It took us ~45 minutes to get to the ski area with some traffic.
-We had three cars, which fit comfortably in the single lane driveway.
-Noise travels easily throughout the house due to the loft/layout. We had a split group of skiers/non-skiers who were on different sleep schedules. The only complaint I received from the group was that you could hear everything from the bedrooms, even when the others were trying to be quiet/respectful.
I was completely underwhelmed by this property. It's in need of some updating, including a coat of paint outside, new furniture, and a dishwasher. The beds were bowed and the bed frames were rickety and noisy. One of the bunk beds was missing the wooden slats that support the top mattress, and instead was supported by a couple slats and a thin piece of plywood, which didn't seem very safe. There is one small shower stall for the whole of the cabin - just be aware of this if you're bringing a large group. The washing machine didn't work. And we couldn't lift the blinds anywhere in the house, per the owners strict signage - which meant that we couldn't open the sliding glass door which leads to the deck. What is the point of having a sliding glass door if you can't use it as a door? Which leads me to another point: There were signs everywhere - like LITERALLY EVERYWHERE. I appreciate you wanting people to use your cabin gently, but the litany of threats (don't do this or it will result in a $100 fine...don't do that or it will result in a $250 fine) is a little over the top. Take a deposit if you're that concerned, or better yet, don't let out your cabin.
On the plus side, the cabin was located on a nice quiet street, the hot tub was in good condition, and I like the internal layout of the place. That said, we won't be staying here again and wouldn't recommend it.
This was a great property! Lots of sleeping space, well equipped kitchen for cooking and a hot tub to top it all off. My only complaint would be the beds, they weren't very comfortable. Also, a quick tip, the Google map directions are incorrect so follow the written directions closely.
We had a great time staying at Brocante. The rooms were comfy and clean. We had 10 people and we slept very comfortably. The kitchen/dining/living area is open concept which is perfect for a weekend away with friends. The kitchen was well stocked with pots, pans etc. The hottub was nice and clean. There were enough towels for everyone. However, if you want to use a different towel for the hot tub vs a shower, plan on using their washer/dryer or bring your own hottub towel. The house is located in a community area but, being surrounded be trees, it is private. The cabin is a few minutes drive away from good hiking and a 30ish minute drive from Mt Baker ski lifts. It is charming and a great get-away! I'd rent the cabin again and would easily recommend it.
