My wife and I enjoyed a very quiet, relaxing and peaceful weekend in this hideaway. This riverfront home was a wonderful choice. Thank you Dan.

Sanctuary on the Suwannee

  • 5 of 5

The Hideaway is truly the perfect location to relax and explore the local beauty of the Suwannee River and nearby springs. Dan's communication was excellent and the check-in and check-out process was seamless. We found the house to be very comfortable, clean and well-appointed. As mentioned in a previous review, and as suggested by Dan, do bring bottled water for drinking as the shallow well servicing the house does have a sulfur smell typical of this area. We enjoyed sitting on the dock with our morning coffee to watch the mist tumble along with the river current and at sunset with our sundowner. There is also a wonderful fire pit to enjoy the night sights and sounds. Dan is certainly gracious to share this special place. Life is good at the Hideaway on the Suwannee!

Thanksgiving 2017

  • 5 of 5

great spot, close to parents, friends and family in the Gainesville area. last minute booking for me since my parents home was filled to the max. My brother and I shared the home, the bedrooms are complete opposite sides in the home so neither of us can hear ourselves snoring! It was really nice to have a cup of coffee sitting out on the deck, really enjoyed the quite scenery. Direct TV had us catching up on late night moves.

Thank you Dan for making our Thanksgiving Day special

Our 3rd stay!

  • 5 of 5

We love this property so much that we've started coming twice per year. Its great for a family or a couples weekend. We're able to park our boat right out front. We enjoy sitting out on the deck or building a fire in the fire pit. The master bed is like sleeping on clouds. We will be back in March!!

A few hiccups, but a decent place.

  • 3 of 5

The property is very pretty and the setting is secluded on the river. A couple of problems that we ran into:

1) When we arrived it was 84 degrees in the house and it took nearly 8 hours for it to cool off to 74 degrees, making the first night there very uncomfortable.

2) There is NO internet or wi-fi, and limited cellular service.

3) Never did find the "floating dock".

4) One old TV in the living room, no televisions in either of the bedrooms.

5) The second day of our stay we went into town and, upon our return to the property, the only drive entrance to the property had been gated shut and locked. We were locked out and had to wait about 20 minutes for someone to unlock the gate and let us in.

Owner's Response: Sorry for your inconveniences. The ac has been fix, the tv will be replaced and I fortunately we lost the floating dock in a storm. Thank you for bring this to our attention we will change our add to no longer state we have a floating dock. We hope you enjoyed your stay and hope to have you back.
