Wonderful home,beautiful views pool was fantastic, and the outdoor seating areas were great. Had a few minor issues but thanks to Mark they were fixed promptly. Would definitely recommend.

quiet week in the sun

Beautiful Cretan holidays

We had the most wonderful family vacation in this lovely villa! Everything went flawlessly, we met Sandra and Jason in Plaka, they showed us the way to the place. We loved the friendliness of the locals, the excellent dinners (with free Raki!)at Elpis and other restaurants, the beaches and the amazing sunsets. We will be back!

Great villa

The villa and the views were excellent. The pool area was lovely and the rooms were all a good size. The kitchen was well equipped, although the fridge was not cold enough and things were going off very quickly which was annoying, as the shop is not in walking distance. Three decent sized dining areas, and the balcony upstairs was brilliant for watching the sunsets! The location of the villa was ok but the description of it was confusing. It is not two minutes to the beach. One of the aircon units was leaking water into the bedroom. The manager came out twice but it was not fixed properly so that needs looking at. But overall it’s a great place to stay. It would be good if the track to it was improved as the rocks make it tricky driving up safely.

Potentially a great villa, but!!!

The villa has a lot going for it, but it feels unloved, little things let it down, only 2 usable sun loungers, a further 2 (unusable) dumped on the wall, the top patio furnishings stained and worn, 2 windows upstairs with odd curtains, a few screws to hold them in place would stop the pole moving and the end falling off, the garden has lots of debris laying around, lots of weeds out the front. It did come as a very big surprise that no cleaning took place for our 3 week stay, no spare sheets or towels, so you had to wash them early, lay them out somewhere and dry them that day, very strange set up. On the positive note the pool area is great, the chairs and furniture on the pool level are comfortable, the kitchen is very well equipped, watching the sunset with a cold beer is the perfect end to the day.

Marc var super til at vise os til huset og til hjælp undervejs. Huset har en fantastisk udsigt fra terassen på 1.sal. Beplantningen burde havde været beskåret, så man også kunne se vandet fra poolen. Poolen og området der er ellers skønt. Huset er overordnet fint med lidt småting, der burde fikses hist og her, men intet graverende. Man kan gå ned til den meget lille by på 10-15 minutter. Almyrida ligger under 10 minutter væk i bil, og der er både strand og flere restauranter.

Entspannte Zeit im Haus von Jean Luc

Wir, 4 Erwachsene haben schöne 14 Tage im Ferienhaus von Jean Luc verbracht. Das Haus ist sehr gut ausgestattet, bei jeder Wetterlage gibt es Möglichketen draußen zu sitzen. Im 1,4 km entfernte Plaka gibt es mehrere gute Tavernen und Einkaufmöglichkeiten. Mit den in im 3 km entfernten Almyrida geliehen Fahrrädern haben schöne Touren gemacht. Aber auch schöne Tage, die wir im wesentlichen am Pool verbracht haben waren dabei

traumhafte Aussicht

Wir waren bereits zum 2. Mal zu Besuch in dem Ferienhaus und haben erneut eine wunderschöne Zeit verbracht. Man hat einen wunderschönen Ausblick auf die Bucht von Almyrida und im Hintergrund die Berge. Allerdings waren wir etwas enttäuscht, da der Pool nicht wie vereinbart regelmäßig gereinigt wurde und sich im Laufe der zwei Wochen immer wieder trüb gefärbt hat, da die Pumpe wohl nicht intakt war. Somit fühlten wir uns teilweise nicht mehr wohl, in den Pool zu gehen und konnten diesen für einige Tage nicht benutzen. Abgesehen davon hatten wir eine tolle Zeit. Im Haus hat jeder genug Platz und zu Fuß erreicht man die traumhafte kleine Bucht von Koutalas.

Maison Ilios

Nous avons séjourné une semaine à l’Ouest à Kokkino Chorio puis une semaine à l’Est pour pouvoir rayonner et visiter plus facilement. A la maison Ilios, la vue de la terrasse est magnifique, la piscine très agréable et la maison bien équipée et climatisée. Voiture indispensable : Commerces et Tavernes à 2 mn à Plaka ou 5 mn à Almyrida. La crique de Koutalas à 2 mn avec ses eaux limpides et le village de Vamos à 15 mn (ambiance très sympathique). Très bonne situation pour rayonner et visiter l’ouest de la Crète (Chania, Falassarna, Georgioupoli, le lac de Kournas Elafonissi au sud-ouest et les villages de montagne, …) Très beau séjour. La Crète est une très belle île et l’accueil particulièrement agréable.

Stunning views and great location

We had a lovely week at the villa. We spent a lot of the time in the pool and relaxing. As others have said, the views of the surrounding coast are stunning. There are supermarkets and tavernas a 15minute walk away. Thanks for a great week!

A nice spot for a family

We spent a month at this villa with our two daughters whom were doing online schooling and we felt the layout worked well and everyone had their own space. We did lots of cooking and the sunroom off the living room was a nice space for meals. The outdoor space is great and we really enjoyed using the grill and outdoor kitchen. The views and sunsets are amazing and we often walked to Plaka to the restaurants and grocery store. It’s also a beautiful place for jogging. We were there a bit early in the season and the pool was pretty cold but we all went for dips anyways and enjoyed the Sun loungers. It’s a nice home base to check out the area!

Traumhafter Ausblick

Wir hatten wunderschöne zwei Wochen in diesem Ferienhaus. Es ist wie beschrieben und man hat einen sehr schönen Ausblick aufs Meer und erlebt traumhafte Sonnenuntergänge. Der Pool war sehr sauber und wurde regelmäßig gesäubert. Der Ort ist fussläufig zu erreichen und nicht zu touristisch - super angenehm. Wir werden sicher wiederkommen.

What a view !

Villa Ilios provided an excellent location for our 2 week family holiday in Crete. We must have stayed in around 20+ villas in various countries and this may be the best views we have ever had. The upstairs balcony with comfortable seating, glass paneling and views over Souda Bay. The sunset, wow. The Villa has most things you need to provide you with a comfortable stay. Wifi, had no complaints from the kids, so that's a bonus. Ground level there are two double bed rooms both with access to the pool, and a 3rd room with 2 singles (all bedrooms with air conditioning). No ensuite, but large shared bathroom with bath and shower. Living and Kitchen area upstairs with a toilet ( with shower) also on that floor. Several balconies. Pool Area, there are plenty of seating and outside dining areas. Outside kitchen with bbq complete with a great cooling fridge for water and beers ( saving trips upstairs). The pool itself was well maintained and clean. There are 4 x sun beds but no poolside umbrellas, so beds got little use due to no shade from that August sun. Jason did find a small beach umbrella in the house to use for one bed. Another small disappointment was no mid week cleaning was provided, even though we have really payed 2 x 1 week costs. That's a first in all villas we have stayed. A washing machine is provided though to wash towels etc. The area is quiet and pretty, although you are within a 15 min walk of several restaurants and small supermarkets, I would recommend a car during the stay at this Villa. It's a dirt track to the 4 private villas of which Ilios is one. We travelled to many beaches in the area from 5 mins to 45 mins, This area really impressed us. Chania ancient city is a must see and the markets too, again 45 mins drive and lots of free parking. I would recommend this Villa for any family holiday in this beautiful area of crete. Already missing those sun sets.

Villa très fonctionnelle et à l’environnement d’une tranquillité impressionnante. Superbe piscine. Très bien située géographiquement. Climatisation efficace (et il le fallait, vu la température crétoise de ce mois d’août).

ruhiges Ferienhaus mit tollem Blick

Das Ferienhaus hat uns insgesamt sehr gut gefallen. Der Blick auf das Meer ist sehr schön und die Lage des Hauses ist sehr ruhig. Man hat viele Sitzmöglichkeiten sowohl am Pool, überdacht am Pool oder auf der Terrasse im 1. Stock. Der Pool ist ebenfalls sehr schön. Etwas gestörrt hat uns, dass das Objekt nicht ganz sauber war. Man musste schon erst einmal die Backbleche, Töpfe, Kaffeemaschine etc. säubern, bevor man sie nutzen konnte. Die vorhandenen Besen etc. sind in keinem guten Zustand. Bei 2 Wochen Aufenthalt mussten wir nach Nachfrage die Handtücher in der vorhandenen Waschmaschine selber waschen. Das Bett im Schlafzimmer der Eltern war für meinen Mann (187 cm) etwas zu kurz. Der Ort in der Nähe ist sehr nett und man kann dort in vielen Restaurants direkt am Meer sehr gut essen gehen.

Great location. Photos don't do the view justice particularly at sunset

Lovely villa in a great location. Can walk to local shops and restaurants in 25 minutes but anything else requires a car. Good pool and BBQ area. The views across the bay and towards the white mountains are a lot better than the photos suggest. Well equipped kitchen for home catering ( coffee machine was the only small glitch) good showers and comfortable beds.

hâvre de paix

villa très agréable vue imprenable sur la baie de souda la piscine à débordement est très agréable la maison est très fonctionnelle Angela et son mari, qui s occupent de la maintenance de la maison, sont sur place et sont très serviables et disponibles . Je recommande vivement cette location et y retournerai avec grand plaisir .

très agréable séjour

15 jours de vacances parfaites pour 3 couples dans cette belle villa Ilios; dennis nous attendait à 22 h dans le petit village de Plaka pour nous conduire jusqu'à la location;vue magnifique depuis la terrasse sur la baie de Souda et les montagnes; piscine très appréciée au retour de nos ballades(La Canée, lagon de Balos,Loutro,Matala,Prevelli ....); très bon souvenir de notre séjour et nous recommandons vivement cette location .

Goede plek en mooie uitvalbasis

Perfecte locatie en heerlijk huis. Een huis met een prachtig uitzicht over het water. Klein minpuntje was de zwakke waterstraal in de douche maar dat mag geen naam hebben tegen al het goeds wat dit huis te bieden heeft. Een fantastisch Engels stel, Angela en Dennis, die altijd bereid waren je van informatie te voorzien als je vragen had. Kortom een aanrader en ben zeker van plan om dit huis nog een keer te huren.

Magnifique Propriété avec vue incroyable sur la baie de Souda

Nous avons passé 17 jours à la Villa Ilios en Juillet/Août 2016. Notre séjour a été merveilleux. Tout d'abord la Villa est superbe et parfaitement entretenue. La vue sur la baie de Souda est incroyable et nous ne nous lassions pas du coucher de soleil La villa est parfaitement équipée. Rien ne manque. Le coin barbecue et la piscine sont vraiment très agréable. Coté propreté, rien à dire. La villa a été impécable. Angela est même venue à mi séjour pour nettoyer la maison et changer les draps. Quant à l'accueil, il a été parfait. Dennis et Angela sont très sympathiques et tout a été très simple à notre arrivée. Enfin, la situation géographique de la Villa est très bonne. Dans un petit village très agréable (Plaka) et à 20 km de la magnifique ville de La Canée. C'est vraiment un endroit idéal pour visiter l'ouest de la Crête. Nous recommandons donc cette Villa à tous ceux qui souhaitent venir visiter la Crête.

"des vacances royales entre amis"

Un havre de calme et de beauté avec une vue magnifique sur la baie de souda,maison spacieuse climatisé et très propre, extérieur agréable avec un jardin entretenu et une piscine a débordement avec un plus coté coup de cœur pour le magnifique coin pull house en pierre (lieu ou nous avons passé de longues soirée apéro-grillades :) situé a 2 km d'une petite crique et a quelques km d'almerida ville très sympathique avec sa plage, ses commerces et restaurants... nous nous sommes régalés a recommander sans hésitation a vous soleil,farniente,visites et plages paradisiaque direction la crête et son village de chania
