CELEBRATE IN PERFECT PARADISE

  • 5 of 5

Villa Paraiso is amazing! The property is simply stunning with gorgeous 360 degree views. My family and I arrived to find beautifully appointed rooms with lovely personal touches that the owners and property manager Susan had arranged for us, toiletry baskets with organic soaps and a beautiful welcome basket. It was so thoughtful touch that kicked off our wedding celebration week off right. The integrated sound system in the house is killer and being able to play music at different volumes throughout the home was perfect because our guests ranged in ages from 30's to 60's. Our family and friends could not stop raving about how beautiful the home is, how it was such a great place to entertain with both an indoor and outdoor kitchen and ice machines on both levels to make keeping your cocktails chilled a breeze. We hosted our Rehearsal Dinner/Welcome Party there and it was spectacular. The pool is beautiful with jets and lights. Everything about this home is top notch. All you really need to bring is your bathing suit. We also loved that there were many common areas and yet it felt very private and intimate. LOVE!

Susan, the property manager went above and beyond and helped me move 50 Welcome Bags from my car to the house without a moment's hesitation and was available for any questions. She's super enthusiastic and it's obvious that she loves caring for Villa Paraiso and it's guests.

Villa Paraiso, we miss you and can't wait to go back.

Paraiso

  • 5 of 5

Paraiso was ideal! The property is stunning from the views to all of the amenities provided. The location was perfect on top of the hill and the breezes were soothing. The house is thoughtfully laid out with private bedrooms yet great common areas to enjoy with friends. We felt safe and secure. By far the highlight of our stay was Susan wo took such amazing care of us. We explored the entire island but Paraiso was so nice to come "home" to. I look forward to visiting Paraiso again!

Great house with fabulous views!

  • 4 of 5

We had a lcvely stay at Paraiso - the house is modern and fully appointed and Susan, the house manager is a pleasure. The four bedrooms are comfortable as are the common areas but what is incredible about the home is the opportunity for indoor/outdoor living. The town of Isabel is a short walk and has whatever you need including the ferry, groceries, dining, etc.

All in all a really fun vacation property with a nice pool and amazing views.

Lovely!

  • 4 of 5

Our stay at Paraiso was wonderful. Susan Osborn our caretaker took care of every detail quickly and efficiently. The house was beautiful with many high end amenities, it made staying there a pleasure. We really appreciated the fact that beaching equipment ( chairs, coolers, snorkeling gear, towels ) was provided. Beautiful views of the sunrises and sunsets were enjoyed from the lovely upstairs living space. The pool area was very much appreciated and enjoyed by all in our group. The house could not have been more perfect for us, 4 couples. We especially liked Mr. Kurtz the resident cat! He would visit every morning and evening! Very entertaining.

We all liked the fact that Vieques is not built up with high rise hotels or chain stores and they have many acres of beautiful protected preserves which you are allowed to enjoy. The beaches are clean and uncrowded. The restaurants were fun and funky and the food was superb. The people that we encountered were all very friendly.

The wild life ( horses, dogs, cats, birds, mongoose, chickens ) is quite extensive and interesting. The roosters of which there must be hundreds posed a bit of a challenge for sleeping as they prefer to "sing" starting in the very wee hours of the morning, with the many dogs liking to join in! After a night or two of that we figured it out and slept well on very comfortable beds!

All in all we spent a lovely week kayaking, horseback riding, snorkeling, beaching, birdwatching, hiking, and generally relaxing.

You can do as much or as little as you want on Vieques!

I would highly recommend this house, it really was quite lovely.

A winter vacation in Paradise

  • 5 of 5

We've been back from our winter break for about a week now and I miss Paraiso more every day - and not just because the temps are 40-50 degrees cooler here at home. Paraiso is a beautiful property that had everything you could possibly need on a beach vacation - from beach chairs and coolers to a fully stocked kitchen. We were a party of seven-two couples and our three boys - ages 9, 10 and 11.

The property itself is beautiful and so spacious that the adults could enjoy a drink on the deck (and listen to music on the Sonos sound system) and the boys could be playing - either in the pool, shooting hoops or occasionally watching tv. We were out and about exploring the beaches and the island (after packing up the beach chairs, umbrellas and coolers that were provided) every day and typically came back during the late afternoon to relax, make dinner and enjoy the views.

The entire property was immaculate. And the pictures don't do it justice. The beds were comfy and there was an ample supply of bath and beach towels. The kitchen had every appliance one could need to make and enjoy a relaxing meal -which we did frequently as we were vacationing with our children.

The owners really have thought of everything and in the event you need anything their property manager, Susan, is there to come to your aid.

If you visit Vieques make sure you take a biobay tour and try snorkeling at the different beaches. Bananas in Esperanze was good for a late afternoon lunch and the don't miss Black Sand Beach.

We all loved the island of Vieques and hope that we make it back for another vacation - and we'd definitely want to stay at Paraiso again.

Paraiso is #1

  • 5 of 5

Our group was delighted with our accommodations at Paraiso! Your home is beautiful and a true island paradise! Our stay on Vieques was terrific from exploring the beaches, experiencing the BioBay glass bottomed kayak tour, feasting at the local eateries, and even cooking our own lobster and fish dinner after shopping at the local fish market. We enjoyed good shopping, and explored both Isabella and Esperanza. We grew to enjoy the white noise during the night of the roosters, dogs, frogs, breezes, etc.

Everyone loved the showers open to the outdoors. The ocean views and lush yard were amazing. The Sonos music system was a great addition to our hours at the house. All the amenities provided were above our expectations, from welcome basket and shower amenities to all the beach equipment provided! Not a detail was overlooked in providing for our every need during our week at this beautiful home and island!

We truly enjoyed our tropical week away from central Iowa who endured a 9.5 inch snow while we were away. The weather was PERFECT!

Thanks for all the great information provided by Susan with her recommendations for shopping, eating, transportation, etc. Not once were we led astray!

Again, gracious thanks in providing such a grand home for our stay!.

Kindest regards,

The Aspengrens, Nystroms, Petersons, Soders, and Whyte

Owner's Response: We are delighted you enjoyed your stay, and thank you for your kind words! The showers open to the outdoors are indeed popular, and we have now improved them. There already were screens over the bedroom windows; and while still open to the outdoors, we have now fully screened the shower and whirlpool bath areas as well.

Atlantic Ocean Beaches
Car: recommended

Welcome to Vieques, Puerto Rico, USA! Surrounded by the Atlantic Ocean and the Caribbean Sea, and located about 8 miles east of the Puerto Rico mainland, this wonderful island is only 21 miles long and 4 miles wide at its broadest point.

Also known as Isla Nena (Little Girl Island), Vieques is blessed with temperatures that rarely fluctuate from the mid-eighties during the day to the mid-seventies at night. Vieques is easy to get to from the U.S. (no passport required), and just a short flight from San Juan or a ferry ride from Fajardo, PR. You will not find any casinos, golf courses, movie theaters, stop lights or fast food; but you will find the Vieques National Wildlife Refuge, over 17,000 acres that are home to at least 4 endangered plant species and 10 endangered animal species. You will find an excellent historical museum at the restored El Fortin Conde de Mirasol on the north side of the island, and the Vieques Conservation and Historical Trust in the lively resort area of Esperanza, on the southern coast. And Vieques is home to the brightest and best-known bio-luminescent bay in the world, with excellent guides who will take you on an unforgettable excursion.

But most of all, you will find miles and miles of pristine and uncrowded white sand beaches, perfect for just sunbathing, sailing and snorkeling. Get away from it all and embrace the peace and beauty that still exist in only a few places in the Caribbean! Very soon, you will learn to yield the right of way to the wild horses who roam the island. But do not be fooled by our unspoiled beauty. We are also home to world-class restaurants, art galleries, fun shopping and some of the best sightseeing in the Caribbean.

Paraíso, with its 360-degree view, is located in the lovely hillside neighborhood of Bravos de Boston, on the north of Vieques. You will be able to see Puerto Rico to the west, our sister island Culebra to the north, and St. Thomas and St. John in the U.S. Virgin Islands to the northeast. Bravos is a neighborhood of both large and small homes within walking distance of busy Isabel Segunda on the northerly coast. The house is enclosed with privacy walls, an electronic gate for easy access and is nestled within beautiful private gardens that create the peaceful atmosphere Hacienda Vistas is known for.

We do recommend renting a car from one of the Vieques Island car rental companies, so that you can explore our island at your leisure.

To find out more about our island visit enchanted-isle.com or vieques.travel on the Internet. Vieques has been featured in the New York Times, on the Today show, and on HGTV. “They” are finding us….now it is your turn. Come see why the Today show calls our Island “luxury for less”, and find out what it is like to live on an unspoiled island in the Caribbean!
