Guestbook comments from the owner

Thank you so much! Our stay was more than we could have ever hoped for! The views are amazing, the heaters work wonders, and the house/cabin is the perfect size for just two or the whole family.

We had the best honeymoon ever thanks to this place! We'll definitely want to come back soon!!

Thank You!!!

This was our second time staying at the Chalet

  • 5 of 5

I booked the Chalet after our initial stay back in May just a few days after returning home from our trip and I definitely don't regret the decision. Our second stay at the Chalet was just as wonderful and my wife was thrilled to be back as a surprise for her birthday. Who knows? It may become a tradition!

A great way to show off North Eastern Arizona to family from South Africa.

A charming knotty-pine A-Frame with amazing window wall and loft. The private setting was tree-filled. We appreciated the kind extras like coffee and wine when we arrived. The propane grill was handy for grilling brats and burgers. It was our home base for exploring the Mogollon Rim. Outside of Payson approximately 10 miles, we really felt like we had gotten away from it all. The WIFI worked and the furnishings were beautiful. Directions were detailed, however, finding the precise lot was not easy. A simple flag or name on the gate would have helped us from missing the house in the first place. Otherwise, all was better than expected. We will return again.

Peaceful retreat

  • 5 of 5

This was our second stay at this lovely cabin. The location is a major plus for the Tonto Forrest is on one side and the Verde River and trail is just at the end of the driveway. We love the seclusion and it is peaceful. The cabin is stocked with all the kitchen items you may need. It also has a BBQ which we used as well. That was a bonus. The cabin is clean which is important to us. We brought our dogs for they love it here. The weather is cooler and they love to hike around the Verde River. Gabriel, the owner, makes sure you have a wonderful experience while you are here. We highly recommend this cabin for anyone who is wanting to get away from city life and will enjoy the simple pleasures and peace of this lovely cabin and its surroundings!

We would get up early enjoy our coffe and watch and listen to the elk.Great for hiking and my dogs. The temperature was a cool 78 degrees compared to Phoenix of 112.This place is nice and secluded we enjoyed not having people right next to you. Pine trees all around and great mountains views.

WONDERFUL! PEACEFUL! RELAXING!

  • 5 of 5

From the moment we landed, the vacation was incredible!!!!... easy directions from the Phoenix air port...although driving up to control road was easier to get to the cabin. Once we got there, the cabin was beautiful!!!! The BBQ was great and the patio was where we ate our meals. We also got to see the Tonto Natural Bridge, Sedona, and Route 66!!!! The highlight was the helicopter ride over the Grand Canyon!!!! We for sure will be back...maybe with more family next time. We saw a baby black bear chasing a bob-cat, elk and many species of birds... THIS VACATION WAS ONE OF THE BEST VACATIONS EVER...and we have been all over the US....Thank You so much for opening your home to us. Sincerely Lynn and Neil, St. Clair Shores Michigan.

Leave the city behind, and prepare for an abundance of nature. Come to the base of the Majestic Mogollon Rim. After a beautiful 25 minute drive from the city of Payson you will arrive at our chalet. Our cabin is very secluded and is backed up to National Forest. Hiking trails off the back property offer easy access for nature lovers such as ourselves. The Highline trail as well as beautiful Washington park are minutes from the cabin. You may however, not want to leave the cabin. Our chalet is cozy and romantic. We feel it's an ideal place for a couple to take a break from the stresses of life. Enjoy a glass of wine on the deck while watching the many species of birds. Because of our proximity to the national forest we have no shortage of elk passing by. We invite you spend a few days in front of the Mogollon rim.
