About the property

FULLY RESTORED 12 ROOM FARMHOUSE BUILT IN 1855 for rent. The house has 5 bedrooms, 2 baths, and is located in the Northeast Kingdom of Vermont.

With the VAST snowmobile trail system easily accessible from the property and both Jay Peak and Burke Mountain about 20 miles away, this house is the perfect destination for winter enthusiasts. Jay Peak’s indoor water park is also open year round for those who would like a break from winter activities.

Winter is not the only season full of fun and adventurous activities in Vermont’s Northeast Kingdom. The summer season brings activities like hiking and mountain biking, as well as kayaking, fishing, swimming, and golfing. Hike some of the numerous and beautiful nearby mountains, or bike the Kingdom Trails system in the Burke area. Kayak, fish, or swim in Lake Memphremagog, Crystal Lake, or Lake Willoughby. All are nearby. You can also fish the Black River from the back yard. Not far away, Jay Peak Resort is home to an 18-hole championship golf course, in addition to an ice arena, tram rides, and as previously mentioned, an indoor waterpark.

There are many restaurants nearby, and the house is just a short distance from the Newport area. The house is also on a well-traveled road just 5 miles from I-91, so roads are well taken care of in the winter. It is just over 3 hours from Boston, under 6 hours from New York City, and 2 hours from Montreal.

So lovely and welcoming.

We recently had the pleasure of staying in this beautiful Farmhouse. I wish we had had more days there. Spending time with family in the Northeast Kingdom of Vermont for a beautiful wedding and this Farmhouse made coming home in the evening a relaxing and inviting place to be. The inside is gorgeous and there were so many extras there at the house that you wouldn't expect for a rental to have. The beds were in great shape plenty of Linens extra pillows extra blankets. I would highly recommend anyone looking for a rental to stay at this lovely home.

Nicely Restored Farm House

  • 5 of 5

This property is a great find in the NEK. We were attending a family function in nearby Irasburg. We selected this property as it was close by and pet friendly. The house is large enough for a group, allowing everyone to have their own space. We did not spend much time at the house, but were happy with the set-up and extras such as soap and shampoo. The back deck looks wonderful for enjoying summer weather and watching wildlife. Our family stopped by as they were interested in viewing the renovations, as they were aware of the previous condition from driving by. Everyone was impressed with the end result.

Excellent house!

  • 5 of 5

The house was perfect for our weekend away! We had a large group of adults that all fit comfortably in the house without being crowded. We were able to hangout and cook together but still have separate space when we wanted it. Thank you!

We hosted Thanksgiving dinner in our home away from home. Everything we needed was there. Glenn and Helen were excellent.

Clean, spacious, comfortable - a home away from home

  • 5 of 5

We were in Vermont for our son's wedding in Newport, VT and this house was just ideal. It became our home for the week. Our three sons, girlfriends and grandpa were all able to stay with us for the weekend. There was plenty of room and everything was so clean (a huge thing for me). The bedrooms were cozy and the beds all comfortable. There were plenty of towels and hot water for showers! The kitchen was well equipped, though we did bring some of our own things just in case. I really appreciated there being soap, shampoo, dish detergent, laundry detergent, as well as ziploc bags, aluminum foil, etc. to start us off, until we could go to the store. The groomsmen were there on the morning of the wedding, and there was plenty of room in the kitchen to set up a breakfast spread for them before taking photos.

It was very cool when we were there, so we didn't spend much time on the deck, but the yard is spacious and well groomed - very lush when we were there. There is a lovely pathway at the back of the house that leads to a stream - our dog loved the long morning walks we could take her on! The Beans have done a lovely job with the remodeling and decorating of the house. I would recommend this property to anyone and we will be staying here again!!

A beautiful house in beautiful, scenic Vermont!

  • 5 of 5

We had an amazing time in Vermont while staying at this property. The house, with comfortable beds and linens, is in pristine condition with old world flavor and new world amenities and decor. The owners were accommodating and made us feel so comfortable in their home! My kids enjoyed splashing in the river in the back of the property. We stayed in the summer and found wonderful, kid-friendly activities to do, like the tram ride at Jay Peak resort, alpaca and llama farms, and a small beach (Prouty Beach) off a lake that spans both the US and Canada! We would definitely stay here again and have already telling our family and friends about it!
