Grace Oaks is a lovely home for your retreat or getaway. Nestled in mountains, just a mile and a half from Mariposa, 'The Gateway to Yosemite,' and decorated with the theme of the wildlife that roam nearby, you'll enjoy coming home to this retreat after a day in Yosemite, or Historic Mariposa. The home features a game room (pool table and foosball)
jacuzzi, wrap around deck, fire circle, TV, Books, Wifi, a fully functional kitchen, 3 bedrooms, 3 baths, fireplace w/ insert. Nearby Mariposa and other historic towns like Coulterville, Hornitos, Bear Valley, the mariposa museum, and the state mineral exhibit are fun to explore.
In the summer the town is alive with tourists, weekend 'Music on the Green' featuring local artists in a lovely park setting, occasional open air movies on the park lawn.
A fun time to visit is in the spring, when the falls in Yosemite are running. Mariposa has it's butterfly festival, and parade (usually the first weekend in May.) The poppies in the Briceburg canyon are breath-taking.
Fall is also wonderful; Starting with the Labor Day Parade and old fashioned Mariposa County Fair. I love the colors that come with the changing of the leaves, and the crisp air.
Winter is great, especially if we have a few snows! The Mariposa Christmas parade is usually the first weekend in December, as is the annual Christmas Craft fair. Yosemite offers some fun activities at the Ahwannee, as well as ice skating, and skiing, or it's always fun to drive there to see the Lord's majestic Creation. It's also fun to just relax at Grace Oaks... away from the hustle and on the porch and watch for deer (which I see here everyday,) wild turkeys, quail,& rabbits, while you enjoy a good book...( and I just saw a coyote there today.) Roast marshmellows around our fire circle, or hang out under the stars in our Jacuzzi.
Nothing beats a family Christmas away from the city. Get away and remember what a simple quiet CHRISTmas is really all about.
You can't beat the price... all these rooms and a kitchen for the same price of one little stuffy hotel room. What do you have to lose?. ;)

About Victoria Trujillo
I am a Christian mother of 7 and grandmother of 12. My husband proposed to me 41 years ago, and we are still very happily married. It has been a dream of mine for many years to host a vacation home. I have worked for other vacation homes and a Bed and Breakfast, and looked forward to the day that I could buy my own.
Victoria Trujillo purchased this House in 2014
Why Victoria Trujillo chose Mariposa
This property is everything I could have dreamed of. i loved the two stories, the air of years gone by. The old hammer and horse shoes stuck into the Mariposite fireplace. The fire pit reflects my love of playing my guitar around the fire while family and church friends roasted marshmallows, sang songs, and shared memories. There is a small road that meanders down to a seasonal creek bed. I especially enjoy watching the shadows fall as the sun goes down, and seeing the patches of light on the surrounding mountains from the back porch swing. There are no street lights here so the stars seem brighter. I love the weather here. The summers can get 'Gold Country Warm' and the winters can chill (with an occasional snow fall) but I love it here. God is good. Soo Good.

Great Place to Stay near Yosemite Park, Great Hosts
The house is quite lovely, very clean, spacious, nice bathrooms, beautiful furnishings and the beds were very comfortable and that meant a great deal to us after an active 1/2 day in Yosemite. Ken's suggestion to visit the tourist information center in Mariposa before we went to the park was crucial and spot on!. She gave us wise advice about visiting the park (because of summer crowds) and mentioned a great restaurant in downtown Mariposa for dinner (ranked number one I believe and delicious). On our second day we got to the park early and experienced much before the crowds (her advice). We were pleased with our visit (only one and 1/2 days) and experience and highly recommend the house and area. Thanks from Sharon
We LOVED staying at Grace Oaks.
The home was just as pictured in HomeAway. It had everything in it we could use including towels, dishes, and condiments just to name a few odds and ends. We really loved coming back "home" after a long day in Yosemite Park and be able to relax in the hot tub, around the fire pit or simple watch the mountains while the sunset. Our teens would even wake early enough to watch the sun rise, which there is a perfect view of. We enjoyed the Foosball table and some of the games. Never turned the TV because there was too much beauty before our eyes and other fun things to do.
The beds were all comfortable and the showers/bathrooms great. I loved the big dining room table, ample room for a large party and all the seating outside was awesome! So peaceful around the house, saw a deer in the yard one afternoon when we returned from a trip to the park.
Thanks for providing such a lovely place to rest our weary bones! We look forward to our next visit to Yosemite and perhaps Grace Oaks will be available again!
Stayed July 2016
Amazing secluded home perfect for star gazing!!
We loved our stay at Grace Oaks. The home is very spacious and well supplied to make our stay very relaxing. Victoria and Ken are very kind, gracious hosts and have done an awesome job making their home comfortable. We loved enjoying our dinners out on the deck and star gazing while sitting in the hot tub. The drive to Yosemite was beautiful. My only negative is that there were not enough wash cloths for everyone in our group of seven to have one, and it was somewhat stressful trying to make sure every item was returned to the exact spot it was found because the owners have the cleaners photograph all the cabinets, etc, after a guest leaves to make sure nothing has disappeared. This is a difficult request in a strange home with a large group of people using the kitchen etc., and was a new requirement in all the years we have used VRBO. This does not change my five-star rating. Thank you, Victoria and Ken, for sharing your home with us. We would stay here again if we return to Mariposa.
Cozy and spacious country home
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Nice location just a few minutes from downtown Mariposa. Many nice features for the enjoyment of the whole family.
Thank you or the nice comment.
Great family spot for retreat or Yosemite visit
This home was wonderful for our family visit to Yosemite! It was roughly 40 minutes to the El Portal entrance on main, but windy roads. It's also less than ten minutes from Mariposa and an assortment of shops.
The home is very comfortable both inside and out. We saw deer in the mornings, enjoyed wonderful stargazing at night, and would welcome more time there! There were six of us and plenty of room to spread out or join together for meals. The kitchen was well stocked with cooking supplies and a closet was stocked with games, books, and movies. It's a great location for kids or adults. We hope to visit again.
Thank you Shannon. We would be happy to have you anytime! You were a wonderful guest.
Beautiful Unique Home
We loved the house. It has a lot of room and some hidden rooms that my son loved playing in. The property is quiet but close to the town and about a 45 minute drive to the El Portal entrance of Yosemite. We enjoyed being able to barbecue each night, eat on the patio and sit by the fire. We would definitely stay here again!
Thank you or the nice comment.
