Bedroom with one twin bed and one pyramid bunk (twin top/full size bottom), TV/Cable, sliding glass door opens to ocean. Full hall Bathroom with combination tub/shower. Laundry room with washer and dryer.

Top Level: Main King master bedroom with flat screen TV/Cable, in suite bathroom. Living room with flat screen TV/Cable and DVD player. Fully stocked large kitchen and dining area. Sliding glass doors open to top deck to ocean and beach.

Linens: Comforters, pillows, bath mats, and kitchen towels are provided. You provide your own linens (sheets, pillowcases, shower and beach towels) or they can be rented through a local company. Recommendations can be provided.

During Summer Season Turnover Day: Saturday (mid May to end of September).

Off season turnover can be arranged for any day.

3 Night minimum stay during non peak summer season. 2 night stays can be arranged with the addition of a $100 cleaning fee. For 2016 Season - We can accommodate any turnover day from Oct 1 - Dec 31. For 2017 Season - We can accommodate any turnover day from Jan 1 - May 10 and Sept 30 - Dec 31.

About Elizabeth & Lucas Munn

My husband and I both grew up vacationing every year in the Outer Banks.

My family was the beach bum type. My mom has always been a lover of the beach so we spent every vacation on the beach as much as possible. From building sand castles, swimming, floating, boogie boarding, and having a nap on the beach...we knew how to relax! To this day my favorite thing to do is pack a picnic and eat lunch by the ocean. Seafood was always on the menu while at the beach so my dad would catch fish for us or go get us steamed crabs and shrimp!

My husbands family was more about the experience. They enjoyed visiting the aquarium, finding the best local restaurants, and playing putt putt. They knew how to find an adventure!

The two of us together are a pretty good mix of the two. We enjoy going and finding adventures but also love a good nap by the ocean.

Perfect Location! Back yard is literally the beach!

The Outer Banks is my absolute favorite place in the world! I love both the northern and southern ends of this magical place and this house sits right in the middle and directly on the beach with unobstructed views of the ocean! The back yard is the beach! When you leave the house, if you choose to go right, you can head to Kitty Hawk, KDH, Duck (love) or Corolla and Manteo is right there! Should you go left, you head to Rodanthe, Hatteras, Ocracoke! The Bodie Lighthouse is right down the street! I honestly can't think of a more ideal setting and I love the views from the kitchen and the open floor plan with regards to the kitchen and living room which also has a large deck from which to watch the most stunning sunrises you will ever see! I would live in this house if I could and I can't wait to go back!! :)

Very Clean Unbeatable View Oceanfront House!!!!

My family and I stayed at the Sea Urchin on 8/20. The house was everything we could have asked for and very clean. The views are to die for, expansive sunrises and ocean views from every window for as long as the eye can see. I felt like I was vacationing in the Caribbean because of the proximity to the ocean. There were crabs and seagulls and wildlife on the beach in front of the house and it was so nice to not have to drag our stuff over massive dunes. I fell in love with the kitchen so much so that I asked the owner about their counter tops so we can update our kitchen. The two masters bedrooms are kings and comfortable which was great because neither myself nor my parents had to concede on who got a queen versus a king, and if outside is not your thing as my parents are elderly and were not able to stay outside the entire day they have a 50" wall mounted tv. This house has everything that someone looking to go to a beach has to offer. We are not usually people who write reviews but did after coming back to re-book this house for next year and seeing a bad review that we felt compelled to because the owners are the easiest people who really do care about their home. After staying at this house you can tell the bad reviews were people just wanting a discount or to stay for free and usually will come from a lower class of people. I laughed out loud when one of the complaints was dust behind the refrigerator. If you come to an oceanfront cottage and pull out the refrigerator to check for dust you obviously have more pressing mental issues needing to be addressed. Book with confidence, wonderful house, wonderful location, wonderful responsive owners. 5 stars already booked for next year! Great family house.

Dave & Family Rented the Sea Urchin Inn Property ID 651752, September 10 thru 17, 2016

Close to the Beach is the #1 Rental point about this house, overall the home condition was a let down, if you have high expectations for your money this property is not what you want. Overall Cleanliness, smell when you enter, dirty carpet, overall condition of the furniture and beds, including outside available furniture to sit on the decks was poor. Rental property pictures available on the VRBO net are old and do not represent the true condition that we found the house upon arrival. From cleaning out the outside shower that was filled with sand, rusty chairs, and rusty trashed barbecue pits, to having to repair the downstairs King bed frame, cleaning the essential areas of the house became our priority upon arrival. The owner was immediately called and told of the house conditions, photos were provided to the owner of the conditions after our stay and we actually cut our vacation short one day early due to our disappointment of the conditions under which we stayed. Parking at the property you will need a 4 wheel drive vehicle due to the amount of sand in and around the parking spaces. As I stated to the owner "We will not use VRBO again for our rental Vacation stays in the Outer Banks in the future". We recommended to the owners that in the future they should always insure that their customers are satisfied, we know that we were staying at a Beach House, this excuse does not make your renters Happy, the owners have a lot of work to do.

Owner's Response: I would rate this guest 1 star as well - the worst I've ever dealt with renting the home. He fails to mention his rental was right after a tropical storm. The winds caused damage under the home which resulted in needing new ductwork to make the HVAC operational. The repair was completed at 1pm on his arrival day. Workers were coming in & out so the cleaning crew had to wait until they were done before cleaning. He also did not mention his son arrived before the HVAC workers were finished & when they did not lock the door he let himself in 3 hours early & refused to let our cleaning crew in. Why did the house smell? It had gone days without any air flow & our cleaning crew was denied access. When he called I explained this but all I got were curse words & because his wife wanted specific cleaning products used he refused to let my cleaning crew in even after I offered to have them bring & use those products. As far as the carpets being dirty, they are dark blue which shows sand and Chem Dry just cleaned the carpets on August 29th so they were definitely not dirty. Chem Dry cleans quarterly since we are dog friendly. The home is accurately shown in photos - I update photos anytime I make a change, even a new comforter. The updates were completed in March 2015 so they certainly have not deteoriated so badly in that time. It’s common for chairs & boogie boards to be stored in the outside shower of a beach home due to wind. They are left by previous guests, we do not provide them but allow them to stay & many families appreciate that. I'm reconsidering allowing this to continue since it caused a complaint which is sad for future families. Parking is for 2 non 4WD & 1 4WD due to drifting sand in that location - it's clearly stated in our listing & our rental agreement. The parking area was cleared prior to this guest after the storm but his complaint was his son backed into sand that was at the neighbors across the street instead of backing straight onto the road. We only pay our bills & only clear our parking. We cannot control neighbors. Considering all this you would think the guest would understand he was coming to an area that just suffered a natural disaster where many homes suffered terrible damage. To expect a clean home when our cleaning crew could not complete their duties due to unapproved early arrival & denial of entry by the guest himself is unreasonable. It’s a great location & great views even stated by this guest and also in other reviews.

Great view and location, but that's about it, expected better for the price.

Although the owners are very nice and were in touch with us during our stay due to other issues, I would personally not stay here again. Your home is only as clean as you keep it, or in this case, pay someone else to do it. Of course I vacuumed before we left even though my dog does not shed but I am sure no one would have noticed if I didn't. When I checked under the beds to make sure nothing was left behind. I found numerous wads of "dust bunnies", a band-aid a sock(not ours) and tissues. The beds were a joke, mattresses were awful, felt like I was sleeping in a hole and forget the conditions of the mattress pads,gross. My daughter spotted a shirt between the couch and the wall that someone left. The kitchen, yes, recently upgraded, but it wouldn't hurt to get a broom between the counter and the refrigerator once in awhile.These are all things I would expect the cleaning person to take care of and notice especially for the price we paid. I planned on cooking there, but could not bring myself to do it, so instead we had take out. They offer a grill, but you can get a better grill at your local park. So honestly, the view and location can't be beat, but I can't help but feel we were taken advantage of because this is all they have going for them. I am sure there are plenty of CLEAN houses that have the same,maybe even better, views and beach access. Maybe some vacationers don't mind some of these things, which may be why it is the way it is, but I do mind and expect a little better for the price, especially when you hire someone and expect them to keep your house in good shape.

Owner's Response: We are really surprised by this review as the only communication we had with this guest was to send back out the cleaning company because they wanted new shower curtain liners put in the two bathrooms. We have plenty in stock for them to change out so this was no issue and our cleaning company did come back. We are always happy to send them back if a guest feels something was left inadequate but this was our first request this entire season. At the time of sending the cleaning company back I told the guest to keep them as long as they wished if they found anything else they were not happy with as we do pay very good money for a cleaning service and do expect things to be turned over in a clean condition to the next renter. I did speak with this guest directly after the cleaning company left to verify she was happy and she voiced no other concern. The master bedroom mattress is a king size pillow top Sealy mattress that we personally had put in the house in January of this year to the tune of $3000. Maybe it is too soft for some people, but I did put it in for my comfort in mind as it is the same type of mattress that I prefer at my home as I like to feel like I’m sleeping on a cloud – you cannot please everyone with your choice of mattress unfortunately. If the kitchen was dirty to the point she did not feel comfortable cooking why did this guest not have them re-clean it when they were sent back? No one really wants to cook on vacation – I get it – but do not blame it on a cleanliness issue. We actually had two grills at the location so I’m again not sure what that comment is about. We also keep a brand new grill in storage at the location because of the extreme oceanfront location we have to replace them multiple times a year due to the elements. If she had voiced her displeasure in the grill I would have had a new one brought out of storage. Overall, we cannot please everyone and had no problem sending back the cleaning company when this guest contacted us. The house has a great location - you will not get better views or closer to the ocean without being on a boat which is why we have many happy and returning guests.

Stunning views and all the amenities

This house is Right On the Beach! From the living room couch and dining room table, you feel as if you could be at sea, such are the views and proximity of the ocean - extraordinary. The house itself is incredibly light-filled and has all the amenities. There had been a rough storm prior to our arrival, resulting in shifted sands blocking the driveway, and then a service-call related power outage on one floor, but the owners were incredibly responsive and worked to get these items resolves ASAP, even coming out to the house to check on us. The house is really lovely, well-maintained, well laid-out, and spacious. We would definitely rent it again in the future.

Title: Amazing location great experience

Review: My wife and I booked this house for a last min getaway and we are so glad we did. The owners are very kind and organized. They were able to accommodate our last min request to rent the home. They were very helpful with local tips of the area,too. The home sits on the beach with the best view of any of the homes up and down the beach. There is over 180 degree view of the ocean. The home is well kept and very comfortable and relaxing. If you want a relaxing place with great views and pet friendly with great owners, this is your place. We will certainly rent this home again.
