About Ivan

We are a middle-aged couple with a vacation home (and mortgage) instead of a retirement account. We enjoy the outdoors and unspoiled scenic views.

Ivan purchased this cabin in 2013

What makes this cabin unique

We have the best property in Central Oregon. Shortly after buying this home and well into an extensive remodeling/finishing project, we were told by a neighbor who is a long-time resident of the area that he had always thought we had the best place in central Oregon. The river view, wooded state park adjoining the property, and spectacular character of our custom log home make this property hard to beat. We think you will agree.

Beautiful setting, gorgeous place!

  • 5 of 5

The lodge itself is quite beautiful and set picturesquely along a quiet part of the Deshutes River. Perfect for a relaxing getaway! We will definitely go back!

Wonderful, Secluded Log Cabin

  • 5 of 5

This home is perfect for a relaxing getaway! We had a group of 11 woman (mid 20's) stay at the house on the Deschutes River for a weekend. The home was perfect for our needs. It was absolutely gorgeous, had amazing views of the river and was well equipped with everything you could possibly think of. The house was in immaculate shape and the owners were extremely helpful and kind, taking time to answer all of our questions and helping to meet our needs. I would highly recommend staying at this house if you are wanting to get away from the hustle and bustle and enjoy the outdoors and peace and quiet that Bend has to offer.

Wonderful Riverbend Lodge

  • 5 of 5

We had an amazing 4th of July weekend at this log home on the Deschutes River. We were a group of 4 younger couples (aged late 20s-early 30s) without children and we found the lodge provided everything we needed (comfortable beds, a gorgeous kitchen and dining area, a beautiful deck for watching the river, a barbecue, and any amenities we needed or had forgotten to bring!) It was peaceful, quiet and off the beaten track, which was exactly what we wanted. We even found a way to jump in the river for a quick (cold!) swim, although the bank was a bit marshy. We also enjoyed launching kayaks and inner tubes from La Pine State Recreation area/park (a few miles away), and floating down the river to arrive back at the house! It took about an hour and was beautiful. Newberry National Volcanic Monument was a short drive away and included amazing hiking, lakes, waterfalls and natural scenery. All in all, it was a perfect weekend away from the hustle and bustle of normal life.

A pleasant, peaceful Thanksgiving at the Cabin.

  • 5 of 5

The description of the cabin is very accurate and met our expectations exceedingly well! It was a great fit for our family of 12. The kids took over the downstairs, which was perfect for them and for the adults to have some quiet relaxation on the main floor while they played hard.

It was furnished very well, the owners thought of everything plus some! The kindness and regards they showed our family was a blessing and we felt well taken care of. They are very helpful and prompt to answer any questions. We are totally going back every year for our family reunion! It was the best Thanksgiving we ever had! Thank you! We look forward to doing this again.

RiverBend Lodge for our family Reunion was Amazing

  • 5 of 5

Our RiverBend Lodge family reunion made such a positive, enjoyable and relaxing experience for everyone. The short drive to explore the wonders of the Newberry National Volcanic Monument, the hiking trails and biking trails (out the front door) kept the kids happy while the artisan craftsmanship of this wonderful lodge kept the rest of us exceedingly satisfied. The kitchen had everything and the dining area exquisite. Our favorite activity was to sit in all of the chairs provided on the deck after dark and star gaze. Our family will defiantly be returning again.

Amazing!!

  • 5 of 5

The Riverbend Lodge was amazing! Our family just returned from a three night stay. The accommodations were perfect, beds very comfortable and the owners had it very well stocked with anything you may have forgotten. The silence of the area was fantastic. Having coffee on the deck in the morning, watching the eagles fly over head and chipmunks scurrying around was so peaceful.

It was such a pleasure to deal with the owners, they were very responsive to questions or concerns before hand, and quick to contact us after our stay.

Having rented many places through VRBO, we would have to say this was one of the best experiences we have had.

We look forward to a return visit in the future.
