Secluded garden bungalow in the jungle with air conditioning.

Trade winds blow through this tropical paradise. The ocean is an easy 10-15 minute walk. This recently remodeled home is surrounded by a tropical garden and is the perfect getaway. The house is situated on a one-acre lot that is fully landscaped. There are an uncountable variety of tropical trees, plants and fruits on this property. There is a comfortable fully covered lanai to spend your evenings watching the sunset after a day of exploring the island.
Our home is fully furnished and has everything you need to make your trip memorable. This is a one-bedroom home with a queen-sized bed that has a wonderful view of the morning sunrise. The kitchen has granite counters, dishwasher and is equipped for cooking at home. We provide all linens and towels. There is wireless internet access. The property is gated so it is private.
We do not use catchment water. We have our own private well to take care of all of your water needs.
The Jungalow's central location makes a great home base for short trips to Volcano National Park, the Hamakua Coast, Akaka Falls, Kahuna Falls, Rainbow Falls, Umauma Falls, Farmers’ Markets and a nearby Black Sand Beach. There are many great restaurants nearby in Pahoa and Hilo.

Very nice secluded stay. Even though it now has AC, we didn't need to use it, just open the windows and use the provided fans and the house is very comfortable. The coqui frogs definitely let their presence be known but that is pretty much everywhere on the big island. Did enjoy a couple of restaurants that Deb recommended (Merriman's in Wimea and Jacky Rey's in Hilo. Overall it was an excellent place and wouldn't hesitate to book again if our travels bring us back to the Hilo area again.

The house and the property were great. It was very well stocked and clean. The host was exceptionally responsive and helpful. We would rate it a 4.5 if that option was available. The only thing keeping it from a full 5 is the lack of A/C.

Absolutely amazing place! Secluded and private, but only a 20 minute drive away from nearby Hilo. Had everything I needed, and the wildlife is a pleausre to fall asleep to! Would definitely recommend!

Love the jungle

Love the jungle feel! The sounds of birds all day and frogs at night. You have all the privacy you want, but are still close to town for any needs and many attractions. Will definitely be coming back! We both said on our last day we didn’t want to leave.

Amazing and quiet location in Puna

The house was fantastic. Everything you need is stocked in the kitchen and bathroom. The grounds were amazing with fruit trees everywhere. The ice cream bean fruit was a special treat. Couldn’t ask for much more.

This property is gorgeous! Every step around it is a view of a different flower, plant or fruit tree. We love the lushness of this side of the island. We stayed 4 nights of our honeymoon here. The house was perfect for us. Very relaxing! Clean, comfortable and private.

A real getaway!

If you want a real retreat from your normal day to day, the Jungalow may be just the place for you. A roomy, well stocked bungalow - perfect for two. Surrounded by tropical jungle - complete with nature's symphony as 'background music' - this is an ideal getaway spot. I absolutely loved my stay here and am looking at a return trip! The house is extremely well stocked. It is quiet, secluded, grounds are beautiful! I enjoyed picking avacados right on the property. It is gated and safe. Bed is comfortable. It does get warm in August and no a/c which is common here. There are fans available. The nights cool off well. Host was available and responsive. I give the overall rating a 5 and look forward to a return stay! Mahalo

A True Paradise

We have visited the Hawaii area over the years and love the wild beauty of this Island! Finding this "Jungalow" has just added a true motivation to return (again and again). This beautiful bungalow sits on a gorgeous piece of manicured property. Our favorite memory is sitting on the lanai watching clouds, birds, sun, plants, rain (sometimes all in the same hour!)_. This VRBO is completely stocked, beautifully furnished and so comfortable! We highly recommend!

The house is exactly as pictured. Adorable house, Yard is beautiful. Loved having morning coffee and reading out on the deck. The house does get a little warm during the day if no breeze. Another week in Paradise's Jungalow

This is our second stay in this unique Jungalow on a beautiful piece of property.... it felt like "coming home" as we drove down the winding driveway. The home has incredible views of its own "rain forested jungle" with fruit trees, orchids, birds etc. I love cooking in their fully stocked kitchen and then leisurely reading on the lovely lanai. We spent each morning at The Cliffs for walks at dawn - just a few minutes away. Sightseeing in Hilo and the surrounding area is only 20 minutes away. We can't wait to return!
