About Troy Ritter

Hello, I'm Troy. Through my work as a senior military officer I've learned leadership, attention to detail and the importance of doing things right. I use those same qualities in managing Baxter Crest Vacation Home. My team and I aren't perfect, but we are certainly conscientious.

Managing a successful vacation home is a difficult job and I can’t do it alone. I share this responsibility with my 13 year old son, Cheaney, and my 10 year old daughter, Calie. They are partners in the business and frequently offer their suggestions. They even (sometimes reluctantly) pitch in the help keep the home in top condition.

Dawn will be your host extraordinaire and concierge. She has years of experience in the hospitality industry. Ensuring guests have an enjoyable stay is her full time job during the summer season. Need airport pick-up, the fridge stocked with your favorite items, a basket of the “world’s best” cookies, salmon fishing tips? Dawn has it covered!

Why Troy Ritter chose Anchorage

We know that travelers have many vacation homes to choose from in the Anchorage area. While we can't really say ours is the best (Would you believe us if we did?), we can say that every detail has been thoughtfully considered to ensure guests have the best vacation experience possible. We know that a trip to Alaska is the 'trip of a lifetime' for many people and we take that responsibility very seriously.

What makes this house unique

The home's central location is a key to its popularity. There are so many things to see and do in Alaska and you shouldn't have to choose. Using Baxter Crest as your base of operations, you can enjoy all the local shopping, restaurants and activities available within Anchorage and still be within an hour drive (or less) of world class salmon fishing at Bird Creek, gold panning in Hope, wildlife viewing at Potter Marsh, backwoods trekking at Mt. Baldy and some of the very best sightseeing in all of Alaska at Hatcher's Pass. Contact us for information on our favorite local hotspots and daytrips!

Five star home

  • 5 of 5

Wonderful accommodations. We had a great time with friends and family. We love to cook and all the amenities were just perfect. The neighborhood was quiet and easy access to everything. And Dawn the property manager was second to none. She was always available to help. We would recommend Baxter house to all our friends who want to experience the beauty of Alaska.

Exceptional customer service and beautifu well kept home!

  • 5 of 5

Highly recommend this gorgeous vacation rental! Troy and Dawn were great to work with and responded promptly to any inquiries we had. Home is in superb condition and extremely well kept! They provided a high chair, pack n play, and even had booster seats available for those traveling with little ones. Very quiet cul de sac location and 3 car garage. Gorgeous rock fire pit in back yard to enjoy. They even offered to stock the house with any items we would like prior to our arrival and would leave the receipts for us to repay them before our stay was over. Exceptional service and home!!! Highly recommend!

A Good Experience

  • 5 of 5

Expertly managed; in fact, this puts the experience over the top, in my opinion. In addition, it's a beautiful home with comfy beds in every room and solid showers with lots of hot water. Great linen service and many small considerations for the comfort of the guests.

Things to know: take soft slippers because there's a "no-shoes, please" request due to the hard wood floors. Also, there's no A/C, which seems funny to those of us from the lower 48, but is pretty normal in Alaska. We were there the hottest part of the year, mid-70's. There are several fans available. Lastly, the pictures make it look like the lake is immediately behind the house, but it is 15 minutes away--not bad at all.

The fire pit is great, as is the location in Anchorage. It's not a partying atmosphere--be respectful of the neighbors!

This home is highly recommended.

Great stay in Alaska and the house helped to make that possible

  • 5 of 5

The house was great. It exceeded our expectations. Dawn was there when we arrived - showed us around. She checked in with us during the week we were there. Everyone was surprised that we could rent for the week outside the normal "Sat to Sat" week.

The house was clean. The beds were very comfortable. There was enough room for all of us to move around. The outside of the house was very well maintained It was fully equipped with everything a traveler would need.

We traveled from Pittsburgh Pennsylvania. I would highly recommend this property to anyone.

Thanks for helping to make our visit to Alaska such a memorable one.
