Built in 2002, Kai Lani is a quiet gated community with a lush tropical landscape. It is located in Ko Olina, a 640 acre ocean-front resort on West Oahu, the dry leeward side of the island (averages 53 days of rain). The name 'Place of Joy' aptly describes the puffy-cloud, blue-sky days, palm trees kissed by the sun, and the aloha spirit. In 2011, Disney opened the doors of its Aulani Hotel. The Four Seasons Resort Oahu has followed suit and is slated to take over the JW Marriott Ihilani in December of 2015.

All the luxuries of an upscale ocean property await our guests. The nine-foot ceilings and open concept of our 1320 square foot condo create a feeling of spaciousness. We have 3 bedrooms: one king bed, one queen bed, and two twin beds that can be converted to a king if requested. Ceiling fans cool each bedroom and the living area, though some guests prefer to run the air conditioning on balmy days. Our condo features two bathrooms: a master bath with walk-in shower and a guest bath with tub-shower combination. This clean, comfortable unit is furnished in a tropical coastal style, boasting a fully-stocked kitchen. Barbecue on the gas grill at the community pool and take a refreshing dip in the heated pool located a few minutes from our door. Follow up with a soak in the adjacent hot tub. Swim with the turtles at the Paradise Cove beach, only two blocks away. View the spectacular sunset at Milo Cove, a secluded beach only a three-minute walk from our lanai. Spot an occasional Hawaiian monk seal or gentle sea turtle that has decided to sun itself on the rocks. Life doesn't get any better than this!

Interested in a day trip? Drive to the North Shore to watch the surfers ride the waves. Stop for lunch at a local shrimp farm for fresh mouth-watering shrimp. Located less than a mile from H1, our convenient location provides easy access to the airport, Honolulu, or the Waianae coast. Enjoy the best Oahu has to offer and return to relax in a place of joy, our condo in Ko Olina.

About Vicki Cobb

My husband and I are both retired, having lived and worked in the Chicago area our entire lives. An electrical contractor, he owned and ran a small business, while I taught English to high school students. We also dabbled in buying rental properties. As for recreation, he loves to hunt and I love to photograph. We keep busy with our family: two daughters, two sons, and nine grandchildren from toddler to teen.

Why Vicki Cobb chose West Oahu

We had vacationed in Ko Olina as timeshare owners for over 10 years. Our timeshares treated us well during January and early February, providing us a 6-week reprieve from below zero temperatures, ice, and snow. As owners we were treated like royalty at Marriott Ko Olina Beach Club. We enjoyed the beautiful grounds, the lush swimming pools, amazing lagoons, and the 3-mile path along the ocean. We fell so in love with the area that we set out to purchase a condo in Ko Olina.

We decided on Kai Lani Estates, the only low-density Ko Olina condos with ocean views. In 2011 Ko Olina was a seller's market, so we made an offer on this property based on photographs provided by our realtor. Having owned and rehabbed properties in the Midwest, we were not new to real estate investments. But this purchase took a leap of faith, a risk that neither of us have regretted. In fact, my husband threatens to tie himself to a palm tree when it's time to fly back to the mainland! Our grandchildren have fallen in love too. They especially enjoy spending the day at the best swimming beach in Ko Olina, the beach at Paradise Cove, known as Turtle Beach. Every day, gentle lumbering turtles swim there. We love to share our Place of Joy with friends and family.

What makes this townhome unique

I have dreamed of a waterfront view. While working, we had purchased rental properties in New Buffalo, Michigan, but property on Lake Michigan was beyond our reach. A cozy cottage next to a stream and a block from the marina was the closest we came. Kai Lani has satisfied a life-long dream for me. As a former boater and fisherman, my husband has loved the water too. The ocean restores us.

Beautiful condo in paradise

We had visited Kai Lani in 2014 and knew we wanted to come back. This time we needed a 3 bedroom condo that would sleep 7 and Vicki was very willing to work with us. We made so many wonderful memories.

The condo is very clean and has everything you need. We enjoyed the lagoons and the restaurants. Our

favorite beach was at Paradise Cove where we snorkeled with turtles and even had a monk seal swim in to lie on the beach in the sun. At sunset we would walk to the small beach in front of the condo and enjoy

the view.

This is truly a piece of paradise and the condo will not disappoint you. Short drive to attractions and a beautiful place to call home. We have told our friends and would definitely stay here again.

Vicki is a very special lady and does everything to make your stay amazing.

Perfect condo. Perfect host. Everything exactly as described.

We chose this first floor condo because we were traveling with our senior citizen parents and wanted everything to be perfect for them. We are glad we did!

The condo is fully equipped for a carefree stay on Oahu. The kitchen has everything you'll need. We cooked dinner there almost every night because the sunset view from the condo is better than any you'll find anywhere else. The unit has central air conditioning which was important to us since we were visiting in August. (Despite what others may say, yes it does get HOT in Hawaii!)

The location and view is exactly as shown in the photos. It is just far enough away from Honolulu to avoid the traffic and congestion of the city, but it is very close to groceries, stores, restaurants, etc. With a rental car, you can easily visit all parts of the island from this location. The condo complex is quiet, private and very well maintained.

The host, Vicki, is excellent. She is detail oriented, honest and very concerned with providing a perfect experience for her guests. She is very responsive, friendly and easy to work with.

One final note. We rent our own homes as vacation rentals and travel extensively, staying almost exclusively in other vacation rentals. This was one of the best that we have experienced and we will definitely stay here again when we plan future visits to Oahu. Mahalo!

The Kindest Host!

I have rented Ms. Vicki's home on two separate occasions and she was nothing but a delight to work with. The home is in a beautiful location and provides all the comforts of home. Truly a magnificent place to stay and i would highly recommend this property to anyone.

Our stay was amazing.

To describe our stay at Kai Lani in words is so difficult, because it was so amazingly beautiful. The sunsets were the best I have seen. I was lucky enough to capture most of the sunsets on my camera and have some beautiful shots that could not have been captured anywhere else. To be able to give my mom this gift of staying at Kai Lani was the best. She appreciated the views the most.

If you are looking for the best place to stay this would be it! The condo was in perfect condition. It was a spacious 3 bedroom condo with everything you needed to prepare meals, take showers or baths with plenty of storage. I would recommend renting from Vicki. She was great to work with and is very caring.

Great View!

We have stayed at Ko Olina many times over the years. As always, we were not disappointed. I love the fact that you can walk to the lagoons. I love that Target is a 5 minute drive down the street. I love grilling by the pool in the evenings. BUT most of all I love sitting on the porch staring out at the ocean! It is so relaxing. The condo itself is very comfortable and has most the things you will need to feel at home. I would definitely stay here again.
