We really enjoyed our stay at this beautiful place with the million dollar view! Watching the gorgeous sunset from the balcony was just wonderful! The property is well maintained, the family is so kind, and the apartment is very nice. We would stay here again for sure!!
The Cinque Terre trail runs right through the backyard, making it very convenient. It is a 15 minute trail walk from the house to Volastra where you can catch the bus to go into Manarola, which is the closest town.
In Manarola, you can access the regional train system to take you to each of the towns. I would recommend getting a Cinque Terre day pass card (14 euros each) if you plan to spend time going from town to town. Otherwise, it is 4 euros each time you get on the train. The pass is well worth the money and you get to see all of the towns. Of course, you can also walk all or some of the trails, which we did. It is important to note that the day pass card is only good for the day that you purchased it (not for a 24 hour period).
Since there is a 15 minute walk on the trail to get to the house after you get off the bus, it is important to make sure you head back in daylight otherwise you would be walking on the trails in the dark, which we didn't want to try. We took a taxi twice from Manarola to the house when we got back after dark. The cost was 25 euros one way (there were four of us, not sure if the number of people matters). Our driver was wonderful!
This is a great place to stay!
