Good people!

We were scheduled to stay here the week that Hurricane Harvey hit. At the last minute we asked if we could reschedule because we live in the path of the storm, and were concerned about traveling. They let us reschedule because of the unusual circumstances even though they didn't have to according to the agreement. We are so grateful that they did this for us!

Rural getaway from it all

  • 5 of 5

We enjoyed our stay. It was my husband, me and our two dogs. We stayed in the Hillside Cabin. Hosts were very hospitable and friendly. The weather was hot so we stayed indoors most of the weekend. Great area for a family for kids. Would highly recommend. There is a short walk to the river. The hosts are very welcoming you have unlimited options - drive up the hill to the hill top and see the overlook and or long horns they have or walk down to the donkeys chickens and river. We enjoyed our short getaway.

Cute, remote, tiny cabin

  • 5 of 5

The cabin was as described, fully equipped and remote. I'm glad my buddy had to work and couldn't make it though, the cabin was cramped with 2 dogs and my self. We were indoors a lot due to the rain and it was snug.

Quaint & Cozy

Stan was super nice and the property was gorgeous! The cabin was cute and just as described. We plan to come back, likely in the fall or more winter weather.

Cozy, Well maintained, Good AC.

  • 4 of 5

Cabin and porch are in good shape. It is pet friendly. Our dog loved it. There is a large water bowl on the porch for a pet. The tap water tastes fine. It is about a three or four minute walk down to the river. There is a cute playhouse on the way down to the river which might have a small loft. It is not usable, because it's in a state of ill repair. If you bring detergent, you can use the stacked washer and dryer. The gravel road that goes to the Hilltop Cabin runs about nine feet in front of the porch. I was surprised at the number of vehicles going up and down the road. Three chairs are around the table. Seating four would require pulling the table away from the wall and pulling up another chair from another part of the room. Then you would need to reverse the process after the meal due to the lack of space. The kitchen is well stocked.

Overall good experience, was hoping to do more swimming. Access to river is not great and was very low. Great people, recommend for private , cozy getaway.
