3 bedroom, 3 bathroom family friendly house with stunning sea views
- english, german
Hi there! My parents, Roger and Silvia have had the pleasure of letting out Trevilley for almost 15 years. We love the peace and tranquility and the fabulous views - our repeat visitors think so too! It is also a very special place for our 3 children who visit regularly and who have helped us make sure that it is well equipped for young families (see photo of them all devouring their daily chocolate ice-cream from Jessie's Dairy). It is certainly the place for magical childhood holiday memories and we hope that you love it as much as we do.
Becca purchased this House in 1999

Fantastic house in an amazing location
This is a great place to come and unwind. The views are lovely and the spaces are set out so that you can all be together or you can all find somewhere that you are by yourself. The kitchen is well stocked. The beds are comfortable. The host is really quick to respond and always helpful.
What a comfortable and amazing house! Everything was spotlessly clean, the bed was very comfortable, and there were plenty of towels and supplies. We were there in September and had no trouble parking right on the road above the house. The view is truly spectacular. We had a wonderful experience in Cornwall and the house played a big part.
Beautiful house and fabulous location
We loved the house, it was absolutely beautifully designed and decorated inside (it's obvious that the owners are artists!) and the views from two of the bedrooms, the downstairs conservatory and the garden are unrivalled. Top quality furnishings, bedlinen etc made our stay very enjoyable. Becca and Deborah were extremely helpful and easy to deal with. Mousehole is charming but it's a good job you can walk into the centre from the house as driving round its narrow streets and parking are extremely difficult (admittedly we were there in the peak holiday period).
Fabulous house, location and owners, highly recommend
We have stayed at Trevilly a number of times over the years, and have always had a fabulous time. The house itself is stunning, with panoramic and mesmerising views across St Mounts Bay and the Lizard Peninsular from the conservatory, garden, garden house and bedrooms.
The house is very spacious, easily large enough to fit us all in comfortably, a family of six with 4 children under the ages of 10, with room to spare and is very family friendly, so we didn't have to worry about the children doing what they normally do. The property is well equipped for a family, which made the stay very easy.
The property is a 2 minute walk down to Mousehole village, harbour and beach. The children loved the Mousehole beach, which is small but actually more child friendly than the larger nearby beaches of Sennen and Portcurno, as you can keep your eyes on them, the water is calm, the sand is golden, and they made lots of friends. Mousehole village is lovely, and a number of pretty shops for the children to spend their pocket money. Aldi is a 5 minute drive away as its the Mousehole end of Penzance, and Sainsburys, Tesco and Morrisons are no more than a 15 minutes' drive. We had day trips to St Ives, Kynance Cove, Sennen and Penzance, all of which were gorgeous.
The owners were a delight to deal with, information clear and straightforward, and Deborah (the housekeeper) was a gem.
A thoroughly amazing property and we'd highly recommend.
Wonderful light airy house with spectacular views
What an amazing house! The photos don't quite do justice to the immensity of those views. We were holidaying with a 1 and 3 year old - so we were totally exhausted but every time we looked out at the sea we felt refreshed and rested!
The bedrooms are beautiful (more views) and beds very comfy. Our boys loved the toys and books beside the bunkbed. The wooden floors and white walls feel clean and fresh. The kitchen has enough space and equipment for most of your cooking needs (next year I'll bring a loaf tin and maybe a knife sharpener!) and there's a good size fridge.
Great spaces for eating and enjoying the views as a family. We rented the summer house for my sister and she loved having privacy, a wine fridge and her own terrace. There are also lots of seats in the beautiful garden.
Mousehole harbour is 3 minutes away through a gate at the bottom of the garden. The farmers market on Monday had some good food (chard, fresh bread, samosas, artisan chocolate) and the harbour is perfect for building sandcastles, watching boats (we went out with Mike Collins - see the posters in the village) and eating ice lollies from the Deli.
Parking is sometimes a challenge but was never impossible. The hills and narrow roads meant we didn't use our pushchair once - sling much more useful! The coastal path (off road) is just up the hill - good for morning walks/runs. Our favourite beaches were Porthcurno and Sennen.
Deborah was very helpful when we needed some more bedding and communication with Becca was great throughout.
Thank you for a brilliant holiday! We'll be back :-)
Genuinely delighted by this house
We booked a holiday in Mousehole for a wide range of ages from 75 years down to 18. There were 6 of us in total and I was a bit nervous about feeling disappointed upon arrival as this is what usually happens (maybe I’m just fussy but it often seems that properties aren’t quite what they seem from the photos...). However I couldn’t have been more delighted upon arrival - we were lucky that the weather was glorious but the incredible view from Trevilley would be thrilling in any weather, and the welcoming note and essentials (i.e. Prosecco!) left in the fridge by Deborah the housekeeper were a really nice touch. She couldn’t have been friendlier or more helpful. Everything is decorated in a bright, fresh but homely way and the accommodation layout with the outside chalet worked brilliantly for our teenage son. The outside seating area is great for eating together and watching the boats sail by and the binoculars provided meant we could see seals on the island most days. It really was a wonderful base for a great family holiday as it takes only a couple of minutes to walk down into the village to visit the pub or look at the lovely shops. We also took a trip out with Mike who runs Cormorant Cruises and this was a real highlight - his knowledge of the area gave a great insight into the local history. We will definitely be staying again!
There are many beautiful beaches in the vicinity. Porthcurno is the location of the open air theatre "the Minack" which looks out over the bay and is a must see during the summer months (there are also matinee children's performances). Sennen is ideal for children with it's shallow, crystal clear waters. The surf at Sennen is pretty good too. Marazion is worth a visit - at low tide the causeway opens and St Michael's Mount becomes accessible by foot. If the tides are not in your favour, regular boat crossings will take you to the Mount (a National Trust property). A good children's playground and plenty of parking, make this an ideal day out for families. Kynance Cove is one of the most interesting and visually beautiful beaches in Cornwall. It's a child's paradise at low tide with caves, rock pools and plenty of sand for digging in but note that the beach is only accessible by foot from the car park and takes about 10 minutes to reach the beach.
There are also plenty of stunning scenic walks which are easily accessible from Mousehole (the South Coast path goes straight past the front door). We have provided Ordnance Survey maps and walking books to help you on your way.
