About Phay MacDowel
Mousehole Cottage was built by husband and wife team - Stylish Cornish Cottages. The cottage was built in 2008 and is finished to a high standard and comfortably appointed throughout. Stylish Cornish Cottages lovingly manage a small number of properties in West Cornwall, we own Mousehole Cottage so know the property inside out if you have any questions. We live in the area so can give you lots of locals advice and book any trips or experiences you might wish to participate in whilst on holiday in this wonderful part of Cornwall. Nothing is ever too much trouble when it comes to your holiday!
Why Phay MacDowel chose Mousehole
Built to a high standard it benefits from wonderful sea views, private parking which is rare in Mousehole and a lovely private garden. The cottage is located on the edge of the historic harbour, a stones throw from the harbour itself with its winding narrow lanes, net lofts, galleries and cafes. The location is beneficial as driving into Mousehole can be tricky in the summer, you have the benefit of parking at the cottage pottering around the village, but if you wish to explore further afield you can get out of Mousehole quickly and easily in your car. A car is not essential, Penzance mainline station is 3 miles away and buses run regularly from Penzance to Mousehole.

Relaxing break in superb cottage
Lovely break in a beautifully converted traditional Cornish cottage. Welcomed with freshly baked scones, jam & clotted cream with a bottle of wine. Even the dog was left tasty biscuits & her own towel. Mousehole itself is quaint with countless cafes and art galleries but no traditional shops other than a post office selling a few groceries. Very regular bus service to local towns with the bus stop right outside the cottage . The parking space was a god send and also fantastic that did not need to drive through the narrow congested streets going through Mousehole. Good amenities, shops & beaches within a short driving distance. Trip to the Minack theatre was unmissable.
Great location and great cottage. No drawbacks at all :)
The cottage is clean and charming and perfectly situated. We couldn’t have hoped for better. It is a few minutes downhill walk to Mousehole harbor and a few more minutes uphill walk back!
We loved Mousehole and found staying at Mousehole Cottage ideal. Not only was the house extremely comfortable and well equipped we were very impressed by Phay’s responsiveness to any questions we may have had.
(Additionally we were traveling with some elderly people with their own needs and issues and Phay was both understanding and helpful.)
Mousehole is a good spot for branching our for day trips too, with Porthcurno and St Michaels amount a very short distance away. Parking can be an issue in Mousehole and we found the parking space allocated with Mousehole Cottage to be invaluable.
In short, if you are hesitant about staying here, don’t be.. I highly recommend it!

We had a wonderful week away in this very well appointed and perfectly located cottage. We loved being able to be in the centre of Mousehole with under 1 minutes walk using the pathway from the house. Very comfortable beds, great powerful shower and brilliantly equipped kitchen. Thank you!
