2BR/1BA Circa 1879 Cottage in Landmark Historic District of Downtown Savannah

This renovated historic cottage has a King bedroom (with its own TV), a Queen bedroom and a small Living room & dining room + kitchen with gorgeous granite countertop.

Located on 'the prettiest street in town', Jones Street which is central to the many tourist attractions of the Landmark Historic District and walkable to everything. The northern boundary of the Historic District (River Street) is half a mile away heading north. The southern end of the Historic district (Forsyth Park) is half a mile away heading south.

A King bedroom and a Queen bedroom are side by side. French doors with heavy privacy curtains on both sides of the glass separate the bedrooms. Families can open the curtains & doors to adjoin the rooms if desired.

The newly renovated bathroom is located off the kitchen for equal access to both bedrooms. A pullout sofa is in the Living Room. Full size washer and dryer. This authentic historic railroad worker cottage is beautifully updated and preserved for the comfort of modern day guests.

Newly launched in 2015, this unit is on the same block of Jones Street as our very popular VRBO 345323, with the same on-street free parking.

Parking is on-street and does not require a permit or decal (public parking is free here) as this street is not metered. Rear yard is shared with 2 tiny studio cottages.

Why Mary Anderson chose Savannah

I chose Savannah because of the big city feel of the events and tourist traffic combined with a small town sense of knowing people everywhere I go and the relatively tiny one-square mile walkable downtown Historic District area. I love the familiarity of everything combined with the constant influx of new energy from the college and the visitors from all over the world.

What makes this house unique

This historic railroad worker cottage compound is located on a block of Jones Street where I lived for several years. Tourists and residents alike are drawn to the adorable cottages of downtown Savannah, many of which were built to house the working men who constructed this amazing city.

Great cozy bungalow in Savannah

We had a great stay in Savannah. The bungalow was in a nice and safe neighborhood. We had a girls reunion and gathered for the weekend. The home has a nice courtyard in the back that shared with the other bungalow from the other side. We met the other guests and had fun conversations around the table and chairs.

We walked to various restaurants, sites and the river area of Savannah. The street is picturesque with big trees, old historic buildings.

The home had all we needed, nice sheets/pillows/blankets. The kitchen was nice and convenient for our needs. The bathroom was roomy and beds were comfortable.

The wifi worked great. We would recommend to any of our friends and family.

Mary was easy to contact and responded immediately.

We used uber for any taxi needs. You do not need a car to stay here. It is easy to get around.

Beautiful home in a fabulous location!

This is a charming home, on a historic street that offers an authentic experience in the heart of Savannah. Even with 2 kids (ages 2 and under) in tow, our stay was easy, hassle free and it felt very safe. Thank you.

Amazing cottage

My daughter and I stayed at Mary's rental at the end of August. The cottage is a beautiful two bedroom cottage on a lovely quiet street. The description and pictures are accurate, but it is so much prettier in person. It was easy to communicate with Mary, parking was easy, and the cottage was both well appointed and very clean. It was easy walking to all the areas we visited. The beds are very comfortable. Make sure to read through all the information on the mantle for ideas - Savannah runs a fare free bus that stops not far from the cottage! We would highly recommend Mary's cottage. (And thank you for mailing my daughter's dress!) E

A beautiful home in a historical area!

Let me start off by saying that the description of the house is modest. While on the Old Savannah Tour I learned that the house is located on what was voted the most beautiful street in all of America by Southern Living Magazine!

The home and immediate area are well kept. If your the athletic type and don't mind walking, you can walk the full historical area. I rented a car to go out to Tybee Island and to visit other outlying areas. If your driving be sure to read the signs because I am returning home with a $25 ticket.

Perfect!

This cute cottage was absolutely charming inside! We stayed in the cottage for a long weekend and found it an easy walk to downtown. The cottage itself had plenty of room for four of us - it was clean and cozy inside. I would highly recommend this place for a stay in Savannah.
