There is a limit of 3 vehicles unless otherwise approved.
Enjoy your stay at beautiful Canyon Lake!
What a nice rental! The house was clean and had a well-stocked kitchen, plenty of toiletries, and linens/towels. And the WI-FI is EXCELLENT!!
We enjoyed the deer each morning, and the peace and quiet of the location. I highly recommend this property for those who like seclusion and peaceful surroundings!
Nice, clean home that worked out great for our group. Enjoyed getting our boat out on the lake and seeing our family in New Branfels. Would consider booking the same home next year too.
We really enjoyed our stay at Canyon Lake Hideaway. This was our second year to get out of the city and enjoy this home. Couldn't believe all the deer in the area, the walked right up to the home and the kids loved it... we even bought some deer corn on our second day there and fed them off the porch. We benefited from relaxing on the porch in the cool fall weather after a long, hot summer. We didn't swim of course, but rented a nice boat from the marina (maybe 3-4 miles away), and never miss a chance to walk across the top of Canyon Lake Dam and see the sunset. At the suggestion of Skyrun (the management), we visited the Gennaros italian food restaurant at Canyon Lake and also made the drive into Gruene Historic District and went to Gruene River Grill. Both were excellent recommendations and helped make the trip an overwhelming success! The home was nice and clean and had cable, WIFI, and all the supplies you'd normally expect. Thank you again to the owners and Skyrun for opening up this home and peaceful property to us.
The below comments I sent to Skyrun Texas Hill Country Reservations;
Over all we had a good time but I must be honest. There were some issues. I don't mean to sound too negative, and maybe some of these issues seem trivial to you, but to us it was a problem.
First of all I felt the pictures on your web site were deceiving. I expected to see a more elegant home and the front of the house with the nice deck. I at first thought I was at the wrong house. Then there was an abandoned pick up truck in the back yard. Hardly a scenic vacation view. In all honesty I thought maybe it was involved in a murder and dropped there. Maybe I watch too much "Forensic Files" but I did approach the truck thinking I might find a dead body in it. Surely there must be some place else they can park it at.
We thought the house was dirty. After arriving and putting away our food the first thing my wife did was break out the vacuum cleaner and get the dog hair off the carpets. When the sun would come through the windows in the morning it was obvious they were "cleaned " with a dirty rag and the fridge looked the same.
The frying pans were bad and we went out and bought our own and my daughter took them with her when we left.
The shower mixer valves were set to just barely a lukewarm mixture. We dreaded taking a shower but it was all we had. Also there was only one towel per person. So we went out and bought more towels.
Other houses we rented had big bureaus in the bedrooms with TV's. Our rooms had small end table type bureaus which was OK I guess but we preferred a big one. The big thing was no TV in the rooms. Sometimes it's nice to get away from the company and settle in to your bed and watch a good western, which we couldn't do.
My daughter and son in laws bed had some plastic on the mattress which made a loud noise every time they rolled over, and they were no clocks or chairs in the bedrooms.
The bathrooms had little storage space for out toiletries.
My apologies if this sounds negative but we have rented much better places.
This is the second time we have dealt with a management group and a red flag should have gone up as we had problems the last time we dealt with a management group in NM.
Wanted to get the family out of town to the lake before it got too cold. The house was perfect. It's on Potter's Creek and about a one minute drive to Potter's creek Park. The house has three bedrooms. The wife and I stayed in the master (king bed) and the older boy stayed in another room (queen I think). Then 2 of our kids and 2 of their friends stayed in a bunk room (each kid had their own bed - no fighting :).
The driveway is a bit narrow if you have a boat but you could park it on the road or just go back up the driveway and turn it around. Love the seclusion of the porch. Kitchen was good, wifi strong and living room was comfortable.
We've rented several houses on Homeaway. This house has potential. It's a great weekend house; if you want a prolonged stay it has several issues:
The kitchen is not stocked. The fridge had nothing in it. The majority of houses I've rented had condiments and basic food items. I.e. Ketchup, mustard, mayo, etc.
The cabinets are lacking- I had to go to the store and buy pots, pans, and mixing bowls because it was impossible to cook for anyone. There are also several utensils lacking as well.
This house does not sleep 8 people!! We had 4 adults and 2 kids and the conditions were cramped.
The house was not cleaned well when we arrived. There was dog hair all over the kitchen rug, the shower curtain was full of mildew... whoever is in charge of cleaning doesn't do well.
The bathrooms do not have counter space. Be prepared to live out of your suitcase. The pedestal sinks do not allow any room to put ANYTHING.
The bedrooms have no dressers. It's impossible to unpack anything.
As an extra, it would be nice to have extra tvs in the bedrooms.
