Wonderful Quiet Country Cabin

  • 5 of 5

We love the Lakes Basin area and have stayed at a number of cabins, none of which was quite right. This year, we tried the Cromberg Cabin and it was ideal. Super-quiet and set off the road by itself. The owners, Jim and Jodie, really thought of everything guests might need -- including toothpicks! Very spacious and comfortable. Close to Graegle and the gorgeous lakes and wonderful hiking in the Lakes Basin Recreation Area. I'm often disappointed when vacation rentals don't live up to the hype. The Cromberg Cabin was the rare find, where the cabin in reality was much nicer than the description.

Perfect Little Cabin

  • 5 of 5

This was a perfect little cabin for my family's long-weekend vacation. My husband and I brought our 17 month-old son to explore this area only a few hours from home. The cabin was spacious and had everything we needed. The kitchen was spotless and the amenities were in great condition. The owners have gone above and beyond to make sure this place feels like a home away from home. Jodie was very quick to respond to any questions I had. The cabin is secluded off the main road, and is very close to the cute town of Graeagle where we dined, had coffee and ice cream, had amazing take-out pizza from an Italian restaurant, and went canoeing. We explored Lassen National Park as well as the Lakes Basin area while staying there, beautiful!! The plus was that the big meteor shower was happening while we were there, talk about zero city lights in order to fully enjoy the show! Thank you Jim and Jodie, we had an amazing time, and would highly recommend your place!

Better than it looks in listing

  • 5 of 5

Our party consisted of two dogs and their retired owners. The cabin seems a little larger than it appears in the photos. The water tasted fine, and hot water was plentiful and prompt. TV and internet were flawless (no DVD or DVR, but it's a cabin...). Kitchen was spotless, utilities worked fine, some condiments were available. Propane fireplace/stove worked very well, and in addition to basebord heaters was perfect. It was very chilly so we did not spend hours outdoors, but when we were we listened to the sound of the river nearby (not on property) and enjoyed the birds and the many flowers. Very good stay, very dog friendly (has a chain link kennel, not a fenced yard). Excellent little but comprehensive store in Graeagle and multiple restaurants within ten miles on good roads.

5/5.
