Romantic Roman Retreat

This place is incredible!!! The neighborhood is lively and fun, and the quiet rooftop was the perfect ending to a day of exploring. Giuseppe was a wonderful host, and we can't wait to return!

Great apartment

  • 5 of 5

Stunning apartment just far enough away so you don't hear the noise from the numerous bars & restaurants. Great roof terrace with views over Rome, reached by a slow lift, so don't forget anything. Paolo met us & was very accommodating. Giuseppe very kindly booked us transport from the airport which saved the stress of having to find a taxi. He also supplied a welcome bottle of prosecco (thanks). The apartment is very tidy & well presented with a large bedroom which includes a small kitchen with all the essentials. Off the bedroom is a large bathroom with powerful shower. Did I mention the roof terrace has a hot tub? & a sauna? Fantastic. We managed the walk to the colosseum in about 25 mins & the same to the Vatican. With walking you see so many great sites along the way. Nearby there are too many bars & restaurants to list, all of which seem to do great food. I Highly recommend is apartment & will hopefully return next year. Many thanks to Giuseppe & Paolo for your hospitality.

Paradise in the most charming neighborhood in Rome

  • 5 of 5

On my 7th visit to Rome, I discovered paradise in Trastevere. This incredible penthouse, four flights up, is comprised of the top floor of the building with a lift to the private rooftop terrace. The living quarters have a spacious bedroom with a queen-sized bed. The bedroom has two floor to ceiling windows and ample storage space. The bedroom also has a small and functional kitchenette that met all of our needs. There's also a huge shower/ bathroom combination. About 6 feet across the hall is a small sitting room with the second flat screen tv ( did I mention that they have Netflix? ). Access to the lift to the rooftop is from the sitting room. A quick ride up to the roof reveals stunning 280 degree views of Rome. You can see Saint Peter's and the Victor Emanuel monument. The Giancolo hill is clearly visible, too. The terrace is completely landscaped which provides complete privacy for the a hot tub and indoor sauna, indoor and outdoor showers, and bathroom. There's 2 lounge chairs for sun bathing, a table and chairs, sink, and stovetop. We were in the hot tub every evening and sipped wine and ate dinner on the terrance many nights. The location is ideal because the flat is on a tiny street so there is little traffic and there's no noise except the idyllic ringing of church bells. However, this tiny alley is within 5 minutes walk of the the hub of Trastevere - - a bustling & hip neighborhood of Rome. There are literally hundreds of shops, restaurants and bars within walking distance PLUS the tram is an 7 minute walk away. The Tiber river is also 5 minutes away. Not only are the accommodations spectacular, but the service is great, too. Let Guiseppe or Eric arrange rides to and from the airport because they have a car service ( $48 euro one way) that is familiar with the winding roads in Trastevere and the tiny streets that can't accommodate super large vehicles. Giuseppe, Eric, and Guilia provided 5-star service. We needed an ironing board and iron and Giuseppe produced one within minutes. This guy is a magician. If you need it, he'll make it happen. Giuseppe also checked the rooftop and hot tub every other day to make sure everything was in tip top working order. We can't wait to visit next year. Helpful hints: 1) pack light because there's no lift to the 4th floor. 2) Pack a super absorbent, quick dry swim towel if you plan to use the hot tub a lot. 3) try Da Enzo for a super & well priced meal with the freshest ingredients. We LOVED this flat!

Beautiful apartment on a quiet street in Trastevere

  • 5 of 5

This was a lovely apartment with a new bathroom and it's own rooftop oasis. The entrance to the building is lovely, and the the large, nicely decorated bedroom is much bigger than you would find in a Rome hotel at a much higher price. The bedroom has a small but fully stocked modern kitchenette, and the the bathroom is small but brand new with good lighting. There is also additional small sitting area with a fold out couch on the same floor. There is access to the rooftop via a private elevator; the rooftop has a table, lounge chairs, a hot tub, and sauna. We sat out on the rooftop each evening just enjoying the view. The location of the apartment is perfect; close to everything but far enough away from the really busy streets in Trastevere. Finally, the apartment is air-conditioned, which turned out to be essential since there was a heat wave in Rome while we were there. Guiseppe was wonderful about keeping in touch and was there to meet us when we arrived. The apartment is up three or four flights of stairs, however, so if you have mobility issues that could be a problem.

A little slice of heaven in a Trastevere penthouse

  • 5 of 5

Thank you, Guiseppe for such wonderful experience in Trastevere. We loved coming back to the apartment after a fabulous day of seeing the sights, taking a drink up to the terrace and soaking in our private hot tub. The rooms were well appointed but could have provided a bit more storage. The evenings were quiet for sleeping and the king sized bed was very comfortable. Although we didn't watch much TV we appreciated the flat screens with Netfix etc.

We really enjoyed wandering the narrow streets in the neighborhood after dinner and not being completely surrounded by other tourists all the time. Our favorite pasta of the trip was served by Monica at Mr. Clood. Thanks for the recommendation.

Again, well done and we'll recommend your place to any and all who are traveling to Rome. Renee and Pat B.
