This charming cottage in South Beach features ocean views, a pet-friendly attitude, and all the comforts of home!
Located about five miles south of Newport, in South Beach, this home is close to the ocean so you can hear the waves crashing on the shore and hear the gulls. The easiest beach access is about two miles south at Ona Beach State Park, which also has parking, picnic areas, a boat launch on the creek. If you feel like heading into the city, Newport is less than 10 minutes up the road, and Lincoln City is a scenic 35-minute drive north.
This one-bedroom, one-bathroom home is well-suited for two visitors, though it can accommodate up to three as long as one person is willing to sleep on a sofa. The living room is a cozy space, complete with a wood-burning fireplace, TV with cable and DVD player, a shelf of books, and a sliding glass door that allows great views of the sea. There's even a turntable and a selection of records! A retro kitchen may look compact, but it has all the necessities. This home even has a laundry area, which will come in handy after a few days of playing on the beach.
Down the hallway is a full bathroom with an old-fashioned bathtub and shower. The bedroom features a warm and cozy full-size bed and another sliding glass door that leads out to the deck, where you can sit and breathe in the fresh sea air. You're even welcome to bring one dog with you, though please note that a nightly pet fee will apply.
This home is an ideal size for two guests, so bring your sweetheart, a friend, or a close family member for a great beach getaway (or treat yourself to a solo vacation)! With so much to do in Newport, including the famous Oregon Coast Aquarium, antique shops, beach access, numerous fantastic restaurants, and much more, you won't have trouble finding ways to stay busy here.
Come stay at this ultra-cozy oceanview cottage and enjoy a much-deserved coastal vacation!
Thanks for considering a Vacasa home! We provide full-service management for privately owned vacation homes, and like to think that we offer our guests the best of both worlds: the unique experience of staying in a one-of-a-kind vacation home, with the peace of mind that comes from knowing that the home you book for your special vacation is cared for by professional housekeepers and property managers.
Vacasa began in 2009, simply because our founder and CEO Eric wanted to find a better way to share his wife’s family’s summer home in Long Beach, Washington with guests as a vacation rental. Eric and his early team worked to build Vacasa on the premise that local employees can do what they love most (taking care of guests, homeowners, and properties), while the hands-off tasks of vacation rental management—things like marketing, filing taxes, and maintaining a website—could be handled by a specialized central support team.
Our passion is connecting travelers with the unique experience of staying in a vacation home, and we would be honored to be your host. Please contact us with any questions about this home—our team is standing by!
I absolutely loved this cottage! It was perfect, just the right size and loved the fireplace and records. This has beach access down a path and great views even though you are not ocean front. It's also very close to Newport. I would definitely stay here again.
This cottage is really special with its homey n warmth feeling . We were truly lucky n blessed to find this place and took home some very amazing memories. Can't wait to come back again.
Easy to find and a cute cottage to stay for a few friends on a girls weekend. Reasonable rates too!
This was a very clean, cozy cottage perfect for a little get away. Quiet neighborhood and private, safe feeling. Nice view of the ocean from the sliding glass doors. Unfortunately, the stairs for the beach access have washed away, leaving a very tall cliff and the beach inaccessible. We did enjoy the old town waterfront and Nye beach. I would recommend bringing your own pillows, the ones at the house are flat. I would stay here again, and recommend this to friends. A good lunch burger is at 'Ocean Bleu at Gino's', and get your Rogue beer at a minimart or growler fill place. The brewery charges $22 for a 64oz growler, other places only charge $12-18, but going to the brewery was still fun.
